Hole-in-the-Rock Road to Grosvenor Arch
This was absolutely my least favorite section of the Hayduke! In this section I navigated cross country, aka wandering around sagebrush and stumbling upon dead cows and a horse! My gratefulness to enter Monday canyon was quickly subsided when my pace slowed to a crawl while trying to navigate around huge boulders and drywalls. A hot day bopping from one canyon to another left me with little water so I hiked later than normal and found a puddle to my great relief. I tried following Yellow Paradise Slot Canyon but couldn't climb out which led me to backtrack to the road that led me to Grosvenor Arch and trail angels Laura and Dan!
Path for this section: Climb Fiftymile Mountain, cross-country across top to drop into into Monday Canyon, followed by Rogers Canyon, Croton Canyon, Navajo Canyon, Surprise Valley, Reese Canyon to Last Chance Creek and Paradise Canyon. Attempted to follow Yellow Paradise Slot Canon but couldn't climb out so backtracked to Four mile Canyon/Last Chance Road/Four Mile Bench Road to finish at Grosvenor Arch.
