    Note to self - prepare to eat less pizza to fit through some of those passages. Looks incredible!

      I'd need to lose 150 lbs. to fit thru some of those if I could still hike it. So cool to see rock formations.

    Buckskin Gulch looks absolutely stunning! The way the light and colors play on the sandstone walls is mesmerizing. Must be an incredible experience to walk through such a quiet and surreal place. Thanks for sharing this amazing hike - really inspiring! 🏜🌄

    That's some canyon! I had never heard of a slot canyon.
    WOW, some of those openings appeared very narrow. Those flash floods are scary. Thanks, Josh, for taking us on another, amazing adventure. EVERYwhere you go, you ALWAYS find so many positives.

    It’s about time a ladder was put up. I’ve seen far too many RUclips videos of hikers scrambling up and down that drop.
    Great video. Thanks!

    We did this hike a few years ago, in early November. We even had our dog with us as this time of year, the weather is super mild.
    Always check the weather before you so.

    What an incredible place. Of course it’s right next to the wave. I would love to see the wave in person one day. My knees are pretty messed up due to a bad car accident on the 101 a few years ago so I can no longer rock scramble. But I’ve done antelope canyon a few years back. That was a dream come true. Thanks for sharing this one.

    Glad you got to enjoy the hike! I still have mixed feelings on things like adding the ladder to the hike, as when I did like a decade ago it there was no ladder and you just had to downclimb that drop. I appreciate the desire to add accessibility, but it also increases the amount of traffic these sort of places get which isn't always ideal. Curious as to your own thoughts on the issue.

    • @ThroughMyLens
      @ThroughMyLens  5 месяцев назад +1

      Totally know what you mean! I think that an area like this is remote enough that it takes a lot of work for people to even want to come out there so it is nice to be able to get through the canyon, plus there is a way around so you can still access even if the ladder isn’t in place. I do try to follow the leave no trace principles though and so it is always interesting to see things like this that make places more approachable. Overall, I want people to experience beautiful places so they will see how special something is and hopefully work to protect it. Places like this need to be experienced to really understand and appreciate, you know?

    • @duketogo13
      @duketogo13 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@ThroughMyLens Reasonable! I've watched your videos for a long time, and I have faith in your respect for any places you visit. It's just been challenging watching certain places become rapidly over-crowded and wishing some people had a better understanding of how to best support some of these fragile ecosystems IE I've watched people stomp all over cryptobiotic soil in certain areas. But agreed that for the most part that Buckskin is fairly out of the way, and I don't ever mean to try to gatekeep. Just wish there was a bit more education out there about responsibly enjoying the outdoors!
