Bts is just like classic case of katy perry I 2010's most popular artist with best music but was just used for promotions by nominating her but never gave her a single award even when she has best album of all time. They are using BTS I similar fashion

*A better example of the Grammys using BTS for views on the award show is 2020, not 2021. The teasers throughout the entire 3h show were “BTS up next” though they performed 2nd to the last. The backlash Grammys got from ARMYs-I am one-is likely why they performed in 2021 bc there were clear signs that ARMY & BTS were DONE with Grammys back in 2020. (They deserved both noms and many more btw but that’s a different topic.)
Note: BTS livestream immediately after Grammys 2020 drew in 3 million more simultaneous viewers than the award show itself

Very well done video! I'm a big The Weeknd fan and I will never forgive the Grammy's for not allowing Blinding Lights and After Hours to be nominated. I can feel a certain way about what albums or songs should win various categories, but to not even be nominated is a disgrace. Even if the Academy changes for the better, I will not be watching. I think BTS and The Weeknd are perfect examples of how corrupt the Grammys are. You can't tell me these two artists that are selling out stadium tours in the US aren't nominated for muliple Grammys. This has not happened to other artists. And I'd say nominations are actually worse now because artists who are now winning in major categories can't even sellout an arena tour, much less a stadium tour. Example: Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish cannot sell out even arena tours and yet they get multiple Grammys because they are industry darlings. It's just so stupid, and everyone can see the obvious corruption.

when I think about award shows, I think about how Better Call Saul and The Wire both never won a single emmy. Every award show is rigged and they hardly ever recognize true talent. the fact that the “abcde fu” song was considered to win any award at the last grammys while patrick fabian and micheal mando weren’t even NOMINATED at the emmys is insane. they need to change the whole award show process in general.
I just want the Grammys to nominate actual metal bands in their own category instead of hard rock bands because it’s so disrespectful to the genre when a rock band’s song or album is nominated for both rock and metal categories..

Rock and metal are even lucky to get a category. Rock has been around since the early 1950s yet the first rock award was in the late 1980s. The glory days of he genre were gone when the awards first came out.

I hate the Grammys, it's basically a popularity contest and the actual quality of the music barely feels considered. They're definitely not a very accurate representation of the best music each year smh
what's worse is when it suddenly stops being a popularity contest. Case in point, Blinding Lights wouldn't have just won a popularity contest, it would've made it a no contest. But the Grammy's got butthurt over the Weeknd choosing the Super Bowl over them and said, "the hell with your song's popularity and success, we don't like you now."
Nicki Minaj has spoken out for years about the corruption of the grammys till this day and yet you seem to leave her out the conversation like everyone like the weekend zayn and others speak out everybody is behind them but when Nicki Minaj speaks out it's a problem like none of these artists that speak out against the grammys even back Nicki Minaj luckily she got her fanbase that will support her no matter what!!! Haven't watched the grammys since Nicki Minaj was blackballed!!!

The Grammys are literally just a popularity contest where a bunch of celebrities pat each other on the back (for the most part at least). I think a big reason less and less people are watching is because people don't get their music from the radio anymore, you're not restricted to only hearing the music that DJs decide to play. Of course there was always word-of-mouth music discovery, but the age of the internet definitely expanded that by a lot since pretty much everyone on Earth is connected now. With places like RUclips and Soundcloud becoming the biggest sources of music discovery, people are able to discover different genres and smaller artists they enjoy that don't really fit into the categories or the image of the Grammys. It's easy to not give a fuck about the Grammys when you listen to none or even just a couple of the nominated artists. That's pretty much where I'm at, I haven't actively listened to the music of a single Grammy nominee in several years. Not trynna pretend like I'm super cool for that or anything, people like what they like, but I definitely think that the resources we have now to discover new music have for sure had an effect on people's desire to watch the Grammys.
I'm just here to say the Nicki Minaj deserves way more respect than the Grammys has given her especially just buy how successful she is and how good her music is even though it's not for everybody. It's crazy how you give you the highest selling female rap artist in the world and be the most awarded than any other rap artist. And only been nominated for a Grammy one time.

Nicki has been very patient with her recent albums. I prefer an artist to take their time instead of giving me a rushed album. Queen was a good album, and I hope this next one will be even better.

@remyroland8016 I personally liked Chun-Li, Ganja Burns, LLC, Barbie Dreams, I Thought I Knew You, Hard White, Majesty, Chun Swae (Nicki Verses Only), and Good Form. The album had about 3 songs that could've been scrapped, and then it would've been perfect. Saying that Chun-Li is the only good song is far-fetched. Plus, we haven't had more memorable female rap albums after Nicki and Cardi's albums were released (minus Doja).

The weekend snub could have been a blessing in disguise if it's causing changes to the academy voting system. Still a shame it had to be him. Like, even if you didn't care for the album After Hours, there is no denying that Blinding Lights should not have only been nominated but should have won Record of the year. That song is not only just so good, it is a worldwide critical record breaking smash hit record. I don't know how the academy could ignore a song that had both huge critical and commercial success.
yeah and then you see songs like Say So, Don't start now and Circles beeing nominated. Blinding Lights was a classic right from the beginning and I bet even our grandchildren will know this song. Put someone in a cell for 24h and play say so to them. This shit would be torture
Nowadays Grammys don’t matter. That’s why when someone breaks a previous record no one cares. It is no longer a measure of quality and success. Look at the songs that win, they are completely irrelevant.
Truthfully after Michael Jackson stopped going to the Grammys thats when they went downhill. They snubbed him so much because they realized he no longer needed awards he became bigger than the music industry.
Should’ve mentioned how some artists are blackballed by the Grammys and will purposely be moved to other categories in order to make it less likely they’ll be nominated/win for example Nicki Minaj’s sing Super Freaky Girl was submitted under best Melodic Rap Song but the Grammys board moved the song to Best Pop Song category bc they didn’t want to put Nicki in a category she would actually have a chance in but the Grammys nominated a similar song Latto’s Big Energy in the Best Melodic Rap category

The rap verses in the song are nice. Especially the two added verses from the remixes. I personally think that it deserved a nomination, plus it did well on the charts.

The fact that Taylor Swift's album (1989) won "album of the year" instead of Kendrick's album (To Pimp A Butterfly) really makes me angry. To Pimp A Butterfly is one of the best albums of all time. Meanwhile, Taylor's entire discography is literally just generic 2010's pop music that gets old pretty quickly.

i would actually love seeing music heads run their own year end award shows with viewer-voted/nominated categories! as an avid listener of kpop and therefore consumer of kpop youtube content, this has been a somewhat of a tradition amongst kpop stans for a while where popular ktuber accs will have google forms for the nominations.
The Grammy committee kind of works like the Olympic Committee where if you kiss enough ass give enough money and gifts you got a better shot at getting what you want. For the Weeknd to not be nominated when he had the biggest album of the year the biggest single of the year that says all you need to know. And I'm not even a big fan of the weekend but I don't know if that's ever happened to where somebody had the Undisputed biggest album of the year and didn't get any nominations none. Great video man

Grammys became hated at that time when Macklemore won 3-4 Grammys (3 on the rap categories) over Kendrick Lamar in which he should’ve won in 2013. Grammys did and end Macklemore dirty.

Perhaps bc in the 80s-00s huge pop artists were not awarded and the academy often picked aging rock artists. It’s rather ridiculous how few Grammys legends like Madonna, Prince, Bowie, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson have in comparison to artists were present in the 2010s and on. And now they ONLY continue to award the same artists over and over…Bey, Taylor, Bruno Mars. It’s horribly predictable. I love Beyoncé but no way she should have dozens more Grammys than someone like Mariah Carey.

Mariah Carey barely has any Grammys and she write, sings and produces whilst singers like Beyonce have so many but don't do that but Beyonce has more Grammy's than most artists even ones like Whitney and Mariah who sing much better.

If i were in the music industry as an artist i would much rather a situation where i own all of my music, call my own shots, and dance to my own beat without ever winning a grammy, as opposed to winning a grammy or multiple grammys but don't have anything to show for it at the end of the day.....but that's just me

in my opinion, the reason no one watches award shows anyone or even cares it's because now they feel fake, everyone thinks they are entitle to one and the award shows started giving them out because of that, like "Make the Oscars more black" twitter thing, now it has no ratings and anytime someone of black or brown skin wins one you get tons of people thinking they got the pity/appeasement award and didn't earn it, Awards used to be earned, hell even Michael Jackson lost grammys many times before and after thriller, that's life you can't just demand to win, you win if you win and that's it. in the end it's just some rich asshole getting an award, why would any normal person care is beyond my understanding XD

Firstly, I've never really been a fan of the Grammys. The ceremonies are too long and the Recording Academy either goes too far outside the box or makes the most painfully obvious choices. 😒

My opinion: just don't watch the Grammys. It's all pointless. Once they lose viewership, I wonder how they'll make money......
their viewership is in hell. 2020 had 16.7m viewers and 2021 grammies dropped to barely 8m and has been dropping ever since.

I have a strong belief that I will have a very strong career I believe I might even be known for making music sometime soon but I have no faith in winning a Grammy no matter how good my numbers get 💯

These artists only boycott at this point when they get snubbed. Matter of fact, the only reason that people were upset with the Grammys, when it came to BTS was because the fact that they only brought them there to bring in more traction towards the show.
