The difference between DJ Khaled and Tyler The Creator is that Khaled makes music that gets shoveled in your face whether you want to hear it or not; Tyler makes music that you WANT to seek out for yourself, be it out of curiosity or actual enjoyment. I wouldn't be surprised if Khaled got his airplay from radio payola.

One of the reason I support more underground forms of music like Metal, Hardcore, any kind of Rock really and underground Hip-Hop... If you want to make money and gain popularity out of music, do whatever the industry tells you to, join one of the biggest record labels and only invest in it sounding fun!
Want to create your own actual music, then release it on any platform you can, play it in any pubs you can and let the fans and labels come to you, don't change just cuz someone tells you to, but you'll have the unluck of probably only having very few fans...
Depends what you want out of your music career, you want to be big or you want to do your own thing in private

He was given a slot at EDC 2018 an EDM event and I remember everyone genuinely gathered at the stage to cheer him on. He showed up about 15min late to his set, repeatedly cut the music short just as everyone started to dance, and went over his set time 10 minutes to the point fans were jeering and chanting the next artist to come on stage. The best moment was when he would hold the mic out and say "DJ 🎤 " and the crowd would respond "Yellow Claw!!"

The biggest insight into DJ Khaled for me came on the Hot Ones w/Sean Evans interview.
Now I'm not taking away from people who throw in the towel on finishing all the wings off... at the end of the day if you don't want to you don't have to and I'm sure its pretty frigging spicy.
However with Khaled it wasn't simply him pulling out and not wanting to finish off all the wings... it was the elaborate pitch he put out when he did so.
I dont know if he was trying to save face or divert the attention from him "quitting", but the rant he went on really gave me a better insight into his character.
He was so hell bent on twisting the narrative to be a win for him and assert that he's still "the best" that he came across as a bit sad to me. Instead of having the confidence to just say "damn these are hot as hell I don't want to do this" he had to go so over the top that he tried to teach Sean Evans a life lesson on knowing when the right time to call it quits is and how that plays into being a "winner".
The part about focusing on his "health" and his rant about how "dangerous" the spice levels were are comical now that you see all the top tier celebrity men, women, young, and old that have just had fun with it and powered through.
Be wary of the one who uses way too many words and spins a narrative to convey something that could simply be put to bed with a confident one-sentence statement.
They usually are overcompensating for something.

If they’re that poor they’re gonna be selling their own clothes/ upselling discount store clothes and etc. Just because you’re ignorant American brain can’t expand to think that other people have had significantly more difficult lives than you doesn’t mean that their stories aren’t true. Also let’s use some logic bc there’s this little thing called INFLATION and ya know the INTERNET. And surprise surprise when these people who are in their mid to late 40s immigrated here during the 20th century when things were much cheaper and the internet was damn near non-existent. So yes it’s very plausible that that happened. Also the places these people immigrate to are heavily populated with other immigrants and minorities which they more than likely received help from. Maybe let’s try some cognitive thinking before dismissing people’s life stories and accusing them of prostitution…

@ArtieMorgan I was honestly just marveling at how Khaled being so likable and positive got him so far.
He did bring all the artists together and they collaborated on that one song.
I remember it felt like being at the party and we were all together.

I'm lukewarm when it comes to DJ Khaled, not really a fan but glad he has success. I was ecstatic when Tyler's album Igor, took number 1 over his though. Tyler, The Creator is very talented and that album in my opinion is one of his best, so it was great for him to finally be recognized by more than just his fans.

It's crazy how Suge saying, “Any artist out there that want to be an artist and stay a star, and don’t have to worry about the executive producer trying to be all in the videos, all on the record, dancing… come to Death Row!” applies to him years later!!! But, it's worse for him because no one wants to hear him yelling, repeating the same thing, and interrupting the artists at the worse time which ruined so many performances. Nip's tribute was the perfect example that shows how he's all about himself, and makes himself the center focus when Nip was supposed to be but he took that away from him, John Legend, and Marsha Ambrosius who were both genuine in their performance honoring him. Plus, the man who sported headphones as a constant promotion is the same man who then replaced them with his son and used him as a prop.

With all the competing egos Khaled has a special gift of uniting artists and making them greater together than they could ever be solo.
      Khaled is the greatest imo

DJ Khaled was never unanimously loved by the fans. He just happened to have his name in songs we liked. Always thought he was annoying, and always tried to figure out what he did.
