Diversity with Barbie is NOT the problem, it's plain old capitalism, Mattel just loves cutting corners!!! I am annoyed whenever inclusion gets blamed for greed!!!

Yes, inclusion and diversity isn’t the problem. The problem is that that’s the bare minimum for Mattel. Corporate is basically saying “we’ve made diverse dolls, now stop complaining.” meanwhile lacking any design or quality that previous barbie’s had when she was just white and blonde. Which is very sad.
I mean I paid 120 for my wydowna spider AT the convention so when I heard dead fast was 70 I was surprised

I’m guessing the diversity comment was regarding the price connected to delivering diversity? As in paying for the materials to create a highly diverse line.
For just one diverse line multiple skin tones have to be purchased, multiple eye colours, hair colours, hair textures, different facial sculpts have to be made, body sculpts too sometimes. The prices add up in contrast to say a basic line where everyone has the same eye/hair or skin colour.
Logically spending all the budget on those materials leads to budget cuts to the one thing remaining, the clothing. Whereas if a line can be made from a smaller batch of materials, they can afford to put the money saved from less materials into the clothing.
Diversity is obviously great on a societal level but production wise it is logically more expensive, and we know Mattel loves to save money wherever they can, so the clothing is what suffers.
If rainbow high wanted to rebrand and do fantasy type of stuff they shouldve COMMITTED to it more instead of giving us gimmicks that literally no one is gna use i think it would be better if they were regular fashion dolls with a fairytale type of look but with rainbow higj flair and fashion like imagine poppy with a fairy themed outfit and skyler with a mermaid themed outfit bc they have potential but MGA doesnt wanna try
My mini me is excited for Miniverse Happy Hour cocktails too !! And you guys nailed it, Miniverse is nailing it ! Every time a new wave comes out, all us adults love it. And they are so well detailed! I love Mini Brands too, but their create wave isnt as good as Miniverse. But in general both of these are perfect detailed & fun items for our dollhouse & dolls !
I have definitely noticed that Elvira seems happier since the beads- sending good vibes for the bead business ❤
Great video you guys. Elvira, I am so happy you have dived into a new hobby but please don't ever leave the doll circle. This community is going through some dark times for the foreseeable future and we need you here with us

I love them so much & now im like "ok, i guess i can just get more MH & Barbie, but...😢 i had a few Barbies, but RH is literally what got me addicted to doll collecting & getting into the doll community. Im also depressed about losing them !

I kind of have a feeling that MGA is going to realize that the new version of Rainbow High is not being received well and hopefully they will go back two more fashion Focused doll.

Jonny! You have to do a Bratzillaz collection video! I totally missed on these dolls, but appreciating them NOW…can someone elaborate how MH beat out Bratzillaz? B/c I prefer MGA’s take on that theme of dolls even if they did kinda “copy” the idea from Mattel. MGA perfected it imo…

Someone needs to show mattel and MGA the adult collectors article so they can cut the crap with the cheapness and gimmicks!
Mattel already targets adults with their dolls, MGA on the other hand, only had bratz for adults because the O.M.G fierce and RH collector dolls did not do well with adult collectors.

I wasn't that interested in Yummiland at first either but now I'm not opposed. One of them is literally dressed like Georgia from Rainbow High but with a fur coat. I don't mind the new winter RH. They aren't fashionable but I don't think they're bad.
Mattel is just being cheap. Monster High has a budget and multiple face sculpts and skin colors, why can't Barbie? When they know people will still buy cheap dolls, cheap clothes, shiny low res faces printing, and it saves the company money, then why would they give us quality? This is why I cringe every time people say that pixelated faces don't bother them. We keep getting pixelated faces because people keep buying them. Maybe Mattel would fix it if the pixel face dolls weren't selling. I remember making a complaint to Mattel about glue seepage on my Werecat twins I got from Toys R Us, it's the first time I'd seen it straight out the box, and Mattel sent me a voucher because they couldn't replace the item. I like to think they got enough glue seepage complaints to finally stop the practice. They also changed back the American Girl sewn-on panties because of the community uproar against it. Maybe it takes complaining directly to the company to get the Barbie quality up to par.
So adult sales beat pre schoolers ? You hear that Rainbow High? Fine...they can have the "Littles", but give us our adult dolls back ! We're your money makers ! 😅
Elvira, i agree, i like older Addams family Wednesday better. Christina Richie & old, old TV series Wednesday. Im so happy im getting the Morticia & Wednesday pack, cause its NOT based on Netflix characters. But I'll probably also get the Netflix Wednesday too, cause im a huge Wednesday character fan anyway about it. She wont be Jenna Ortega to me.
So I have been a die hard barbie collector my entire life. I'm 54 and my collection spans decades. I bought a few rainbow high dolls due to the fashions I had to see them. It's always been about the clothes for me. I now have every rainbow high doll. I stopped buying with the glitter face slime dolls. Just couldn't do it anymore. First they took away our second outfit ok fine then some articulation and good fashion now just no good. I find myself finding reason to buy more doubles than ever. I also must save any I find while thrifting. The end of an era for sure. I think we will talk about for a long time the grief is real.
I bought a Monster High Polly Pocket a couple months ago & I haven't opened it yet. I think maybe I should so I can see what they taste like 🤪💜💜

Diversity is the problem?!?! BS. There are so many examples that contradict the “go woke, go broke” mantra of the haters. The Barbie Movie itself is a great example of that. All the diversity of (recent) Barbie was featured along side a very feminist pov/message and it was BRILLIANT, and made boat loads of money.

I just fell like modern Barbie is 100% diversity and that equals to printed on fashion and basic fashion. Mattel isn’t going to give us glam Barbie with also adding the diversity budget and selling them for $10. Not saying diversity is bad but to much can cause a budgeting on quality. Now , we are doing everything HAS to be included, for an example brown eyes red hair , black hair blue eyes. Barbie is going to get to a point where they are slowly going to stop it and take the backlash and return to just Barbie and black Barbie and Teressa which I personally don’t mind. As long as we get 90s glam Barbie and amazing fashion I don’t care. Fashion and quality over the other stuff. My own adult and with disabilities opinion.

Getting scammed..i hear too many stories, so its why i haven't bought anything off Ebay or Mercari type sites, or Facebook groups. I would rather pay more & get from Amazon or Walmart 3rd parties. It seems safer & less anxiety transaction.

Okay I just have this to say about the entire diversity thing. The only real diversity being scene in barbie I feel in like playline, or fashion is skin color. Diversity goes so much beyond skin color, diversity would be to me a plus sized Ken or real plus sized Barbie I mean give me a Catty Noir body style Barbie and we can talk. Then you have orientation diversity in that besides on bratz 2 pack which were collector dolls , I have not seen Lesbians represented especially not in Barbie. Then is yet to be a equal love Ken , or Pride Ken. Where is the Jewish Barbie diversity. Barbie what I am getting to fails still at Diversity. You can't just slap on a darker skin mold and call it diversity that is just another skin color. Diversity has a compete definition I feel all doll brands fail to cover.
