I just got it from my AD. It's awesome, for all the reasons that makes it different. The strap is so confortable I want one for other watches. @CoolHandLuke did you watch the video? The bezel is there specifically because the MN special forces divers wanted it. That's "actual divers", not a guy who once did a guided scuba dive on vacation. The fixed bars mean there is no chance of strap failure, and the MN divers(all military divers that I've ever seen) wear dive watches on straps not bracelets. I bought this watch instantly when I had the opportunity to try it on my wrist two days ago. I own the BB58 in blue and thought the FXD might be to big on my wrist and the blue might be to my dislike, but alas - it fits so nicely and looks gorgeous! Never would have thought that Tudor might get more money from me, but these two watches I now own are so different while sharing some details like the snowflake hands, and the same fonts that they make total sense in my small collection, at least imho. You have to try this watch on your wrist to make a final judgement! I had the original Pelagos in black on my wrist, too, but with its height it couldn't win me over. Thanks for the great video footage, best quality around these days!!!
Everybody always likes the older stuff, and/or they want it on a bracelet, but this flies in the face of this particular watch due to the unique purpose of a navigational combat dive watch. I think it’s brilliant and have been enjoying mine for a while now.
The original blue Pelagos is my favorite Tudor watch. It came with a steel bracelet and blue rubber strap. The blue on the dial was more intense than this version.
This is definitely on my short list now, and has bumped the Omega Seamaster 300 down from my "next" list. I have the Pelagos LHD, which has never been on the included strap because as Teddy mentions the bracelet is fantastic. I am only slightly disappointed that this model will not include a bracelet, so I am not deterred. Thank you for your review of this watch, and I look forward to having a look at this new Pelagos at my local dealer soon.
I‘ve bought it and I‘m absolutly in love with it, it is true that it probably isnt for everybody but I would definetly suggest it if you want a great diver and not just a desk diver:)
I like the old Pelegos better as it fits me to a tee on the bracelet. The incorporated 'lug-bar' in an interesting twist that might be better served as a French Navy only edition as I can't see it being that popular as most prefer a bracelet or proper rubber strap (or both). Plus that previous Ti bracelet was the bomb! Interesting move by Tudor... ballsy actually. We'll see how it plays out in terms of sales.
My dream pelagos would be a smaller 39mm with similar color way as the pelagos LHD but similar dial layout and bezel as the FXD. To be honest the pay check was ready for the FXD before it launched, but the 42mm case put it right back in the drawer...loving these fixed lug bars though
Thanks Teddy, just found my next watch! And it’s the solid lugs that did it (plus no date) perfect for surfing and skin diving/spear fishing. I’ve lost three other supposed surf safe watches over the years due to seaweed getting under the strap and breaking those darned lug pins!
Wow this really happened??? I also love the FXD because of those lugs. The lug pins on a regular watch always feel so weak to me when I wear my watch on a nato strap. This FXD lugs give me a sense of security. 🤝 we are on the same wave length! Cheers!
Roger that: NO DATE / SOLID LUGS!!! Thin chapter ring to bring the dial up; French blue...Damn, that’s a hottie! Love the patina of the titanium, but I prefer the durability of 316L over the weight savings.
I agree. I always appreciated this guys straightforwardness, historical background, and his ability to understand that not everyone will agree with his position.
Having currently 3 Rolex Submariners, I purchased this Tudor Pelagos 6 which is my first Tudor. Love the fixed strap bars for security, wears well similar to smaller watches. Love the lumin that includes the bezel, and the 24 hour time loses or gains only one to two seconds. The dual strap options, both fit well and the overall look is unique and pleasing to the eye. Love this watch and at its price represents great value.
Two years later and this is still my most worn watch. The Marine Nationale (don't think "the fixed" caught on ha ha) is such a robust watch ready for anything I throw it's way. It's Military history and significance make this a permanent piece in my collection. Great review
Great Video. Thank you. Pelagos used to be my grail, but I went to try it on and didn't buy it. It was not comfortable on my 7-inch wrist and I comfortably wear 43 mm. The flat lugs design is simply not for me, but the dial design won. I got NTH Nacken, which is too small in 40 mm and doesn't have the impact of 42. I am happy that Tudor went slimmer on this one, and I will definitely try it on. But those fixed lugs don't make me spend 4000 $. Looking forward to the next one.
Good luck finding one for 4k, you have to spend 5,500 usd and up. They will probably keep on appreciating as they are expected to do 2023 run and then stop.
Just bought it and will review soon compared to the blue normal pelagos, the BB58 blue. DO you think the lucky ones to get the M.N 21 wiill have greater value than M.N22?
I find myself wondering just much of a “collaboration” with MN this? Having served in the armed forces myself, I’m all to aware that few serving soldiers, or parent units for that matter, would countenance the idea of a military issue watch with a mechanical movement. Quartz is both cheaper and more robust. Coupled with modern low battery indicators giving plenty of warning of failure of course. This release would almost certainly positively benefit the reputations of both the MN and Tudor of course; so it’s understandable how this got the go ahead! I remember how the JLC SEAL diver, at about £10k, made me chuckle! 😁
Alot of the dudes that graduate combat diver still get skx's and for a hot minute sere dudes got Hager watches both mechanical a well made mechanical will do just fine I currently wear a aqua terra with the 8500 mvnt as an everyday peice been just fine jumps and all
@Masi divers, combat ones, never use computers because they breath pure oxygen and never go under 20 feets.. And you are right. Hubert, SBS, SEALS don't dive with a 3900 $ mecanical watch but a 80$ G-Shock one. Pure marketing here.
I like this one a lot, but I don't think I'd ever get it. Things I like: - Fixed lugs for a nato monster. If you're into a diver on nato straps, perfect watch for you. - No helium escape valve. - I much prefer the dial on this compared to the standard Pelagos. Things I need to see to draw me in: - Bracelet version - and a better bracelet than the standard Pelagos. That thing is function over form, and is ugly imo. (We buy for fashion, relatively few divers buy dive watches, of course). Make it look like the BB clasp, but with extension. - Other colourways. Let's see the BB styles come to Pelagos, and more! - I think the circle print in the bezel marker looks cheap imo. I'd prefer a stand out circle like the BB, or leave it a solid triangle (It's all lumed up, so doesn't need an additional circle within the triangle. Weird choice for me). For me this is almost a re-introduction of the Tudor Sub, and it's so close to a purchase, but unfortunately it personally just misses the mark.
My Omega 1953 RAF Fat Arrow has solid lugs, which i much prefer. Those watches never came with a strap of any kind, it was up to the pilot or other military personnel, to choose their own. This is why i think this FXD Pelagos will become a future classic, because its design is very unusual in today's watch buying market.
This one doesn’t do anything for me, the omission of the bracelet option is a huge mistake in my opinion, the good news is that they at least recognize that they got a diamond in the rough that they can still modify to bring more people to it. Nice video and keep the good work my friend!
I'm the opposite, a true tool watch. The NATO strap is designed to accommodate a huge week point for the structure of a watch, the spring bars. That adds a huge element of charm for me.
They wouldn’t want to introduce a direct competitor to their own premium tool watch being the genuine Pelagos. It would pull people away from that section of the market
@@fenianlewis well Francisco hasn’t understood the real purpose of this watch and ignores, that this exact watch was developed for the marine… he just thinks it’s a „normal“ watch and not real tool watch 😃
Great Video, I have been looking at this watch for sometime now and I love it but watching your video I suddenly thought when I ran around in the mud with my mates (Army) my watch of choice was the Sekio willard it was not called that back then but it was tough and i could wear it in the showers after being out in the field for weeks it was tough. However if you was a bad guy and you saw several men wearing this watch you would shoot first and ask questions later lol, its why most people in the field would wear Casio watches lol.
I tried on the new black version and although I ended up liking the watch I really didn’t go for the exposed velcro section which just looked wrong. This wasn’t an issue on the rubber strap of course. I think with this watch you’ve got to think fitness for purpose ie white water rafting, surfing, diving and so forth rather than land use or desk diving. I guess this one has more character and identity than the black version. Then there’s the Red Bull version which looks kinda funky with the red highlights and the contrasting black bezel and blue dial. If you’re into your aquatic adventures then this one is great to strap over your wetsuit but it’s a bit of a miss for land activities. The rubber strap did stick out beyond the bars a bit giving a gap between wrist and strap which again suggests it’s for use as a tool watch over a wetsuit.
Two issues of note: 1st, the bezel does not have “10, 20, 30,” etc, where we are used to seeing them. Most, (me included) use the bezel to time runs/ workouts etc, we are used to seeing the bezel “count up”. Second, if the case is titanium, and the case back is steel, there will be a reaction between the two metals in the salt water environment. Further, an inexperienced watch repairman can easily strip out the case threads with the harder steel back. LOVE THE WATCH THOUGH. Possible that another tudor bezel might fit?
I’ll have it known I want a LHD but with the blue dial and Ti bracelet - that tool-free microadjust is just the cat’s meow. This one is pretty nice, too but that bracelet still trumps everything else.
Recent subscriber. Loving the content, especially on Tudor. Put my order in for a Tudor black bay 58 yesterday, currently have a speedmaster and think it will be a good two watch pair.
Great view, Teddy! The original Pelagos is one of my all time favorites but it just sits too big on my wrist. This is the solution. Love that Tudor responds to customer feedback. This is the perfect size.
Very well planned and very informative video Thanks Teddy, I have an appointment at my AD to view the FXD they have one on show and I expect that it will take a month or so to get one if I order. do you think that the excess strap hang over will be noticeable on a 7.5" wrist? I think that might bother me..
Thanks so much, Teddy!! I, like yourself, have a small wrist of 16.5 cm. I was wondering if you can comment on the Velcro strap on your wrist. I heard that it sticks out quite a bit at the end if you don’t have a big wrist. Anything you can share with us? Thanks again! Elie
Congratulation on getting this video out so soon Teddy. It is really nice to see your photos/videos instead of stock and I enjoyed hearing your personal take. This is a really cool watch 😊👍
Great watch - real sporty - still like the current one with the three dimensional dial. Lets wait for the left handed FXD in blue :) Great video - many thanks and greetings from Germany
I love the bracelet on the Pelagos, so I would have to stick with the regular model. I do like that this one is thinner though. I'd certainly give up 300 of those 500 meters to thin it out a bit. That being said, the regular Pelagos is still on the top of my list for a big purchase next year.
Came for the Tudor (obviously...), but spent pretty much the whole video wondering what golden vintage beauty Teddy's wearing. May you enlighten us ? It looks gorgeous ! Thanks for the quality content 👍
Man , this watch is killer. The decreased thickness was what the pelagos needed to look right on my wrist. But the fixed lugs are kind of a deal breaker, the pelagos bracelet is amazing and would've been a great optional extra for this watch.
That's a nice watch. I have the Palagos '0riginal' version I bought about a year ago. I'll never sell it. I pushed the 'buy now' button on a Draken 3.0 Tugela a few months ago. After procrastinating for a few weeks, of course . Interesting your comment on the lume on the Tudor being excellent. It is, but. Draken has the lume to die for. It's a killer. Thanks for the review.
Love this watch … although there is the bad association with what is likely the branch of the French military that blew up the Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior. Still, it’s probably my very favorite recent release. Looking forward to trying it on.
I'm in saturation right now in the Caspian sea, we are working at just under 100m but the job is soon to be going to 180m storage working at an estimated 200m, I'm a little disappointed that the helium valve as been taken away as this is what is needed the most as a sat diver, this watch is clearly suitable for scuba diving only unfortunately as diving commercially you really don't need a watch in the water as times are kept with your supervisor and also a watch gets bashed around as a commercial diver yet in the sat chamber a watch is nice to have as a belonging but the helium valve is very much needed unless using somthing along the line as a g-shock
Maybe like Oris they could lever the Ocean Conservation angle and do a French Navy/Greenpeace collab? That would be the bomb! Seriously, I like it, but as an actual scuba diver that bezel is a pain, also 42 is too big, gimme a 38? The big Pelagos shd be bigger
It would be great if you could show watches on someone with an 8” wrist or slightly bigger so those of us with larger wrists can see how a 42mm or 43mm or 44mm watch will look. Another great video Teddy!
The Pelagos was always my favorite modern, true tool diving watch. I would like to see this no-date dial in a standard case with the full titanium bracelet. That would be the end of the world for me 😁
I think it was a good step by Tudor to show once again that luxury watches can also be real tool watches. Where the Submariner is more of a desk diver, the Pelagos is a real diving watch for me. Even though the Submariner is of course superbly manufactured. Even if I don't really like the design of the FXD, especially the square case combined with this rather distracting bezel and of course the fixed spring bars, it is a cool watch. But my striking blue Pelagos on its superbly made Bracelet and clasp is still a winner :)
Rolex Submariner is far more than a desk diver,; there is a reason it's the most copied watch out there....therefore, your comment reference a desk diver holds no water.
@@bigbrotherwatchesdannyboy306 then why do you want a Rolex Sub so bad, how come everyone copies their watch. Sebastian doesnt know jack and you dont either.

Well done Teddy! Best review on this watch yet!
I’ll have it known I want a LHD but with the blue dial and Ti bracelet - that tool-free microadjust is just the cat’s meow. This one is pretty nice, too but that bracelet still trumps everything else.
Love the pics in Cleveland downtown-flats area!!
Ah great finally a pro talking about this beautiful watch thanks mate
Recent subscriber. Loving the content, especially on Tudor. Put my order in for a Tudor black bay 58 yesterday, currently have a speedmaster and think it will be a good two watch pair.
I'm in love with this elegant design
Great video!
Thanx
At first, I did not like the new Pelagos…..
But my mind changes….
I really like the watch in this video…..!
Great view, Teddy! The original Pelagos is one of my all time favorites but it just sits too big on my wrist. This is the solution. Love that Tudor responds to customer feedback. This is the perfect size.
I picked one up 6 days ago. Superb job, almost perfect. Great review.
You sold me on this one. Great content! Subscribed
Teddy, thanks for the video.
Jacket by: ?
Tudor needs to offer a 40mm variant with the old pelages bracelet.
I agree 101x100
That would be perfect, whilst operating the bezel with wet, 5mm neoprene gloves on…. It’s a tool watch - not a desk diver!
rayden me i am good
Very well planned and very informative video Thanks Teddy, I have an appointment at my AD to view the FXD they have one on show and I expect that it will take a month or so to get one if I order. do you think that the excess strap hang over will be noticeable on a 7.5" wrist? I think that might bother me..
Did you get the FXD? How do you like it?
Thanks so much, Teddy!! I, like yourself, have a small wrist of 16.5 cm. I was wondering if you can comment on the Velcro strap on your wrist. I heard that it sticks out quite a bit at the end if you don’t have a big wrist. Anything you can share with us? Thanks again! Elie
Tudor offers different strap size options.
Once you pointed out the bezel numbering asymmetry I can't not see it. It would drive me nuts.
This looks astonishingly good on your 6.5 wrist!
Congratulation on getting this video out so soon Teddy. It is really nice to see your photos/videos instead of stock and I enjoyed hearing your personal take. This is a really cool watch 😊👍
Love the reviews Teddy. Thanks for showing the watches on a variety if wrist sizes. I have a 6.25” wrist so your videos are always helpful
Please clarify (aficionados)! I thought the Yema NavyGraf is the official Marine Nationale watch?
Incredible video Teddy 👏
Great Video Teddy !!! Always looking forward to them. Which Tudor do you see appreciate in price in the future. I love the GMT and Pelagos.
Great watch - real sporty - still like the current one with the three dimensional dial. Lets wait for the left handed FXD in blue :) Great video - many thanks and greetings from Germany
Love it. How does it wear in comparison to the OG Black Bay ETA? Specs suggest similar but I feel this might wear smaller
You are more fun than anyone, Such a lovely video
Do u think the pelagos may ever be launched in 40mm or should I just go with the nth nacken
Love the fixed lug tudor, any chance we will see this in black for 2022?
Aesthetically perfect. Tudor got it right.
I love the bracelet on the Pelagos, so I would have to stick with the regular model. I do like that this one is thinner though. I'd certainly give up 300 of those 500 meters to thin it out a bit. That being said, the regular Pelagos is still on the top of my list for a big purchase next year.
Don’t look at the Tudor.
I can’t help it, it’s so beautiful!
Didn't even think about what this piece means for the wider Pelagos line. I hope the next Pelagos they make can be around 38-39mm
You got it! Did you pick one up yet?
Came for the Tudor (obviously...), but spent pretty much the whole video wondering what golden vintage beauty Teddy's wearing. May you enlighten us ? It looks gorgeous ! Thanks for the quality content 👍
I love this watch and will pick one up either new or maybe when the go down a bit in due course. Well done Tudor!!
Man , this watch is killer. The decreased thickness was what the pelagos needed to look right on my wrist. But the fixed lugs are kind of a deal breaker, the pelagos bracelet is amazing and would've been a great optional extra for this watch.
The thickness is just going to be added back by the single or double nato so yeah, not digging it either.
@@Nefville yup it's a missed opportunity imo. Sure it's perfect for military issue but as civilian issue i would've loved the option of a bracelet.
No bracelet option is a killer for me. Nice video.
Ikr... if only they made a Pelagos with a bracelet
A sub 39mm Pelagos seems to be everyone's dream since it's launch - However Tudor gave us fixed springbars and a velcro strap because #reasons.
yes 39mm and maybe in titanium ??
I’m fine with them keeping the Pelagos a men’s size.
@@slothpatronus2704 what an idiotic statement.
@@modernclix29 seethe, wristlet
The Pelagos is a man's watch. Stick to the BBs if you want something dainty.
Is it still thinner that the previous Pelagos once you take in account the required nato straps?? I can't believe nobody has mentioned that yet..
@@steves8322 gotcha, thanks. I guess the single pass nato helps a bit. The rubber strap must just look thick in pictures.
I can’t explain why I like it, I just do! BUT would still go for the 58 and Chrono before this one.
Amazing video, but you didn't say what it is missing besides a bracelet. Why does Tudor needs to make another new pegalos for you?
Hey teddy will you by chance be reviewing the new Cartier Tank Must collection? Looking into getting one possibly.
The black FXD is the best dive watch on the market by quite some way. Submariner honestly doesn't come close. Super super impressed
Hi Teddy, just wanted your thoughts on Yema French Air Force black limited edition…. I am planning to purchase the watch… Or a comment.. thank you
What I really wanna know is where that jacket is from. It's stunning
16:21 he answers that
I love it! I joust bought it! I was really lucky to have found one at Wempe here in Berlin.
I don’t know, making fun of Green Peace members being murdered isn’t funny?
Where's the jacket from Teddy?
and just like that the 25500tn pelagos becomes a classic vintage collector...
Great video and watch! What watch is Teddy wearing?
I love the new intro I can tell you've invested in a new camera LOL!
Good video Teddy. Very much on point.
That would be the end of the world for me 😁
Totally agree with your wish list....and maybe one less line of text (we can dream, right)
I think it was a good step by Tudor to show once again that luxury watches can also be real tool watches.
Well done Sebastian. 🤝
Rolex Submariner is far more than a desk diver,; there is a reason it's the most copied watch out there....therefore, your comment reference a desk diver holds no water.
@@williamstalvey6920 Sebastian is correct. 🤝
@@bigbrotherwatchesdannyboy306 then why do you want a Rolex Sub so bad, how come everyone copies their watch. Sebastian doesnt know jack and you dont either.
@@williamstalvey6920 I don't want a sub so bad. See? You are wrong AGAIN. Sebastian is correct. 🤝
In many videos I wonder what watch Teddy is wearing on his wrist.. I wish he can start mentioning that in the beginning of every video i think it would be nice
Teddy , the Pelagos got a variant not mentioned, the LHD with cream colored Lum, Roulette date wheel, Red text and numbered sequence. I know I have number 16.
