Wrong... proof is in the eating... 9 years down the line with an original full manual 4X4 Amarok and faultless... and have first-hand knowledge of other “bushies” clocking well over the 200s and 300s of thousand kilometres in both 2litre and V6 derivatives. Yes there were a few early issues, as was with the Ranger at the time, and the Toyotas by the way. (Add to that drivers of Volkswagen products not using proper maintenance guidelines and products, and then blame it on Volkswagen design). I have been underneath the new AmaFrod/Ranger and have seen the drive train layout for myself and the design is weak... good for a city truck, not continuous off-road work. The previous Amarok ZF boxes in both 6speed and 8speed auto are indestructible. Also, go and look at the puny differential on the new ranger/AmaFrod… you’ll laugh. Heavy loads and continues torque on that piece of Ford clockwork, oh boy I see trouble coming. They are new now. Let the years roll on. We’ll see. As for the original Amarok, it is engineered so well that Volkswagen Argentina is continuing to build the same original Amarok, with excellently redesigned front end, with a extra leash of life for 15 years. That speaks for itself. The new AmaFrod will not last... mark my words… 5 plus years down the line. It has an inferior designed drive train and the Lion based V6 that was used in earlier Land Rover Discovery is just asking for trouble. I have friends with first-hand experience in Discoveries on that engine. Let’s hope they sorted this new derivative of the old engine. The V6 engine in the previous Amarok range too has a solid track record, having been used in many previous Volkswagen and Porsche products, before it was earmarked for the Amarok. Volkswagen South Africa ditched the idea most probably because of their perceived money spinning deals locally by opting for a Ford based VW badged horse. The smart VW designed interior is not going to sell Amaroks! They would have done far better by bringing the Argentinian 3rd Gen Amarok original to this economically destroyed country. But they are in it for the quick money and have destroyed their local decades of loyal supporters. They might as well just leave South Africa and we’ll drive Fords and Toyotas and be happy. (Klaus Schwabb)

Yep outdated shitboxes ...I'll buy the ranger though I'm European and pick ups are less on demand yet it's always ford that wins in sales of pick ups . Ford is the bestseller of commercial vehicles and pickup trucks
One should only own these vehicles under warranty
If not it will be very expensive
Amarok comes with 5 year 100k full motorplan, service is an option on Ford!!!
I prefer the Ranger interior
Lovely sum up Cirro
The reality is when you looking at vehicles at that price point I’m not sure R100k will bother that consumer😮🫢🫢🥲
Truth be told the Ranger is selling like hot cakes😮
If I had to chose il take the Ranger only because for me value for money counts🎉
I still pick the Amarok. I choose to be different.😅
What if the ranger is a clone of the Amarok? 😂😂😂
A good question and looking at some of the things Amarok has and Ford doesn't, you might actually believe it
😂Amarok has only been around for 10 years, so they still young in the game unlike Ford
Dream on Baba,dream on
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Ranger all day
There are 8 Bakkies 😮
Amarok
amarok !
Ranger 100%, always.. the vw guys must rather stick to making small hatchbacks for the juniors. Those "Ama-broek" vans has way to much problems ans very expensive repairs. 😅😂😊
Wrong... proof is in the eating...
Ford Ranger saved the VW Amarok and to thank them VW made their bakkie worse and hiked the price. Ford is Lord.
Then it shouldn't be wrong to say mk5 supra is a z4
Both using the VW Dieselgate 2.0 TDI
Nope all new amarok are using ford engine. They are even getting 2.3 petrol engine from ford
Feel like Mercedes should have done the same thing not to copy n paste everything down to the interior of the Nissan
..the 2.0 biturbo and 3.0 V6 TDI was first introduced to the bakkie market by VW before FORD...Ranger was using 2.2 and 3.2 Diesel engines .so i think both brands helped each other to achieve this perfect project.
If the Ford was a VW I would say buy the VW but because the VW is a Ford I say buy the Ford.
Why not just buy a land cruiser upgrade it 😮
I chose a Hilux everyday
I have a hilux and it’s given nothing but trouble breaking down, so will be staying well clear of it
Bigger is better
Keep the AMAFORD and RANROK ...... not like both as a HIGHLY VW PERSON AND SUPPORTER , drive since 1983 my own ( before my late dad VW/Audi) , Passat , Golf 1 GLS , GTi , Golf 2 1.8 GTI and 2.0 l 16v , 2 Jetta CLi 2 and 3 , 2 Golf VR6 , Audi Avant 2.6 , B7 2.0l , and Golf GTI 5 DSG. Current AMAROK 132kw , BiTDI 4MOTION 8 speed auto. VW keep your AMAFORD ; will not even to a freely swap to a Amaford. WHY ......
IT'S NOT A ORIGINAL VOLKSWAGEN. 😢😢😢😢😢
And cue all the Toyota haters, Resale / Unbeaten reliability / does what it says on the tin , thats why theres a hilux cult following, Dont cry when your Amaroks electronics give up and you in for 100k or when your fords fancy 10 speed gearbox or diff blows up or burns a hole in a piston, the list goes on.. both about as reliable as a nigerian bank account when the warranty is up, Ill take my GD6 all day vs these dressed up yuppie rides
🥱
@@jeroenjansen2709 go enjoy your big touch screen 😂
Amaranger🎉😂
Ford interior looks very cheap and plastic in person. If you worry about those kind of things rather go with Amarok.
Couldn't they have just kept it a secret that they were partnering with Ford 😂😂😂😅😂😅?
Get the ford. The price jump is not worth it.
😂ciro went straight to clone 😅
Neither
Ford made the Amarok better than the Ranger, maybe the Ranger is the clone
😂😂😂nah buddy...
For all the ford fans u do u but i will never buy a ford. I owned the previous amarok v6 but will never ever buy this abomination. I find myself disliking people that bought the new amarok purely because i believe that VW fans should not even support VW by buying this. Its like one rygby team supporter wearing the jersey of another team.
VW please get out of bed with Ford and I will buy another Amarok!
Ford is monstre
Just re map the Isuzu
Allen Michael Allen Christopher Miller Steven
