  • This tutorial shows a recipe for peanut butter frosting for a chocolate cake. This peanut butter frosting is very smooth and simple to make using only 6 ingredients. Peanut butter frosting is perfect for chocolate cake, cupcakes, or to spread on chocolate cookies or brownies.
    Ingredients:
    1 cup of unsalted butter
    1 cup creamy peanut butter
    3 cups of sifted powdered sugar
    1 tsp of vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 tbsp of milk
    (1 tbsp of water + 1/2 cup powdered sugar optional to thin it out for a more pipeable consistency)
    Directions
    1. Start by creaming the peanut butter and butter in a mixing bowl until well combined.
    2. Add the sifted powdered sugar in 1/3 cup increments and mix. Sifting the powdered sugar helps prevent lumps forming in the frosting.
    3. Add the vanilla extract and salt and mix until well combined. Once those ingredients are mixed, add the milk in and continue mixing.
    4. If you want a more pipeable or easy to spread frosting, add half a cup of extra powdered sugar and a tablespoon of water. Keep adding these a little at a time until you are happy with the consistency of the frosting.
