Why are there holes in the tube? Is it due to poor materials or manufacturing? You can 100% see gasses escaping from them, which would contribute to more noise and also spikes in pressure at those points which could lead to a catastrophic malfunction and injury. Use a stronger tube material like titanium & you could mitigate those problems.

Freedom Lover Thank you for your comment. The very point was to destroy the silencer. It is not intended for automatic fire, it is a light-weight silencer for hunting rifles. Maybe titanium could withstand this, I am not entirely sure, but it would be a loss both in terms of weight and pricing.
It was not a matter of showing what the silencer could take, as much as seeing what it would hold up to, and at which point it would break. Thus we needed to go beyond what the silencer could withstand. If we made super-durable, heavy, expensive silencers, we would simply have fired more rounds.
And just for the record, these silencers are very durable when used for their intended purpose. We offer a 5-year no-nonsense warrenty for national customers.

It's a modular silencer. What you see are the lugs for the spanner wrench, each section. The air leakage is small. You could of course seal the threads and see if it made any difference.
