Compa is low-key savage tho, what with the way she straight roasted Iffy for being flat chested but I guess we can see where she got it from too bad they toned her savageness way down in rebirth and the OVA I like savage Compa lol they made her too nice
The original game has a lot of charm that's simply missing from the later versions. Neptune is quite a lowkey bitch to Chian, IF breaks the fourth wall talking about Nep and Compa "It's annoying having gullible, moe girls as traveling companions" and Blanc........oh boy, Blanc is absolutely savage in the original game. The original game carried an M rated, and was scaled back to a T rating in the Vita ports. This allowed the original game to cover more controversial subject matter such as religion-led-state-corruption and Neptune literally trying to pimp Compa's breasts on a child. It' also afforded for much more coarse language than in the remake. This is one of the only swears Compa makes, but Wendee Lee put absolute _scorn_ into her portrayal of Blanc in the original, swearing her head off. Re;Birth1 is literally a night and day difference. The original game also has a soundtrack that loops the same five songs all throughout. I enhanced this so it would be enjoyable to people without having to suffer all of the problems of the original game. While there's no disputing that Re;Birth 1 is a significantly better game in terms of gameplay, I don't reach the same conclusion where the script and dialog are involved. Leaving aside Re;Birth 1 leaves large portions of its revised script untranslated, as much as 60% of it is totally different from the original. There are literally hundreds of jokes that were axed for Re;Birth 1, and while some of the English voice acting is stilted [this was the first effort afterall], most of it is on point. I wouldn't say that Re;Birth 1 is better than the original Neptunia; they are very different in a number of ways. This entire playlist specifically highlights that. This isn't to say I think negatively about Re;birth 1; the Vita remake is a great portable release of the original Neptunia and the Steam direct port of Re;Birth 1 is better than nothing for people unfortunate enough not to have a Vita. Yes the Steam version runs at a higher resolution, but it uses the same assets as the Vita release and loses the portability, which is not much gain for such a huge loss of the fundamental design. Still glad it exists though. Through the PC gamers, the series has become less of a niche.
man if the combat wasnt god awful in this game id love to experience it for myself. there is so much content that wasnt in rebirth, so much to explain about the world, that even held ground in rebirth 1 but wasnt explained at all in it. such a shame.

Satoshi Matrix The script sucks because they dont have any plan to milk this into long running franchise. its too serious for something with such character design, like moe anime character in warhammer 40k universe. Re;birth turn this random moeblob into referential comedy which will never run out of material as long as video game industry exist. This franchise now will run forever.
