- Film by J. Martin Warr of the intense activity behind the scenes at the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT Festival of motorcycling in August 2018. The highs and the lows of this great sporting event.
First-rate! Thank you, Mr. Warr. I hope this film finds its way to the attention of other classic motorcycle racers and fans everywhere just as it found its way to me.
Thank you Joseph. I hope sincerely that you enjoy my other films of the Island and elsewhere. ~ It's a great pleasure to be involved. ~ Stay safe!
Great work John. Really appreciate the effort, without people like you, all of these great bikes and characters are too easily forgotten. Why road racing never drew the fame it deserves I'll never know.
Thank you Sir! I have thoroughly enjoyed 20 years of Isle of Man racing activity having returned in 1998, after a break of some 34 years!
Filming is a new dimension for me and I have learned along the way with the constant forbearance of all the competitors and their support teams who make the two annual events such a pleasure.
The pandemic break has changed things so much, and we are all that much older, so I shall not be there this year. However, never say never! I shall hopefully be back again in 2023.
Thank you again for your comments and I share your opinion on the uniqueness of the sport.
Sincerely,
Martin Warr
So many absolutely beautiful machines from years gone by. I have to watch this vid several times just to fully take it all in.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed my film and I will do my best to get to the Island in 2022 to repeat the exercise. These visits keep us going, my first being in 1962. ~ Thank you. ~ JMW
Some nice pics here. Great bikes, the classics always bring mixed feelings for me, never scoff at them, never wanted one really, but I appreciate the legacy of those bikes....my dad used to ride a 60's (I think) 500cc twin exhaust BSA...that's all I can remember about it except it was black, red, and was extremely loud.
So they have a place in my heart....he raced it at Cadwell Park a few times.
Well done your Dad. An adventurer! Thanks for your interest ~ JMW
Fantastic work! Thanks very much for translate so well some of the atmosphere and give so many details about bikes, riders and teams.
A real document to make you feel the need to go there...
Thank you.
Many thanks for your kind words. I'm glad that I succeeded in capturing the atmosphere of the event behind the scenes. I hope that my race films too will be just as interesting even though with just one camera one can only be on one place. Thanks again. Sincerely, JMW.
you sir are doing a marvelous job of providing the most captivating coverage, report, scenes we can find on the whole internet. the most exciting races in the world, covered by the most interesting film maker in that field
Thank you Sylvan. You are most kind. I am just an enthusiastic amateur of 80+ and I first visited the TT in 1962.
@@johnmwarr 1962? the year i'm born lol.please, keep going providing some extraordinary images of the NI road races.i,personally ,can't get enough of your films.
The 80s green/blue/white Kawasaki ZX7 with the pool hoses over the tank an the dual round headlights, the GSXR 750/1100s with the dual headlights, and the Yamaha FZRs with the dual headlights are the ultimate classic crotch rockets.
Brave lads and lasses on great machines on an amazing circuit!
Thanks for your comment.
Another wonderful documentary! great images of classic racing.
Thanks William. Let's hope that it is drier in the Autumn as the organisers struggle to complete the TT programme this year.
fantastic viewing..thanks from australia
I am so pleased that you enjoyed these memories of great racing. Hopefully, I shall be back again next year to add to my collection but one takes nothing for granted as the years roll onwards!
Thank you again.
Sir, thank you for sharing this "jewellery" exhibition and inttroducing each of them one by one.
I haven't finished watching the whole video, yet as I will, in a more suitable time without interruption but I can say in advance it is a very good job. (And I liked the the barely heard tick-tacks in the backgroung of your calm voice, which I consider from a "classic" watch)
Thank you too for your gracious comments. I thoroughly enjoy my hobby and sharing the results with fellow enthusiasts such as you. I hope that you will have time to watch some of my other films and I shall be back again in 2019. ~ JMW.
Excellent excellent video.. I am now of an age where the classic races are more relevant as they are bikes I had in the late 80s and 1990s.. Stunning bikes so beautifully restored and maintained.. Thank you. 👍🏼
Good also to see Mark Parrett, I lived in the same village, South Harting, Sussex.. his dad (Jeff) was my Cubs Arkala in the early 1980s 😄
I am most grateful for your comments and I hope that some of the other films are to your liking (even the steam engines). Cubs! Once a cub, never forgotten, Bristol 55th pack in the late 1940s. ~ Happy days!
The Spinal Tap 'And Elsewhere' reference is brilliant.
Thanks for your comment.
The best Channel of the RUclips . I need to go in the classic tt
Thank you for your comment Marcos. Not long now before this year's event and another filming opportunity. A wonderful hobby which brings others pleasure too. JMW.
john, the best vid behind the scenes ive seen, keep up the good work.
Pitt passes if well used are a blessing to humanity. I fondly remember a mechanic waking up Gilles villeneuve 's Ferrari. The earth shock. I had foca photographers passes. Canon William's. But that old boxer 12.
Another fantastic video, try find us in the pits next year, we'll treat you to a beer or hot beverage, Jeff Smith #38 & #63.
Many thanks Jeff. I'll look forward to the beer and you can celebrate my 80th Birthday (God Willing!).
Jeff, Sorry I missed you this year but I hope you enjoy my output from this year which is still 'in production'. Kind regards ~ JMW

I enjoyed this 1 hour more than I did the last thousand hours of youtube vomit I’ve rinsed my eyes with. Thank you so much. Cheers from Beacon,NY
I am pleased that you found my film and will enjoy some of the others which I have shared on my channel. I too get a lot of pleasure from my hobby. Thanks again.
Great film mr Warr! Many thanks for sharing!
Many thanks. All being well this year's will be just as good but my filming of any active racing has been barred for TV company contractual reasons. Pity that, but I shall be able to use my still pictures. ~ JMW
Thank you sir. I am in the USA but someday hope to get to the TT. In the interim I will enjoy videos like yours.
Thank you Timothy, I am very pleased that you enjoyed it and that you will find some of my other films equally enjoyable. They are certainly a pleasure to make.
Excellent video .Thankyou .
I am so pleased that you enjoyed my film and I hope that you will find time to look at some of the others. It makes my hobby worthwhile. Thank you.
Another great video, you have a special talent for this
Thanks for your kind words David. I often consider those who wrestled with celluloid film in cutting rooms to produce their end-product and now we have readily available digital data and the associated software which allows us to concentrate soley on the subject matter. Although still photography has always interested me, I never realised the enjoyment that could be obtained from a creative task such as film-making. Maybe I shouldn't have chosen accountancy all those many years ago. Still, better as a retirement hobby I think because one has funded the other! Thanks again. JMW.
Beautifull machines. Great production. Old cafe racers. Gotta love em. Mv
#46 at 36:20 is the perfect 80s ZX7 in green/blue/white and the pool hoses and cool dual round headlights are covered or not on this bike.
Thank you.
Thank you too for your interest and I hope that you will watch this year's film too (2019). ~ JMW
man those bikes are emaculate very impressive
Yes indeed Cliff. The whole event is a credit to both the organisers and the competitors.
We also must not forget the Isle of Man public who have to live as normally as possible during the two weeks of the event.
Thank you for your interest but, sadly, I shall be unable to attend this year (2022) but remain optimistic for next year.
@@johnmwarr go well John MWarr

Great !!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it Kenny. (Including the trains). Many thanks.
i raced the Classic TT and Manx GP in 2013 ;-)
I'll have a look at my photographs Kenny and let you know whether I caught you in action. If so I will let you know via this system. Keep smiling! M.
I'm sorry, Kenny, 2013 was the one year that I didn't get to the Island because of sickness. I'd forgotten that. Still, here's to next year! Best regards. JMW.
