If you download multiple updates on the flash drive then plug it into the mother board. Will the motherboard go through all of them or do you have to flash each update separately?
Just doing the update on my B650, just AX V2 and I was wondering why it wouldnt start blinking. It turned on for a second and then turned off. I didnt push the USB far enough. Quite stressfull for first time builder :D
hello, couple of questions... Is it ok if i update the bios with my gpu, ram and cpu plugged in? Or atleast only with the cpu because the cooler is a bit tricky to come off. Also, when they release a new bios update file does it include the fixes from the previous updates? For example i have the version 1 and i want to jump to version 5, does version 5 include the fixes from 2,3,4?
yes that is fine, you can do it with a fully built system, it is just harder to diagnose it if it won't flash. and yes bios updates roll up previous versions
Is there a way to know which BIOS is the best or like a TOP? I've never updated my AORUS ELITE AX BIOS because I've read some reviews aboout some versions and I don't want to risk. What about updating the BIOS in the Gigabyte Center? Mine is rev 1.0 with F4 BIOS and it's working fine.
if it is working fine and you are happy with it don't update it. updates are usually bug fixes and security patches, with the occasional new cpu compatibility. If you aren't concerned with any of those and your system works, like i said leave it alone

I’ve just built my first PC using the V2 version of this board and it seems to be working fine. Should I still download and update the latest bios? I don’t understand what all the other files are on gigabytes website either but I can’t get the WiFi antenna that came with the board to work.
install the chipset drivers and the wifi drivers from the gigabyte site that will sort out the wifi issue. update the bios if you like, i do for security patches and improvements in stability but if yours is working okay it isn't totally necessary unless you have security concerns
Hi Mike, I have a problem with my b650m elite ax rev1.3, when I try to flash with the button the light only blinks for 10 seconds and then goes off but the cpu light is still on
I read where Mike said it could be an incompatible USB drive so the board won't be able to flash the bios. My efforts so far are only resulting in the machine turning on for a second or 2 when pressing the flash button, then guessing it's trying to read the usb drive, failing and turning off. So as a last resort what exact USB drive, make, model, size, is recommended? Also, I'm downloading using a Windows 11 system, but the board is on a Windows 10 system, so I'm using the Windows 10 links. If that matters? Good clear video, seems so easy! lol.. Thank you.
is there a point in doing this over updating bios through the bios if your pc is already fully built? and would the process be the same except i just go into bios and select the bios file instead of the qflash button?
@@mikesunboxing I have tried that and it didn't work. Would it matter in which slots they were inserted? I tried with one in the A2 slot, then removed it and tried with the other in the B2 one. More detailed: I downloaded some GCC updates and when my pc restarted the DRAM light was on and there was no connection to monitor/keyboard/mouse. I tried to reset memory with the manual button, and the red light was alternating between CPU and DRAM. I tried resetting the CMOS, and the DRAM light was the only one on. I tried booting with one of my two RAM sticks at a time to determine whether either of them was faulty, no difference. What else can I try? I've read online to flash my bios but I'm not sure how that would work if the monitor/keyboard/mouse aren't connected. Lastly, I attempted to flash bios but monitor won't respond. There is no signal.

Switched RAM position, cleared cmos, used display/hdmi straight to mother board and still a black screen. This was my last hope and yet it still didnt work. blinking for a few seconds is usually either a non supported USB stick or the file is wrong or damaged, try another drive maybe, or the board is just dead / dying

Hey mate, just found this video after painstakingly putting my pc together.
Ive disconnected everything from PSU except the 24pin atx power and 8 pin cpu connector. Ram and gpu removed, cpu and cooler still installed. A couple of things still on the board (fan hub, argb, pump etc).
Flashing with a new usb3.2 drive it, it runs for about a minute then shuts off.
that means it can't read the usb or the maybe the file, triple check you have the right file for the right version of the board.
There are a lot of reasons the BIOS update won't work as it should. If you are interested, we have made a video discussing common errors and some sanity checks you can make before considering returning the motherboard or taking it to a professional.

hello, couple of questions...
I followed the procedure as shown on your video. Unfortunately, there is no indication that there is power going to my motherboard.
Any idea?

Can I do a bios flash with the cpu and gpu and ram all installed or do I need to take everything out
either way should work
I’ve just built my first PC using the V2 version of this board and it seems to be working fine.
How I know its flashed or not? I have the b650 Aorus elite ax v2
if it takes about 5 minutes then stops flashing then it is pretty safe to say it worked
Hi Mike, I have a problem with my b650m elite ax rev1.3, when I try to flash with the button the light only blinks for 10 seconds and then goes off but the cpu light is still on
wrong file or the usb isn't compatible maybe
I read where Mike said it could be an incompatible USB drive so the board won't be able to flash the bios. My efforts so far are only resulting in the machine turning on for a second or 2 when pressing the flash button, then guessing it's trying to read the usb drive, failing and turning off. So as a last resort what exact USB drive, make, model, size, is recommended? Also, I'm downloading using a Windows 11 system, but the board is on a Windows 10 system, so I'm using the Windows 10 links. If that matters? Good clear video, seems so easy! lol.. Thank you.

@@mikesunboxing Thank you for the fast reply. Much appreciated.
is there a point in doing this over updating bios through the bios if your pc is already fully built? and would the process be the same except i just go into bios and select the bios file instead of the qflash button?
if the pc is working it is easier to update from inside the bios itself

Please, any ideas on what to do?
try one stick of ram at a time
@@mikesunboxing I have tried that and it didn't work. Would it matter in which slots they were inserted? I tried with one in the A2 slot, then removed it and tried with the other in the B2 one.
More detailed:
I downloaded some GCC updates and when my pc restarted the DRAM light was on and there was no connection to monitor/keyboard/mouse.
There is no signal.

blinking for a few seconds is usually either a non supported USB stick or the file is wrong or damaged, try another drive maybe, or the board is just dead / dying

if it is taking too long, that means it isn't flashing so it isn't a problem
