I feel like your videos just help train my eye. I would walk by so many of the scenes and not notice what you notice. So I appreciate these videos a lot
It’s amazing how you see things differently than me when I was in Japan. My grandma’s house is located a few stations east from there! Also, if you have interest in photo galleries, there’s Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in Meguro showcasing works of Masahisa Fukase right now.
Ahhh cool, I get that! I also love to see what others shoot in areas that I’m familiar with :D Ohh really!?😍 Thank you for the tip! The weather is currently quite grey so that sounds like a great activity for this kind of day☺️🙌🏼
I love the way each street almost has its own character as well as how peaceful it all seems despite being on the outskirts of the largest city in the world. My favourite shots are probably the Miyazaki style train photo and the one with the underpass near the end. Beautiful! Also, man I’m so happy you’re still out here doing these GX80 videos!
Exactly! That’s another thing I love about this place so much! Thank you!☺️🙌🏼 Ohh for sure! I’ve finally come to the conclusion that it’s probably my favourite camera☺️ I’m actually thinking about making a video on it🤔
Happy to see another GX85 user in 2023. I love mine, and despite having newer and larger Lumix M4/3 bodies, I still find that I gravitate to my GX85, 20 f/1.7, and 14 f/2.5. The later lens being a great fit for city architecture photography. Some of your shots really resonated with me. I liked the GoPro video followed by shot format. Many others have done it but it's nice because you can visualize how you would take the shot prior to seeing what the photographer took and processed.
Teo, because of your videos, tonight I'm gonna meet with a seller and I will have the Lumix GX-80 lol. I'm a beginner but your videos gave me the confidence to give it a try. Keep up the good work!
not that it matters to anyone, but i recently got scammed for my lumix gx80. i was selling it because i wasnt using it very offten, and i shipped it to them. well low and behold, i never got payed for it. now watching these videos back i shoulve never gotten rid of it.
I went to Japan a few weeks ago and I saw sakura blooming for the first time and took more photos than I ever did in a year in my home country. It was truly an amazing place!
i'm astonished!! I'm Japanese and have been watching your channel since you had 2000 subscribers. And when I finally arrived in Japan, it was my hometown. All the places you've photographed and toured are familiar places. I'm very happy! I hope to see you again when you come to Japan!!!!!!!
I went to Japan in 2017 and just fell in love with photography at that moment.I took a lot of photos there, although there are many waste films but they are full of memories.I really want to go there again, but I am too busy with work now. The view in this video photo is so different from common Japanese photos, there are no crowds, trains, taxis, torii, u know, just your style! This video reminds me of the trip 5 years ago, thank you very much.(btw I like the pink photo at 20:00 which has the feel of the work of photographer Nguan.)
This was such a great video Teo! I love all the potted plants decorating the homes in Tokyo! It was very smart of you to focus on a few different things to photograph repeatedly on your trip. I think you will have quite a few strong photo series because of that! Also wow I love that pink building!
Ahhh glad you enjoyed it! Yes there are a couple themes here that have caught my interest :D Ohh yes, me too - I’ve seen it a couple times when walking to the train station but never got the chance to shoot it in good conditions until now hehe☺️🙌🏼
Somehow I could not watch this Japan series when it went out, but I'm so glad I remembered about it today ! It's such a nice and calming atmosphere, and I'm learning so much thanks to your vision and explanations 🌸
Even the 'skippable' shots tell a story of the area within the larger context, i'm glad you included them, adds a wider context for those of us who aren't familiar with the area. Would love to see a follow up on the plant pot and vending machine collections, it's those details that I love to discover and observe in new locations.
おかえりなさい!So amazing to see one of my favorite photographers in Japan! Especially in the western Tokyo, it’s where I grew up so watching someone else take photos around the area was super interesting 😆😆 Enjoy your stay here! Can’t wait to see more of your Japan photo adventures!
I live in the suburbs of Tokyo, so I see scenery like this every day, but your cropping made the scenery look fresh to me. Thanks for the very nice video.
Haven't had a chance to comment before now. Your videos always make me want to pick up a camera. That you have Japanese heritage explains a little (at least to me!) of why I follow your channel. Absolutely love Japan. I've been there twice in the past 6 months, looking forward to spending much more time there in the near future. I have a few modest photography projects in mind for Tokyo. Such a great city.
Thank you for this amazing photowalk! Your photos are stunning!😍I want to go to Japan so bad and now my desire rised 100000% more. Hope that some day it will happen.
So many beautiful compositions! I love the contrast between the greenery, the bright streets that pop with colours, and the few shady photos. The pink building looks so functionalist and intimidating and yet so cute and jigglypuff-ish. It's great to hear all your comments too. Have a nice time with your family and exploring Japan! ((Honestly, after the last few videos I was beginning to worry a little that you might not be doing too well, so it's great to see that you were busy traveling.))
Hei Teo, I've been watching you for a few days mainly because you have very nice content with the gx80, coming from shooting film I was looking for an alternative (film becoming expensive lately), at the beginning I had in mind a camera with ccd sensor but now I'm thinking more of ditching that idea. Cheers and keep it up!
You may believe it or not. I was looking for a perfect compact camera because I was planning to visit Japan. I bought my GX80 last week because I loved the photos you had taken with it in the previous videos. I fell in love with this camera immediately. It's small yet powerful. And now we are here. You are in Japan now with your GX80. I hope it’s my sign that I also will be there soon. Love your work! Keep going! 🫵🏻🥇
Aww thanks! :) Most of the time the scanners are not a problem. Just make sure you take them in your hand luggage, because the scanners of the check-in luggage are apparently much stronger. Also I've been told by the staff that anything below iso 1600 is safe. I brought a roll of Lomo 800 to Japan and that worked fine :)
It’s really interesting for me to know what scenery in Japan you get gravitated towards as a photographer because a lot of the time those things are normal for us and never get to pay attention to until I watch this video! 素敵なビデオ!今スタバで見てるよ👀✨

I don't have a camera yet because they are too expensive where i live but hope ill buy it one day! im probably gonna go for the Lumix gx80 that you used in the video when i get enough money, and untill then ill appreciate the photos you take! (even tho it might take like a year till i get it :/.)

Love your videos. Used to do a lot of walks like this in Chicago, then after 2020 you constantly have to keep your head on a swivel with all these idiots and zombies walking around trying to either rob you or start a fight.
