Before I watch, I have to say that you're incredible at what you do. It's really inspiring to see people like yourself in this medium, who have the potential to go above and beyond RUclips.
i LOVE the shot of the group of freinds where the one guy noticed you, its kinda magical in the way that he stopped his moment for the photo and he is also smiling in a way that makes you think hes in on a joke just him and the photographer understand whereas the rest of the scene moves naturally, its an incredible shot!
the walkthrough video alone already a masterpiece. i've always find your videos so enjoyable because you walk us through how you see things and people in such serene kind of way, plus that the very soothing voice of you (i didn't know you speak Japanese!). あなた は very かっこいい です (37 days streak on duolingo, excuse the mistake haha)
great video Teo - maybe my favorite photo-walk episode of your's yet. I really appreciate the commentary that you always include regarding composition, timing, colors, etc.
This Japan trip has really triggered a different kind of photography more open towards the human element in the frame - I hope you are bringing this back to other locations (Vienna/Austria). Great work, wonderful shots and wonderful narration with them. Thoroughly enjoyed this video! And yes, the film is just plain old Kodak Vision with the remjet layer removed - just like Cinestill.
Loved these photos so much! It's interesting how these images where the eye sneak into an interior space (from outside), gazing at someone, almost always render great results (to me, at least); definitely took note of that for future experiments.
I'm at peace. The voiceovers with the background music while we watch your slow but perfect adventure from the taken pictures and the POV make me melt. I mean, i truly find peace at this moment. This is what i needed cause I was stressed out today (like usual). I apritiate the hard work you delivered and I hope we will see more of your art. Blessed to discover your channel for sure!
Awesome video Teo! You picked the perfect location to test this film out! I love how the photo at 3:14 captured that cook behind the curtain and also how the photo of the two ladies sitting in the restaurant at 7:11 almost perfectly mirrors that photo you took of the two men in Shinjuku. Great stuff!
the red hat at 4:25 and the blue one at 17:16 really caught my attention, im not sure why but i really liked them in the photo. very much amazed by your compositions and skills, you really do inspire me to continue my journey with photography.
The beginning of this video is amazing and so so cinematic, I'm a newer viewer coming back to some of your older content and just...wow. Such good work!
your videos are always amazing. i like how you critique every photo and say what you'd want to improve. great work, i'm very glad you're gaining popularity :)
I love the look of this film, the tungsten balance really gives these photos a similar look to the movie Chungking Express which is one of my favourite films
I think it’s one of the best rolls I’ve seen by you. Absolutely phenomenal. I was wondering what shutter speed did you use? Since you didn’t use a tripod at all
Hearing you speak Japanese was super awesome as a half Japanese person lol. absolutely love the content, hope to catch you on your next visit to Japan! 宮崎県から応援したます!
Japan really does look like a photographers heaven, can't wait for my trip late next month. One question though, where would you recommend buying film when in Tokyo?
Ohhh you‘re going!? Amazing, I wish you the best of time!🤩 Honestly I wouldn’t particularly recommend buying film in Japan, except you‘re looking for lesser known films and have the time to go look for it😅 I had a hard time buying Fujifilm because of Fuji‘s production issues. All the big shops were sold out and only had Kodak, which however in Japan is pretty expensive. But if you want to try something lesser known you could check out Lemon Camera in Shinjuku. This film I bought in Champ Camera, which however is not located in Tokyo👀
Another great video! But that K1000, you're tempting me too much 🤣 Think I need to find one myself, almost worth it only for the shutter sound on its own
Japan is such a good place for phography 🤩 Great series. The photo at 22:05 reminds me of Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, inspiring solitude and loneliness. I love it!
7:43 kind of reminds me of a scene in wong kar wai’s “as tears go by” when andy lau fights people in a restaurant. that scene was also blue. great video!

How do you build courage or confidence to take photos that include people? I find it so hard to muster up the courage all the time. 😅

i really love the photograph at 4:34! it actually made me say wow outloud your videos are very inspiring and motivating for me to be creative - love it!
Hi men, love your work and night photos they just hits different. I got a question regarding how do you deal with apperture in this situations, i mean I always missfocus when I shot at less than f 5.6 but you seems to manage it very nice and always hace a totally focused photos. do you just shot the photos at 1/60 in order to obtain a totally focus image at f 8 or 11? or do you open at f/2 at 1/250? Thank you in advance! Sorry for my english 😁
From the light meter (and the depth of field) it seems the aperture is pretty wide - f/2-f/2.8. The K1000 has a focus screen, so I guess focusing may be a bit easier than on a digital camera, but it still surely requires a lot of practice and luck.
@@dominik.zemanek.97 Well noted man! I shoot my photos with a nikon FM (50mm f/2 and 20mm f3.5 lenses ), but always when I open the apperture I always missfocus, so I disregard a possible damage on the camera. Do you know a way for obtaing higher chances of obtain more focused images on this wider appertures ? again, thanks for your feedback.
@@orfer098 I honestly know next to nothing about this topic, but if the picture seems in focus in the viewfinder but not in the photos, then there must be something wrong inside the camera - between the lens and your eye - maybe the mirror angle needs an adjustment. If it's not about back / front focusing but about the whole image being blurry at wider apertures (aberration), then perhaps it's the lenses.
Great video and shots! Just wondering, do you shoot wide open to get a fairly "fast" shutterspeed? Don't seed motion blur on the people so I guess iso640 is okay with the amount of citylights there :)
Hi Teo, great video and photos, very inspiring, I use a pentax sportmatic myself, can you tell me what lenses you use in the video? thanks in advance for the reply
Soon as I saw you load the film I knew it was a older Pentax :). I own one of the Spotmatic 500s and love it.. For 35mm camera I really think the older metal body Pentax cameras are very hard to beat :). Great photos

This was such a great watch! What an amazing video :) I love how we can hear your shutter snap, and then you show the picture straight after. I was constantly finding myself going back and forward in the video to see what you "saw", with just your eye, shown to us via your vlogging head cam... and then being able to see how that composition came out on the film camera! Absolutely fantastic :) Tokyo is a city I dream of visiting one day. Thank you for making this video. I have one question though, are you doing any post production editing on your photos? Even just cropping or framing? The photo at 17:49 is absolutely insane! Those colours are gorgeous! Even the framing. I am wondering if you are lining up the verticals in post, or you are just really good at doing this in the moment, with the camera?
P.S. you voice is also very ASMR-like hahaha it was lovely to hear you narrate your videos around a cyberpunk night time Tokyo :) Superb video my friend. Please do more like this.
Hi Teo, nice video as always, love the vibes ! May I know what objectives, aperture and shutter speed you used to be able to do handheld night photography ?
Im so curious too! Most night videos I’ve watched uses a tripod and shutter release cable, but Teo’s shutter clicks sounds so quick and all the photos turn out sharp and bright and beautiful. I’d love to know the settings 😊😊
Nicely done and narrated all around. It’s uncanny how you and I have very similar tastes, locales, and technique. I spent several nights recently taking nighttime photo walks mostly with CS800T, mostly with an OM-4ti, and mostly in the entertainment district around Shimbashi Station (a little in Shibuya, Ueno, and Yurakucho too), which I recommend for your next outing if you haven’t done it already.
Hi, you inspired me to start film photography and I’m always excited to see your new videos. May I know what light meter application you’re using on your phone?
Hello. I'm just getting back into film photography after a break of about 20 years. I like that you use the K1000. It was one of my first cameras. Now I've bought an Asahi Pentax SV, a camera that predates internal light metering. I'm shooting my first roll of ASA200 Kodak color film and guess-timating exposures, keeping a record of frame, aperture and shutter speed, so I can see later this month when it's developed where I was off and by how much. I would be very interested in how you set your exposures at night so as to balance adequate brightness, depth of field and action-stopping shutter speed. At least as a starting point. (1/60th at f5.6?) Did you rely on the light meter at all? I noticed you were constantly adjusting the shutter speed. Aperture, too? Did you shoot the film at its rated speed? Have you looked at the SV?
Beautiful Video as usual. Do you know how the Laws concerning street photograhy are in Japan? The people always seem so chill, I´m having a hard time taking pictures of people here in Germany especially when they are facing me.
New viewer, but any Australia trip plans? We're an extremely diverse continent, so more than enough moods to capture! From the skyscrapers and laneways of our big cities, to the snowy tall rainforests & peaks of Tasmania; the nostalgic bubbling hillsides of river red gums to the waterfalls of Kakadu
Love all the shots in this video, I will be traveling to Japan next month. Is it okay to shoot on the street in Tokyo? I'm a bit shy. Will definitely try the Cyberpunk 640T. Any tips on the night film photography? Nice work, keep it up!!
I can really recommend you Light Me for metering! It doesn't require you to take a photo each time and I think it also shows you a bit more information :) Ohh and beautiful photos, my favorite is 17:04

I plan on going to Japan hopefully in the next year and will also be taking street photography. Is there anything I should know before doing so that is specific to Japan?
Hi Daniel, ahhh not really haha. I assume you’re not too deep into film photography yet? Basically there is no such thing as a “pure” look of the film. Even just the exposure will make a massive difference. Then the developing can also influence the look. And finally the scanning is the strongest factor I’d say. Depending on which scanner you use and how you convert your negative to a positive the photo can look drastically different. That is the reason why I scan my negatives myself, because I don’t want to loose the control over that part and pay a lab for potentially bad scans. About a year ago I made a video in which I dive a little deeper into this topic, in case you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/tpYu3iz71u0/видео.html&feature=sharec

見慣れた街もあなたが撮ると美しく見えます!
閉店後のラーメン屋の写真が好きです。wkw の映画みたい!
красиво.... хочу научиться видеть красоту в том месте, где я живу, и это не япония😁 beautiful... i want to learn to see the beauty of the place where i live and it's not japan

I’d rather shoot this over cinestill any day of the week I like this MUCH MORE
Captivating
Amazing Photos!
Great stuff, that film really is a cinestill clone! What's the light meter app you use?
I like this video a lot. Do you overexpose when you photograph at night When you take the photos or do you take the photos as the measure give you?
I plan on going to Japan hopefully in the next year and will also be taking street photography. Is there anything I should know before doing so that is specific to Japan?
Looks like pictures from 70’s-80’s movie
4:35 this tone and place reminds me of WongKarWai
Hi Teo, could you tell me whether the pictures have been post-processed or are they "pure" from the film? Cheers, Daniel.
About a year ago I made a video in which I dive a little deeper into this topic, in case you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/tpYu3iz71u0/видео.html&feature=sharec
really inspiring stuff!
