Big E beat 1 of these pieces and sealed them inside Mars, which ultimately led to the Mechanicus worshipping this C'Tan shard named Void Dragon that they thought were the Omnissiah. I doubt Big E, as impresive as he is, can beat a C'Tan at their peak. Friendly reminder this is the race that went toe-to-toe with both Eldar and Korks (bigger, smarter Orks that's the size of parking garages). Their "mages/technicians" Crypteks have been practicing their race's "magic" stuff even before the human race were a thing. 1 of their dynasty have a weapon that, basically with a push of a button, cooks a system's sun. Good thing they're winning and expanding right now, because if they start losing, would be a shame if some robotic finger accidentally fat-fingered that button and cooks the Emperor on his throne.

you don't need to remember everything i've been in this franchise for 2 years now and after listening to over 80 books i still find new and interesting things about the series the community is an amazing bunch and it is always up to welcoming someone else in

About Mars and the nuking. There was a long civil war (simplified) and ofcourse they had nukes, and ofcourse they used the nukes. Everybody went into hideyholes (except some, who became mutants and would be killed off) and 5000 years later being an electrician or a car mechanic is treated as being a priest of sorts. I recommend the books "The Great Work" and "Genefather" if you want some character driven novels about the (debatably) smartest beings in the galaxy, Arch Magos Belisarius Cawl and Fabius Bile of the Emperor's Children Legion.
What's funny to me as a Necron player is whenever some Ad Mech saying the Omnissiah is the best, I just thinks to myself: "Should we tell him they're worshipping a C'Tan shard? Legit, 1 of the books mentioned how current humanity met a time travel AI ship from the Golden age of technology, it was so disgusted with 40k era humanity that it easily shutdown the Imperium's ship, and just nopes out of there.

Also the C'tan shard thing isn't necessarily what they are worshipping, since they worship outside of Mars and the whole Machine Spirit stuff seems to work outside Mars aswell. It might've been the trigger for the religious worshipping but it is not what they're praying -to-.
Infinite & Devine is the really good book for Necrons you was probably referring to. The main Necron character is funny and such a good character to follow.
Terra being the latin word for Earth, is considered the real name of the planet by many. But it is still Earth, just in another language. So really just pendantry.
GW do this to make their names stand out, nothing more nothing less. Just like how if you translate "Corvus Corax" you simply get "Crow", or how instead of "taking photos" they call it "pict-grabs"

In other words, the primarchs biological mother. But she saw visions of the future awaiting the primarchs, and as a desperate mother she either told the chaos gods to teleport them or she teleport them by herself.
i've heard all of his recommendations except gaunts ghosts as audio book, they are all fantastic. I highly recommend ciaphus cain, fantastic characters and a good breadth of lore, lots of orks, necrons and chaos. And i find listening to Audiobooks way easier then reading, because i listen on the way to and from work, or while shopping or sports.
I'll add on to the recommendation of The Infinite and The Divine. Very good Necron book, great humor and gives them alot of personality. If you want something more darker and serious, I'd recommend the Night Lord Trilogy. Gives insight into what it's like to live the life of a Chaos Space Marine. Humanises them abit and makes you feel for them, until they rip the face of someone and your reminded they're evil.
of all the books Bricky recommended I would highly suggest you start with the Infinite and Divine. Its all about necrons and in particular trazyn, The necrons greatest museum curator, and his rival Orikan, a necron time wizard. there is some comedy and intense moments all while not demanding your dedication to reading a dozen books to get a full grasp of everything. If you want to know more in a more compact time "Warrior tier" does a great video as trazyn thus giving you a feel of his manurisims and interests or lore wise i recommend "Isyander and koda"
The long awaited return to Bricky content. It's a pity that he only has another three videos on Warhammer lore (The two part video on the Factions and the one on which army you should play on the table top. I recommend all of them, if for no other reason then for entertainment sake.)

Erebus (fuck Erebus) was alerted by the chaos gods of what the emperor was doing and so sent some Word Bearers loyal to him through a time warp in the warp to sabotage a warp shield in the emperor's lab were he was making the primarchs. Then he grabbed Horus and said your Dad's an asshole come meet my cooler gods, walked Horus through another time warp in the warp into the lab to see his infant form, which upon seeing began to shake the primarch's faith in his father's vision. This much warp fuckery tore a hole in the warp, in the lab, and the baby primarchs got sucked through and scattered throughout the galaxy. TL:DR Fucking Erebus. Why is there a warp rift under the golden throne? Magnus wanted to warn the emperor about Horus' betrayle and so tore a warp tunnel between himself and the golden throne to send a message. There were shields to protect the golden throne from warp fuckery but Magnus tore them down on the warp side to send the message. However, (and I think this is because of Erebus again) the message didn't get sent but the tear remained. Now there is a there is a warp rift that spews forth demons which the custodese have to fight off, inside the golden throne room. TL:DR Fucking Magnus and Erebus. Addtional lore note: The Emperor used to eat 1000 psyker's a day, but his wounds have worsend over time and he has become more hungry. Now he needs 10s of thousands, which since the great re-awakening he can get because so much more of humanity are becoming psykers.

It's about the return of Lion El Jonson, the Primarch of the Dark Angels and him reacting to all the changes while also trying to unite Dark Angels and other Imperial forces to fight against Chaos space marines. The narrator Timothy Watson does a perfect Lion El Jonson voice, IMO. I'd recommend it, since you're interested in getting his model. It has a 5-star rating on Audible.

The Horus Heresy was a truly bloody conflict, in the span of roughly 9 Standard Terran Years, 2.3 Trillion people died on the Loyalist side with a couple Billion more on the Traitor side, and following the conclusion of the Heresy, the Great Scouring (A conflict that pushed the Traitor Legions and other Chaos forces into the Eye of Terror) resulted in another 2.3 Trillion dead from Imperial purges, so in the span of around 10-15 years, over 4.6 Trillion people died in only 2 relatively short conflicts just perfectly describes how destructive the Warhammer 40k universe is

If I may recommend another warhammer lore tuber, Isyander & Koda is their channels names. One with a voice like ASMR and his friend that he drags along into his rants. They do other franchises, like Dune and Mass Effect. I can't recommend them enough, so have fun.

The chaos gods were able to yeet the primarchs because they manipulated their mum Erda into yeeting her sons because she wanted to keep the emperor from using them for his great crusade.
I'm not certain how canon this is, but the story i heard of the origin of the Emperor was that at some point, every one of the countless thousands of existing Psykers that lived on Terra, inexplicably decided to kill themselves at the exact same time. The moment they did, the Emperor was born.
The reason why Mars nuked itself and destroyed its atmosphere was because every faction on Mars was fighting each other for resources because they lost trade and communication with Terra at the time

As to why the primarchs were scattered by chaos, chaos genuinely fears the Emperor even after his (almost) death and wanted to hamstring his efforts as much as possible. Though in the new (bad) lore they also have a mother who helped chaos do this (even though she was fully aware that chaos was evil bad stuff) idk it doesn’t really make sense in the new lore

Bricky is wrong when he calls the Imperium of man fascist. It's authoritarian, sure but it's not fascist. It's a theocratic oligarchy. People calling the Imperium fascist is like people calling calling tomatoes vegetables when they're actually a fruit. He's also wrong about the theme of 40K. It's about the cycle of life and rebirth. 40K is supposed to be the death of mankind and it's struggle to survive in a galaxy completely inimical to mankind. It's the same with the War in Heaven killing off the Old Ones. The same thing happened to the Eldar to which Mankind took over. After the Imperium fell, the Tau were supposed to take over from mankind. I can't quite remember if my memory is playing tricks on me but I'm... 70-30 sure that there was a, or there was supposed to be a campaign where the Emperor stepped down from the Golden Throne, assembled the loyalist primarchs and went on a final crusade to end the threat of Chaos once and for all (I think this was supposed to be for the Tau were released). They changed their mind when they realised that this would end 40K and what they'd realised was a massive cashcow and nothing happened with it.
Exactly, the Tau are ironically the most fascist of the bunch. Eldar are the actual communists (with japanese and greek culture thrown in the mix), the orks are capitalists, Nids are simply hive mind bugs, Chaos is humanity+daemons, Druhkari are meritocratic, Necrons are dynastical, The cult of mars are morons, Votann is literally just Scandinavia.

Also, anyone who wants to try it on steam, remember you have to start it in steam's offline mode (since the cloud servers it tries to connect are only half-there and will freeze the game), but other than that, it works 100% as is

I'm not certain how canon this is, but the story i heard of the origin of the Emperor was that at some point, every one of the countless thousands of existing Psykers that lived on Terra, inexplicably decided to kill themselves at the exact same time. The moment they did, the Emperor was born.

As to why the primarchs were scattered by chaos, chaos genuinely fears the Emperor even after his (almost) death and wanted to hamstring his efforts as much as possible. Though in the new (bad) lore they also have a mother who helped chaos do this (even though she was fully aware that chaos was evil bad stuff) idk it doesn’t really make sense in the new lore
Also as to why not kill them, so that they could set up the events of the heresy to kill the emperor

Bricky is wrong when he calls the Imperium of man fascist. It's authoritarian, sure but it's not fascist. It's a theocratic oligarchy. People calling the Imperium fascist is like people calling calling tomatoes vegetables when they're actually a fruit.
He's also wrong about the theme of 40K. It's about the cycle of life and rebirth. 40K is supposed to be the death of mankind and it's struggle to survive in a galaxy completely inimical to mankind. It's the same with the War in Heaven killing off the Old Ones. The same thing happened to the Eldar to which Mankind took over. After the Imperium fell, the Tau were supposed to take over from mankind.
I can't quite remember if my memory is playing tricks on me but I'm... 70-30 sure that there was a, or there was supposed to be a campaign where the Emperor stepped down from the Golden Throne, assembled the loyalist primarchs and went on a final crusade to end the threat of Chaos once and for all (I think this was supposed to be for the Tau were released). They changed their mind when they realised that this would end 40K and what they'd realised was a massive cashcow and nothing happened with it.
Exactly, the Tau are ironically the most fascist of the bunch. Eldar are the actual communists (with japanese and greek culture thrown in the mix), the orks are capitalists, Nids are simply hive mind bugs, Chaos is humanity+daemons, Druhkari are meritocratic, Necrons are dynastical, The cult of mars are morons, Votann is literally just Scandinavia.
