The Nature Cam at the DuPont Nature Center in Mispillion Harbor

In 2016, 302 Stories installed a wireless HD Nature Cam system at the DuPont Nature Center (DNC) on Delaware Bay in Milford ,Delaware. There were considerable design and construction challenges (which are mentioned in this short video), but the results have been impressive. During May, when the migratory shorebirds (including red knots) arrived to feed on horseshoe crab eggs, we streamed this HD signal live on the web. The shorebird and crab activity was viewed by thousands around the globe. Meanwhile, visitors to the Center could remotely operate the camera and zoom in on individual shorebirds, including some that were banded.
