    Thank you so much for this video. Had it playing as I was setting mine up and it went flawless.

    brilliant video, saved me so much time and stress. When mine started printing the cube it got really noisy but discovered the fan at the front of the head was rubbing the yellow housing!

    I just received one of these to review and have yet to unbox it. (It looks identical to the Newereal M18-S I reviewed a few months ago, just bigger) One tip...I heat the bed to 60C, let it stabilize, then do the bed leveling. I also don't use paper but a feeler gauge 😀

    Interesting printer. I like how tidy the wires are ribbon cables instead. Touch screen is cool. No Bowden tube as well. Thank you for the video left a like

    Did you try the autoload option rather than jamming in the filament so hard?

    • @RCwithAdam1
      @RCwithAdam1  3 года назад

      You have to do both. It requires a little force and jiggling to get the filament into the extruder, and then you must use the auto load feature since it is not possible to disengage the extruder gears.

    Just got mine in from Amazon, and got it set up and going. I had the same issue with the extruder that you did, had to jam that guy in there! I appreciated having this video to side by side with me while I figured things out. Well done!

    I can't get nozzle to heat up to 200.

    • @RCwithAdam1
      @RCwithAdam1  3 года назад

      Hmm. From the main menu (if not printing) Go to TOOLS>PREHEAT>Tap on the bottom left icon to switch from BED to NOZZLE>Tap the + icon to increase the temperature number, and it will start heating up. Let me know if this helps!

      Same happened to me - blank Micro SD card. Also, machine was faulty and extruder went UP when I started levelling process and wouldn't stop!!! I returned it all and got another printer which works fine.

    next time you put the micro sd card in upsidedown first please dont cut that part out so that i actually know which way to put it in and dont put it in upsidedown. other than that great video thanks for the help.

      Thanks for letting me know! It is annoying how they orient the card slots, isn't it!

    • @Avetorro
      @Avetorro 2 года назад

      Be careful as on mine the gap below the slot is big enough to push the card in and it ends up stuck in there. Not a very good fit at all.

    Your video has been very helpful but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. I used it to help me pack the printer and it’s components back in its box and return for a refund as it was totally useless. Maybe I got a bad one but I do see a lot of disappointed buyers out there. How did you find it after having it for some time?

    The ribbon cables are clean, but brittle and break easily

    WARNING !!!
    I have discovered a very serious and potentially highly dangerous flaw with the Fokoos Odin5.
    When the ribbon connector that connects to the print head becomes worn over time it can lead to highly erratic temperature readings, for me this lead to thermal runaway with the hotend reaching over 300 degrees centigrade, smoke was pouring out of the print head and this could have lead to a real disaster if I hadn't been in the room when it happened.
    Please anyone who reads this help to get the word out there, this is a very serious issue and could possibly lead to tragedy.
    Thanks for your time and stay safe.

    I dont know why would someone spend money on this piece of a joke like this... And why the chinese think it's OK to install ribbon cable on high current load?? It was interesting to see it going though... Printers like this are the reason I build my own, from scratch, at least I know everything is done right.
