Ahhh. Neil Finn is one of the all time great songwriters. Crowded House are easy listening banger after banger. Nick Seymour on bass is the brother of Mark Seymour - lead singer of another great Australian band ‘Hunters & Collectors’. I particularly love their performance of this song at their farewell concert at the Sydney Opera House. Not a dry eye on stage, and it was the last time we got to see them with drummer Paul Hester, RIP.
Gotta love Crowded House, they’re masters of the melancholy earworm. I recommend you check out Fall At Your Feet, Weather With You, Four Seasons In One Day and Better Be Home Soon. So many good songs to choose from.
@@SeeJay81 Yeah, I'm probably not (Sorry, couldn't resist 😂) I love that one too, I just tried to keep it at four, in the hope that Bryson does a deep dive.
The drummer died after this album, it won a MTV Video Music Ward 1986. Neil Finn the singer played in his older brothers band Called........."Split Enz". An Excellent Band From New Zealand.
I've always loved this song. "Don't Dream It's Over" is the fourth single from CH's self-titled debut album (1986); it was written and composed by the lead singer, Neil Finn. DDIO became the band's biggest international hit, peaking at #2 on the Hot 100, #1 in Canada, #1 in NZ (where Neil is from), and the top 15 in several other countries.
Neil Finn is one of the great pop songwriters of our time. His songs are so gorgeous. He was in the band Split Enz before Crowded House, and I highly recommend Message to My Girl by Split Enz. For Crowded House, there are so many great songs, but i would recommend When You Come and Distant Sun.
I love this band. One of my favourite albums of all time is "Together Alone". Which IMO is their masterpiece work. Pick any song off that album or maybe even listen to the whole album. Richly emotional, varied instruments including some native and above all else very very catchy. I won't lie it made my day to see you react to this song. This is their most well known song. I do hope you continue listening to Crowded House. Thank you. ❤
@@boydpaul7788They Kiwis but the drummer was obviously Australian they practically casted themselves in Australia mate we adopted them i think they have another Australian in the band forgot
Omgoodness my personal top favorite 80’s song! Seriously. Beautiful! This song will never get old for me. “And I’m counting the steps to the door of your heart”. Ugggg 💕👌🏼
Love a bit of crowded house.they have a particular sound that you need at a particular time to fill a particular hole or feeling you need. Four seasons in one day, fall at your feet are favs of mine.
I love Crowded House so much! Saw them live in 2010 and they were absolutely amazing. Some other songs by them you should check out are Something So Strong, Better Be Home Soon & Chocolate Cake. The singer, Neil Finn, was previously in the 80s new wave group Split Enz with his brother Tim. They're another band you should check out sometime.
Before Crowded House, Neil and Tim Finn, were in the most fabulous and unique band Spit Enz. Earlier in their career they were really quirky and it was actually Tim who performed a lot of the songs - and the band were incredibly theatrical. Listen to I Hope I never off True Colours where Neil Finn sings and breaks my heart. And no falsetto - he knew how to use his head voice. You should really check out their early stuff from Dizrthymia. The quirkiest brilliant theatrical album full of interesting production and live - MEMERISING. And the lyrics are so clever.
I had a friend who lived in Dublin Ireland for a few years and once he was in a studio trying to lay down some tracks and this guy that he described as this goofy dude walked by and waved at everyone and after he left the studio my friend said who the heck was that and they said all that's the bass player for crowded house, he owns this place ha ha...just goes 2 show u can be a musical genius and no one recognizes u!
Love Crowded House, quirky music. Maye view Travis' (a Scottish Band,) " Why Does it Always Rain on me" is a very good watch maybe, similar sound p.s. Watch till the very last second.
Oh I adore crowded house! Don’t dream it’s over and ‘weather with you’😍🥹 beautiful songs. I was 12 or 13 when these songs came out and they still sound as good now as they did then. Even more lovely for me is when my two boys aged 12 & 16 join in when they hear these classics. I think I’ve taught them well 😂 Another recommendation is ‘Looking for Linda’ by Hugh and Cry 🥰🥹
Neil Finn one of the all time greats, you should try ‘fall at your feet’, dust from a distant sun, pineapple head and Catherine Wheel. A stung body of work
Oh, Crowded House, a band I didn't expect you to be reacting to on your channel, though you are a purveyor of your music so I am glad you did. So many good songs to recommend. I've seen a Fall at your Feet in the comments already, I think, that's a very good song, as are Four Seasons In One Day, Weather With You, Private Universe, Distant Sun, and one that I heard yesterday and can't get out of my head, It's Only Natural. Please react to more Crowded House, a great Kiwi band!!!
I'm so glad you still did the original, even though you've heard covers, no one can sing a Neil Finn song like he can. All their songs are beautifully crafted and the musical arrangement is always perfection, and yes, you should definitely listen to all of the songs mentioned in the other comments, lol. Thanks Bryson. ❤

4 seasons in one day is one of my favorite songs ever. Along with everything you mentioned and "you're not the girl you think you are"

I always tell my husband “you’ll never see the end of the road while you’re traveling with me “! We are so in love (35 years and 4 kids later) ❤❤❤❤❤
The Hammond organ is stunning.

I echo the love for this song and "Fall at your feet". I saw them live in the mid 2000s and it was blissful.
👍Fall at your feet is so serene!!

Message to My Girl has NEVER left my Playlist
Love Disembodied Voices
One of my favorites. The Finn Brothers can write damn catchy songs.
Gold Class Aussie/NZ band. Magic music.
Neil is such a legend, his voice is awesome.
This is such a stunningly beautiful song. One of my favorite covers of it is, oddly enough, from Glee, sung by the late Cory Monteith.
Love this song. Beautiful.

I believe this was a number 1 hit!
Another great Aussie band who sound so great live.
Kiwi band 😂

We can see a classic scene with this song, on the TV show "Miami Vice" in the 1980's, (in last scene of the episode: 'Rock and a Hard Place')
Omgoodness my personal top favorite 80’s song! Seriously. Beautiful! This song will never get old for me.

I absolutely love Crowed House. Especially this song, it really brings back some great memories.
An absolute classic. Brings me chills and childhood memories.
Yes, it's a great song. Just discovered now. I liked your interpretation. It can go in different directions.
❤❤❤❤

Interesting fact re: Neil Finn; he sang "Song of the Lonely Mountain" from The Hobbit.

So glad to see you back doing 80s music Bryson. Have kind of missed your content since you've not been doing much 80s/90s music lately.
Stan Walker did a phenomenal cover of this song
If you haven't reacted to/listened to it yet, I thoroughly recommend "Fall at Your Feat" by Crowded House as a follow up.
Fall At Your Feet is a pretty damn good song too.

Thanks for covering this. Try their first album. So many good songs.
Thanks for watching!

So many great songs by Crowded House! A personal favourite that doesn't get reacted to much is Mean to Me.

The 80's, 80's, 80's
Great song, you should give a listen to “Into Temptation “
The original is still the best! Love it!
Now you've opened the door to a new level Bryson. Neil Finns songwriting is up there with McCartney and Lennon's.
blessed 80s..!
loved this track. Think you'd like Dream Academy Life in a northern town.
Snare brought to you by the late Paul Hester RIP
Watch. Take the. weather With You..Crowdwd House❤😊❤
Neil Finn is a great singer. Before this he was with Split Enz...I Got You, One step Ahead of You/ They are kiwis.

Original way better than those remixes
