Underrated - by whom?! 13 ARIA Awards from 36 nominations. Eight APRA Awards from 11 noms. This song - seventh best Australian song of all time. MTV Award for Best New Artist, also three other MTV noms. International Group of the Year - BRIT Awards. Ranked 50 on the Triple J Hottest 100 of All Time. 2016 inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. "Underrated" tho... 🙄
I saw him perform this song with Fleetwood Mac a couple of years ago in Buffalo. I knew he was going to be there, and it still took me by surprise. I cried my eyes out!
Crowded House was on my dad's sound track (also a truckie), when I was allowed to go to work with him we would always belt out Something So Strong and also Cold Chisel Flame Trees and Bow River. Great memories.
Thank you. One of my favorites EVER. Such a beautiful song. My dad played bass in local bands until he was in his mid seventies. This was a particular favorite of his. Love you guys!
Another 80's masterpiece, 1986. There is freedom within There is freedom without Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup There's a battle ahead Many battles are lost But you'll never see the end of the road While you're travelling with me Hey now, hey now Don't dream it's over Hey now, hey now When the world comes in They come, they come To build a wall between us We know they won't win Now I'm towing my car There's a hole in the roof My possessions are causing me suspicion But there's no proof In the paper today Tales of war and of waste But you turn right over to the TV page Hey now, hey now Don't dream it's over Hey now, hey now When the world comes in They come, they come To build a wall between us We know they won't win Now I'm walking again To the beat of a drum And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart Only shadows ahead Barely clearing the roof Get to know the feeling of liberation and release Hey now, hey now Don't dream it's over Hey now, hey now When the world comes in They come, they come To build a wall between us You know they won't win Don't let them win (Hey now, hey now) Hey now, hey now Hey now, hey now Don't let them win (They come, they come) Don't let them win (Hey now, hey now), yeah Hey now, hey now
The music out of Australia and New Zealand in the late 70s and through the 80s was glorious. The world saw some like this but missed so much more. Glad I was able to get to the pubs and clubs in western Sydney back then to enjoy that era.
This song makes you feel like everything's going to be ok. When you're at your lowest & ready to give up go to a quiet place, Put your headphones on, Play this song & just Vibe. *One of the best songs EVER!* ❤️
Good news Crowded House will or have already reformed, I’m Australian & was lucky to see the band in concert few times & also saw Neil Finn solo concert, brilliant New Zealand/Australian band. Neil Finn also joined Fleetwood Mac & they did a world tour, not sure if he’s still with FM
This is MY FAVORITE 80’s song. By far. Beautiful. Tears for Fears Head Over Heels second. Thank you!!! Btw he became a member of Fleetwood Mac and still singing. Real artist right here.
One of the Greatest Bands Ever Worldwide❤& One of the Greatest Everlasting Songs Graced Upon Us❤🎵🎶🎼. Love, Love, Love Crowded House & Neil Finn whose is one of the Greatest Song Writer Ever!!! & Their Whole Catalogue of Gems & Records!! They are Fabulous Legends with Countless Hits!! #Lovethis. Check out their Catalogue as You'll Love it❤. Love You Paul Hester > One of the Greatest Drummer Ever & #NeverForgotten❤
Like Farnsey and Barnsey, as an Antipodean whenever I hear The Crowdies those Finm voices seer thru my soul. It says home, sun, good coffee, trams, memories of youth, 4 seasons in a day and the homely comfort of gentle Trans Tasman rivalry all rolled into a song.
This song takes my breath away. since I was 18 years old, when I heard it for the first time, it marked my life. Today, over 50 years old, I still suffer from it...
Brings me back to my high school years, such a beautiful song from a great australian band, other songs from them you would love i'm sure is Fall At Your Feet and Better Be Home Soon. You guys are so fun to watch!! Cheers from Montreal, Canada!!! :-)
Your Golden Girls T is wonderful, Miss (Mrs) Mel. ✊️😉🤙👌 can’t even begin to get into articulating how much I appreciate you both. Will soon. Another legend song. Thank you dearly S&M. Stay safe. Be blessed. ✊️, Marco Hendrix
Keep this genre coming. This type of music was poppin when I was a child so obviously it reminds me of when things were way more simpler than it is now.
Neil Finn is an amazing musician- I grew up listening to best of Split Enz and my big sister was a massive crowded house fan. If you can find it, the Farewell to the Concert is amazing to watch. They also did a 20th anniversary concert of Farewell to the World in 2016 which I was lucky enough to go to.
Thank you again for another great reaction video. I love this song so much, it reminds me of my pre teen years and school dances. Damn I'm getting old.😂
Lead Singer ( Neil Finn) from Te Awamutu, New Zealand. Has a brother who together in the late 70's started a band called Split Enz, a great kiwi band, as is this one Crowded House 😁
One of the best 80s/90s Aussie bands ever, Neil Finn is one of Australia's (and NZ coz he's originally from there) best songwriters!! You have stumbled upon aus music royalty!!! Check out more of their music you won't be disappointed..🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺❤❤😘😘
You really need to check out their final show. I believe their last song at their final show was this one. It was a really good performance, and was emotionally moving as the band realized it was all ending.
Loving this! You definitely need to listen to ‘Message to my girl’ by Split Enz. Neil Finn both wrote and sang this song as well. It’s mine and my wife’s song and has been so for over 20 years. It’s beautiful..
Great reaction Guys! If u wanna see some more Aussie Royalty sing the most soulful track you'll ever here, check out John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes "When something is wrong with my baby" You'll be blown away, no cap! It's one of the most powerful performances you'll ever hear from a couple of White Dudes! Love from Australia!
This song is so appropriate for these times where certain factions of society are looking to drive a wedge between the common folk. I'll say it again- we live in a shameful period of our country. We need to look to music to unite us- to remind us that we all share the same type of joys in the human condition.
@Shawn and Mel "S&M" Squad, you guys are hilarious in a charming way - no Sad.. o ... Ma...so... just 'S'miles and 'M'usings :) Australia and New Zealand have plenty of great musical talents, great songs - Midnight Oil, Crowded House and Jet are barely the flicker on the edge of the tip of the iceberg :) Try looking up 'Split Enz' for 'I got you', 'Message to my girl' and the music video for 'Six Months on a Leaky Boat'.
@Shawn and Mel "Hey now, hey now - Don't dream it's over. Hey now, hey now, when the world comes in. They come, they come - TO BUILD A WALL BETWEEN US... But we know they won't win!" BTW *Says ""Great, Biig Bewtiful Wahl" in his best half-arsed Drumpf impression*
More awesome 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿 music 🎶🤘🎸🎶🤘🎸🎶🤘🎸🎶🤘🎸 lotsa 💖💖💖 from 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿 Just saying, it'd be awesome to see you guys react to devilskin, shihad & Blindspot 🤘🎸🎶 all are awesome 🇳🇿🇳🇿 artists.
you know when this came out, I just thought oh just another mindless pop song. But, with age comes appreciation and knowledge and this song was really a masterpiece of a song. Masterful lyrics from Neil and just an all time classic.
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! REACT TO AL GREEN’S STUDIO VERSION OF “LET’S GET MARRIED”. IT IS THE BEST MARRIED-FOLKS-DANCING-AND-MAKING-BABIES SONG! I REALLY, REALLY WANT TO SEE Y’ALL GRINNING AND GROOVING WITH THIS ONE. p.s. Al Green was a pastor and he married two friends of mine, and yes, praise be, he sang this awesome song at their wedding.
Here’s the song performed by the original songwriter and singer. With Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. ruclips.net/video/3zdbwt18J7U/видео.htmlsi=P8oeHZr7rY0xZNRV
I've just been thinking; what if you added some punctuation to this title? 'Don't dream, it's over.' Or, more emphatically, "Don't dream; it's over.' Or even 'Don't dream ... it's over!'
One of the best songs ever written imo. Such an underrated band.
I agree whole heartedly and in my Top 5 of all time!
Easy easy agreement from me on the song!
Yep...still my number 1 song of all time
Underrated - by whom?! 13 ARIA Awards from 36 nominations. Eight APRA Awards from 11 noms. This song - seventh best Australian song of all time. @@221b-Maker-Street I just assumed they would have wanted more success outside of Australia and NZ, but I guess you’d have to ask them.
The Lyrics to this song is nothing short of sheer Poetry. Truly one of the best Pop songs ever written! A Classic!
Neil Finn is a lyrical genius. Paul McCartney says so and I agree.
I saw him perform this song with Fleetwood Mac a couple of years ago in Buffalo. I knew he was going to be there, and it still took me by surprise. I cried my eyes out!
My dad is a retired otr truck driver. I remember being like 7 years old and him bring this song home. Sissy you gotta hear this...great memories ❤️
Crowded House was on my dad's sound track (also a truckie), when I was allowed to go to work with him we would always belt out Something So Strong and also Cold Chisel Flame Trees and Bow River. Great memories.
My fave song probably of all time 🎶🎵
Paul Hester's smile could light up a room....RIP
He just warms the heart every time you see him. Breaks my heart that he left this life in pain. He is so missed! He was The Light of Crowded House!
One of my favourite Aussie bands. 🇦🇺
A gentle, relaxing song that still makes one reflect on one's own life.
Beautiful song and Great band.
Love this song. It has a incredible vibe.
Thank you. One of my favorites EVER. Such a beautiful song. My dad played bass in local bands until he was in his mid seventies. This was a particular favorite of his. Love you guys!
Another 80's masterpiece, 1986.
There is freedom within
There is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead
Many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're travelling with me
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm towing my car
There's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion
But there's no proof
In the paper today
Tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the TV page
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm walking again
To the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead
Barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
You know they won't win
Don't let them win (Hey now, hey now)
Hey now, hey now
Hey now, hey now
Don't let them win (They come, they come)
Don't let them win (Hey now, hey now), yeah
Hey now, hey now
Thank you for the lyrics, I'm sure some people will appreciate it, I know this song very well.😃
The music out of Australia and New Zealand in the late 70s and through the 80s was glorious. The world saw some like this but missed so much more. Glad I was able to get to the pubs and clubs in western Sydney back then to enjoy that era.
Why does life have to get so complicated? These songs remind me of a youth living a carefree life, full of happiness and curiosity
This song open my eyes up when it came out I looked at a lot of things differently while going through a difficult time in my life
This song makes you feel like everything's going to be ok. When you're at your lowest & ready to give up go to a quiet place, Put your headphones on, Play this song & just Vibe. *One of the best songs EVER!* ❤️

This is a direct Beatles influence. It's in the lyrics, the sound, and the execution. I hear so much Lennon in this song. It's beautiful.
It was a HUGE hit. Like one of the other commentators stated, this song is considered one of the best songs ever written.
One of my Favorite songs of all time ......
I forgot how much I like this song thanks ✌❤🤘
New Zealand in the house❤❤❤
This song takes my breath away. since I was 18 years old, when I heard it for the first time, it marked my life. Today, over 50 years old, I still suffer from it...

Amazing Aussie/Kiwi band. Love their music. I grew up with these guys and I still listen to their music on a regular basis🙂🙂🙂👍
Lead Singer ( Neil Finn) from Te Awamutu, New Zealand. Has a brother who together in the late 70's started a band called Split Enz, a great kiwi band, as is this one Crowded House 😁
"Something So Strong" - another good one from the same record. Their albums have great artwork and fit their sound and image very well (IMHO).
Thanks for reminding me about that one.
One of my faves!!
Such a lovely song 🎵 it has alot of power for a pop song 🎵
(RIP the drummer)
Paul Hester
Aunque nadie me entienda esta es la videoreaccion que e estado esperando toda mi vida gracias por el video thank you 😍🤣👌

You really need to check out their final show. I believe their last song at their final show was this one. It was a really good performance, and was emotionally moving as the band realized it was all ending.

My New Zealand/Australian old time classic. Nice reactions guys. Kiwi.
my fave from the 80's
I am one of your sub from New Zealand. Split Enz n Crowded House was my vibe in the 80s😁, beside my Sir EP of course.
Another song like this is "Hands to Heaven" by a group called Breathed. A forgotten 80s hit
Loving this! You definitely need to listen to ‘Message to my girl’ by Split Enz. Neil Finn both wrote and sang this song as well. It’s mine and my wife’s song and has been so for over 20 years. It’s beautiful..
Paul McCartney said he wished he had of been the one who wrote this song 😊

You've gotta listen to the singer's former band Split Enz (Message to my girl ... and many other excellent songs)
I'd recommend checking out some of Neil's older band Split Enz too especially I Got You, Message to My Girl and I Walk Away.
it was a hit round the world in 1987 getting to number 1 but only to number 2 in usa
You need to see the live version at the Sydney Opera House in 1996 & 2006
CROWDED HOUSE "FALL AT YOUR FEET"
My possessions are causing me suspicions but there's no proof😮😮😮
Heeeyyyy, Mel!
This song reminds me of the Covid shutdown. They even recorded a version while on quarantine.
Happy days
Beautiful song have you heard maxi priest close to you
A classic tune recommended
Such a phenomenal song. Check out sixpence none the richer's cover of this. Beautiful as well

I hate pop rock. This is an exception. This is amazing
Would like to see you react to home free Adam Rupp's drum solo with out a set of drums. It's funny and entaining. He's not human.
you know when this came out, I just thought oh just another mindless pop song. But, with age comes appreciation and knowledge and this song was really a masterpiece of a song. Masterful lyrics from Neil and just an all time classic.
