Your reaction was so sweet when you realized you were watching the video to a song you've loved for so long. The video was a favorite of MTV back in the day. Loved the flying objects and walking through the rooms with the names of locations and dates. Very nostalgic and fits the feeling of the song so perfectly. The band was a New Zealand/Australian collaboration. Lead singer and songwriter from New Zealand and bass player and drummer from Australia. Great band!
You guys remembered right at the first bass run 😀 and yes, there’s something magical about Crowded House. They just feel good and their songwriter, Neil Finn is a wordsmith. They’re on my Spotify daily mix along with a few of their prior band’s “Split Enz”‘s songs. 🙂
I need to go back and work on my English. I probably would have said, so it brings back memories for you. You said, 'so it brings warm memories for you'. Very elegant.
I couldn't remember the name of the song or the band but was looking for this song to see if you had heard it before. I found the song and searched your channel. Great song. Another great song I didn't see on your channel (but you probably know) is ACE- How Long ~ You guys are fun to watch.
Nice reaction. Love you guys. You seem so genuine. This is such an 80's classic with an unmistakable intro. It wasn't until much later that I realized that what made this song so unique was that it was a study in suspended chords. You rarely get a major chord or minor chord tonality in this song and that unanchored feel to it is the melancholy that it rides on. Just magic.
Like the northern hemisphere has some British/American bands, here in the southern hemisphere, we have Australian/New Zealand bands and Crowded House was one of those. Not Australian exactly, but not New Zealander either. Kind of a bit of both.
Lead singer Neil Finn wrote this song. The lyrics are great as are all of his songs. Paul McCartney (the Beatles) was once asked “what makes a great song writer?” He replied “You’d better ask Neil Finn”
Paul McCartney was often asked about this quote, and sadly for the myth, he confirmed that he never said it. What he did say is "I love his songs, actually" which isn't nearly as quote-worthy but does confirm he likes Finn's music.
I love this song and remember it well from when i was a child also. I share the same hometown as the Finn brothers in Te Awamutu. Crowded House an alltime great ANZ band.
Great song from a great band. One of those songs that takes you back in time, reviving long lost memories. Love the commentary between you two. Just subscribed. Thanks.
It's interesting to find out songs are heard all over the world. I am an American and have no idea about European culture. It is crazy when I see western bands preforming in Asia and the people are singing.
Awww, hard to know what you have already heard but I am sure there is other Crowded House songs you haven't heard. They started with Split Enz. First hit was "I got you" if you haven't heard that. Another great Aussie Band is Dragon, they had many great songs. The best of them are April sun in Cuba and Rain. Great rock bands Powderfinger and Screaming Jets are also worth checking out.
Dragon is one of those bands that everyone seems to have forgot, another Kiwi band we claimed, you forgot young years though, probably my favourite song of theirs.
@@JakeMartin94 I don't agree. Neil Finn was the principle force and influence behind Crowded House. Plus the primary song writer vocalist and guitarist. And actually, there were also a couple of American members of the band for a period. Anyway Neil and his older brother Tim Finn are New Zealanders. Both were in the NZ band Split Enz. And Tim Finn was also a member of Crowded House for a time! Plus Neil wrote this song. So no. You cannot just write out the NZ connection to this band or song. The facts are what they are.
Great song. Crowded House were big in 80's. Neil Finn is still going as is brother Tim and his son Liam. They have a great catalogue, I would recommend going back in time and listening to Split Enz -- I Got You or I See Red.
I don't know if anyone has requested any female singer's/artists from Australia so I thought I'd request my favorite Delta Goodrem Let it rain live (today). Delta wrote this song during the massive bush fire's here in Australia a couple of years ago and dedicated to the fire fighters who fought so bravely. I've suggested this version so you can concentrate on the word's and her voice. The original is extremely emotional and the footage of the destruction distracts you from the song, you might want to check it out afterwards but it will make you cry.
Thank you for the recommendation. We hope to check it out soon!...we are looking forward to discover some female singers as male ones did not disappoint! 😍
The Vegemite on toast and bowl of cornflakes. Another timeless, catchy song that takes us back to a great time in our lives and a time when music was Great.
I usually prefer the studio or official versions of songs, but there is a live version of this that absolutely kills. Anyway, great reaction to a great song. Keep up the good work
Nice to see a fresh upload. You would love another Australian band INXS singing Never Tear Us Apart. Australian band but filmed by a great Australian filmmaker in Prague. Such a beautiful love song and such a beautiful video. I am sure you will have heard the song on the radio before. Make sure you watch the official video.
@@MerchantOfAlba A beautiful love song is especially great when listened too by a couple who share love as you two clearly do, and the cinematography in such a romantic city is wonderful :)
I love both your reaction to the song and to each other....... you are fantastic. Be careful heading down the Australian Music Rabbit hole because there's a lot to see.
I really enjoy listening to you guys talking. Your comments are interesting and you're not full of yourselves like a lot of people. I'm subscribing and hope to see more Australian songs. Thank you 🤘😁
Creative sleep... How free are we when we dream! The barriers of time, the limitations of space, the laws of so-called 'logic', the constraints of our imagination are all swept away and we are Gods of our own fleeting creations.
There’s a heap more to discover with Crowded House….. Something So Strong, Weather with you, Fall at your feet, Chocolate Cake, Kare Kare…. Have fun exploring.
This band should have been called the - little brothers . The lead vocals /guitar is the younger brother of the leader of Split Enz, while the bassist is the younger brother of the lead singer of Hunters and Collecters. Another good reaction by the way. You might want to react to The Angels perform "Am I ever gonna see your face again" but it must be a live version . The audience response is totally organic, this happens everytime this song is played no matter where or when. Anywhere in the world this is played Aussies respond this way. It's a way of identifying us.
I've just found your channel. I love watching the enthusiasm and enjoyment you both have of music. I'd love you to watch a great aussie band called "The Waifs". They're best viewed live. "Crazy Train" is one of their best. Just amazing. RUclips have a few live versions of Crazy Train online. I'd love you to have a look. Love from New Zealand xxx
Another great Australian singer is young singer called Georgi Kay. Her rendition of Bjork's 'Jorga' is amazing! She completely makes it her own and plays the guitar through it. Strong recommendation. ruclips.net/video/aGcQqSHqaec/видео.html
N.Z band for me as a kiwi lol neil Finn is 1 of the most respected song writers and musicians
You would be surprised how many Crowded House songs you know. One of my favourite bands ever.
Came for the song, stayed for you.
Wow! Thanks a lot! Welcome to our channel! 💚💚💚

Thank you both for your reaction, from a new subscriber (from Australia!)
It's interesting to find out songs are heard all over the world. I am an American and have no idea about European culture. It is crazy when I see western bands preforming in Asia and the people are singing.
they got so many good songs i like Distant Sun, Whispers and Moans, Private Universe, Into Temptation, ''Recurring Dream'' ect ect

This is a classic song and Neil wrote quite a few.
Another great NZ band that Aussie's came as our own. You guys are so refreshing!! Keep them coming!!
We will!😊
Band members from NZ and Australia but band was formed in Australia therefore an Australian band

Crowded House was famous worldwide 🌐. There last concert was at the Sydney Opera House and people came from all over the planet to be there.

Great band, Neil Finn has an amazing voice and talented songwriter.
And the song is well known all over for decades now! That's something 😀
In the video, it shows rooms as times in the singer’s life until they join as a band in his home, which was part of the birth of Crowded House ❤️
If you have time, please react to the live version of this from their 1996 farewell concert in Sydney. It's magical ❤
thank you so much.

I like "When She Comes" by this band.
I went to the same high school as the drummer

May I recommend Lynyrd Skynyrd “free bird”

Maybe get some decent headphones? you'll appreciated better
Problem solved. The splitter arrived today! 😉
The lyrics are as poignant today as they were when the song came out in 86. hope you listen again, well done.
The vocalist committed suicide
The vocalist is alive and still performing. Sadly, the drummer took his life in 2005. Heartbreaking. Rest in peace Paul Hester.
