I’ve been watching every audio engineering channel, and this one has really helped me to synthesize all of the information I’ve come across. I don’t know why, it’s in how you explain everything.

I'm still a newbie and really don't feel able to EQ without using solo. I think my ears aren't trained to hone in on the differences my moves are making without soloing. Is it a big problem to solo when you're starting out and still learning the areas of the spectrum?

    1. A goal is good. 2. EQing is solo is not wrong. It can be a good starting place to fix issues and really hear what you're doing, then tweak out of solo. 3. Telling amateur mixers not to play it safe is going to have them over EQ. 4.Master buss EQ has it's place but yes, not for fixing problems. 5. Sometimes boosting EQ to have something heard better is exactly the right answer, INSTEAD of making it louder. 6. Don't over EQ? You just said don't play it safe. Which one? Honestly, this video isn't going to do shit for you. Learn some technical mixing standards, lean how to read your spectrum analyzer. Study great mixes and train your ears. Take info is RUclips vids with a grain of salt, decide what works for you and doesn't.
