    If only Thomas Edison had a Savoy coconut cream tin can....just imagine how much faster he could have devoloped his lighting inventions 😁

    I put a 24v worklight/spotlight (27 watt LED) onto a mobility scooter. Looked like the aliens were coming! I don't know what the prices were at the time this video was published, but you can get headlight with horn (peeper), rear light and switches for an e scooter that works between 24v and 60v for £20 GBP from a well known auction site, that would likely be very suitable for an ebike as well, rather than making something up, unless you have odd parts lying around already.

    Humm good concept . Great idea man , but the extra work and time to build it equals about just as much as an entire cost of new decent ebike front light 🤷🏽‍♂️ , my opinion tho.
    At least we know more or less how to build one . Thank you

      Well, you still need to make a battery for it because most high intensity LEDs don't come with batteries. Plus, more likely they are not as bright as a car headlight or they might be prohibitively expensive. And finally, if it's dead one day or should I say when it's dead, you would need to replace the entire thing. With this method, you only need to replace the LED bulb that costs $4 and a minute to put a new bulb back in.

    I've played around with old 6v lantern style flashlight reflectors, but only got a basic "spot". I've had a little luck cutting circles out of the big plastic fresnel lenses salvaged from the old giant box projector TVs. Cutting circles about 8 in or so from the center seems to give me a little bit more of a shaped beam.
    I guess there is a reason that Busch + Müller charge 199€ for their IQ-XM E High Beam headlight.

    That's a lot of work for a result as good as a cheap $12 led work light.

      Are you comparing your cheap $12 LED work light to an automotive LED headlight?

    Very cool nice light for and electric bike very bright light, how long does it last on a full charge on that 3s Lipo

    Maybe get a small light for when you're facing traffic at night. This will be way too much light for incoming traffic

    How long does it last with your kobalt battery?

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  2 года назад +2

      It runs at a lower voltage and lower current than the one I put on the car (they are the same model) because of a lower voltage battery. It runs at about 17W, my battery is 48Wh so it lasts about 3 hours.

    Unfortunately the oncoming traffic will flash you, been there with mine. It wasn’t even pointed up at all.

      It's no different than another car's headlight. Plus, I've already pointed it down, way down. You can see clearly the difference when I compared it with my mini van's headlight. It's way lower than the van's light beam.

      @@vuaeco awesome sounds good. I have been looking for an ebike headlight solution. Good work as usual!
