    I just installed this two days ago in my 17 SR5 CM. I replaced a Phoenix unit I installed a few years ago. I have an aftermarket sub/amp that I also installed a few years ago, and this unit pushes it to the limit! Overall, I'm pleased with the upgrade. Below are some notes:
    Radio station will change stations randomly.(After a week, this has stopped)
    Vivid is the launcher that comes installed on the unit it and is the only one I've found that allows you to access phone options. (After a week, this is still true)
    Agama is my personal favorite launcher.
    TPMS flashes, then turns solid and can not be reset by user.(After a week, the light has gone off and seems to be working properly)
    The beeping on Toyotas when you lock/unlock turned itself off when I installed this unit. There is an option in the settings of the unit to turn it back on, but you can not change it without a cable and software. (After a week, this is still true)
    Even with these minor flaws (which I'm still investigating on how to remedy), I would still still recommend this unit.
    *Edited after three weeks of use.

    I have a very similar unit...mine is about a year older than the one in this video, also in a 2014 Tundra, and I have netflix, spotify, my podcast app, everything I need downloaded on the actual HU. I don't use it with android auto at all. I use an app called automate to automatically turn on the wifi hotspot on my phone when my phone connects with bluetooth. Phone calls and network are the only things I use my phone for. Everything else is on the HU itself. Navigation works great, I can download offline maps for gaia GPS and OnX Offroad when I'm going out to run trails and won't have network. The only issue I've had with mine is that it will sometimes register phantom touches when the unit gets warm, and I had it completely freeze up on my once where I had to take it out and disconnect the power. The one in this video looks like it has a little bit better fit than mine, and mine has touch buttons on the side, not the physical buttons across the bottom. It's been a great head unit, and the bonus is that it's a fully functioning android tablet on top of being a quality head unit. Extremely easy to install.

    how is it working using just regular radio without spotify or android auto? does it have xm radio without using android auto? I live ic Colorado and often in the mountains xm radio works when no regular radio works and there is no cell service. I want to upgrade to this but if it does not have a standalone xm that will be a deal breaker,

    I just purchased this head unit and I've watched your video multiple times. I plan on installing it a couple days. I was wondering if you ever figured out what that HDMI plug on the back is for. Is it for a front camera? Or is it so you can plug an HDMI in to mirror your screen or a device that uses an HDMI? Thank you for the quality video!

      Make sure you are using the correct wiring for your make,model it does come with 2 harnesses depending on the year. It should just be yellow to yellow.

      Double check the connection points and look at the metal prongs. One of mine became bent and then fell out. I replaced it with a staple just to test it and I think I changed the yellow connection and mine started to work.

    Did you consider the 13”? I’m debating if it will be too big in the 18 tundra

    • @WRXGarage
      @WRXGarage  Год назад

      I think the 13" is a screen that pushes out past the OEM bezels, it definitely wouldn't fit with the OEM trim

      You could probably download Netflix if you can get the truck close enough to a wifi source, you'd have to download the episodes on Netflix via wifi first. It might be possible to use your phone and connect it via USB or HDMI to use it's screen to display your phone's screen
