"Happy Wednesday! You know what thats means, yes it's the Tuesday checklist!"
😂😂😂
I played Final Fantasy 9 for 3 days straight. If they made a remake of it I would pass out then wake up and pass out again upon finding that it wasn't just a dream.
I did the exact same thing and immediately restarted the game once I'd finished. Still my favorite game of all time.
I played inFAMOUS: Second Son and got the Plat in 48 hrs. Like, started Friday afternoon and hit 100% Sunday afternoon
Hahaha
Can't wait for Rob to open the intro with: "Hello, my wife caught me...
Kingdom Hearts III!!! Where I live, I had no other friends who played the main KH1 and KH2 games, so I had almost no one to talk to about my love for Disney and FF characters. On Jan.29,2019, I met my now boyfriend on release day - we both got Deluxe Editions. We now celebrate every 29th of the month and we've been together as a couple for 7 months.
He was also "Godfather" to my KH3 PS4 Pro, I named "ULTIMA". ❤🌟👫🏝🌟❤
On PlayStation - would have to be the new God Of War. I remember seeing the teaser trailer for it where Kratos comes out of the shadows grinning from ear-to-ear. Kratos + Norse Mythology (the best mythology), what could be better?! I then immediately pre-ordered it as soon as anything came up online about it and waited (im)patiently for it to drop through the door. Then it did and thankfully since I work from home I basically just made sure I'd done all of my work ahead of time and spent an extended "lunchbreak" working through the start of the game and just adoring it - was absolutely amazing.
Away from PlayStation it would have to be Fable. I dug through magazine after magazine for information about that game, drew the way I wanted my character to look and endlessly theory crafted how I wanted the hero to turn out. Then, the day it was going to come out I asked my parents to give me a lift to the shops to get it but they couldnt...so I put on my shoes and walked probably three miles three and three miles back in order to go and get my copy from the store. I then went down to my Xbox and sat there all night just playing it solidly, enjoying everything about it even with sore feet!
Kingdom Hearts 3
Waited from teenage years to adulthood for this game to release
Yup same here 😁
Yeah 10 years?
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt for me. I took a week vacation when it released.
hahaha same
That's a brilliant Idea a week of vacation! :)
I'm just playing it now after Netflix left me wanting more. Cant beleive I didnt get to it sooner sat in my backlog for years. I think the size and a lack of free time left me too intimidated.
@@dustinp120 Same here! I cant believe I waited YEARS to play this game. I'm 110 hrs into my 1st playthrough, and I honestly dont want it to end...its so good! Gonna do it all over again on Death March, and try for the platinum!
I never played a Witcher game before Witcher 3, so obviously I wouldn’t be excited to play it. However, I bought Witcher 3 like 6 months after release not knowing anything about it other than it looked cool, and I’m proud to say it’s my most favourite game EVER!! It was Skyrim, but Witcher 3 edges it for me! Absolute amazing game just hope the devs have a change of heart and create a Witcher 4 for us 😇😇
Never played any Final fantasy before, but just played the Final Fantasy 7 demo, and it was amazing! However Persona 5 Royal is on top for me!
Don't deprive yourself of the experience, if you have any interest in RPGs at all give them a try. The series hasn't lasted this long without reason. Would especially recommend 7, FFT, maybe try out the old school1-6, then 10,9,12, and 8. Ya know if you have loads of free time 😁
Bagair I’m a chef chef too
I was confused about p5royal or ff7 but I already beat p5 so in gonna jus get ff7.
@@Ghadente i might start ff 9 (played 7 already) after i finish DQ11(brilliant!) as theres graphics mods for it on pc. Itll be that or start Trails in the Sky series. Though i am tempted by ff12 as well as i started that years ago. Tough decisions of life eh!
Why exclamations? It's not that deep
I was so excited for Mass Effect Andromeda. Bought it on realease day. I still weep a little over the "my face is tired" bit. Heartbroken as I've never been.
This is me with Wolfenstein 2. It still holds the crown for worst game I've played.
@@devilgames2217 Wolfenstein 2 was like game of the year candidate, as was Fallout 4 at the time, so basically you just don't like good games then...
@@narcspector
And every fan of both series hated those games.
Oh I feel you. I was hyped beyond sanity.
when rob said "i made a deal with the" i honestly expected to say devil 😆😆
Uncharted 4. I genuinely believed uncharted 3 was the last one. So when I heard about the 4th one being made I was over the moon.
Awesome 👍
I was so hyped for that game my gf made me a cake. It said "happy uncharted 4 day. "
@@grumpypoof9648 That's so sweet! Literally, too.
FF7 remake. Played the demo and I can't wait any longer for it to come out
I don't even like the final fantasy games and I loved the remake demo. It was amazing 👍👍
Yeah
Graphically its super amazing
It was way more fun than I was expecting. I was a little iffy on the combat changes but damn it was fun slicing up guys with the buster sword
The graphics were gorgeous, the combat was fun and innovative, the banter between Cloud and Barrett was freaking hilarious
April 10th come quick
Craig Jones how is any of these entries not FF7R I mean are these guys even gamers :p
When Marvel's Spider-man was announced in 2016, I jumped out of my seat so fast and hard I struck the bottom of my laptop with my knee and almost broke it I was so surprised. When Marvel's Spider-man had it's gameplay demo in 2017, I watched only that for the rest of that Summer, teary eyed at how good it looked. All of 2018 I had a playlist of every video I ever saw with info on the game, and played it on a loop. Finally, I took off from work on Sept 7th to play it, completed it in a day and a half, and I Platinumed it in that first week for my first ever platinum. It was the first genuinely great Spider-man game since Web of Shadows and it surpassed that by a country mile. almost 10 years of anything from meh to trash cash grab releases by Activision to finally get my dream next gen Spidey game.
And in 2019 it was my most played game with 250 hours.
Yeah Marvel's Spider-man is pretty good
Great game to start a platinum collection. I believe it was my 135th 🤔
Hype for the sequel!!
Man I was the same way with the ratchet and clank remake/remaster lol
Mine is Assassin’s Creed 3. I remember watching the trailers and the demo gameplay everyday when i was younger
Same 👍
I had an Ian Makin as well. His name was Chris Lockington. We played ISS together whilst dabbling in college at the side. He can do one as well, Nath.
GTA Vice City.
When it came out I remembered cutting class and literally running to the video game store to pick it up and after I got it coming back to class to show it off.
I remember booking two weeks off work in preparation for vice city. Unfortunately for me it was in the time games had that annoying habit of selling out . Sad times .
GTA San Andreas for me. I even remember that Rockstar must have paid a building in my neighbourhood to paint a giant mural of the game box/logo on one of the busiest streets of the city I lived in.
Really want to see this interview video Dave edited with such enthusiasm and joy..
Dave hit the nail on the head about walking into town to get your game... brought back memories
I literally screamed when I found out FF8 got its remaster. Given that Squenix didn't do anything for its anniversary and that it was left out when they remastered 7 and 9, I had no hope they'd ever do anything with 8 again. I'm happy they ended up remastering it afterall. Now I just need them to fully remake it like they're doing with 7.
All the hells yes. I was replaying FF8 on my PC (for the 15th time) when I heard about the remaster, got very excited. Would be a dream come true if they did a full remake for it
Ahhhh travelling to taunton to get them shiny new games . I can relate as someone who lives in Tiverton . Many of happy memorys getting my dad to take me out there to get new games.
The most I was most excited ,for a game was OH MY GOSH RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2
yes, I got the platinum trophy back in August, now have over 500 hours on that game, and im still playing it. I just love walking around camp playing dominoes and just listening to the gang talk and interact with each other, so much dialogue in this game its insane!!! Other developers should take notes, if there's ever a third game I would lose my mind, but that probably won't happen for 10-15 years.
Yess
Ballin Balgruuf you should get together with my brother. He plays way too much dominos...
Lol I read that it a sarcastically monotonous tone
@@SGOrion86 Haha.
You I actually learned how to play joker and blackjack with the 1st red dead redemption
I loved this vid. So many memories of doing the same things you all talked about.
Persona 5. Waited years for it, getting small bits of info every few months. Sometimes it felt like someone was sitting on my chest after I had read an article or see a video or screenshot.
Person5 is def my second...years of waiting after I played 3 on original release and skipped 4
And now you get to do it all over again with royal.
I do like P5 but I want to like it more than I do. I've got to the 4th palace n always think "in gonna get bk to p5" but I just can't get back into it. I dunno if my live for anime had just dwindled as I've got older as I don't tend to watch much any more. I'm Evangelion/cowboy beepbop era so maybe I'm just getting too old lol.
Arkham knight - watched the father to son trailer nearly everyday, Googled the game to see any updates and couldn't sleep the week before it released. Wasn't disappointed as i played the story non stop and still play it regularly to this day. And the graphics (especially the rain on the Cape 😍) were so unreal it felt like a non stop movie.
Same for me, what a gorgeous game that is! Love it like the first day and rarely been this hyped for a game
This is exactly me
Dave and Robb are right, the excitement of buying a much anticipated game from the shops back then was great. Something we don't get these days with having virtual copies. I remember buying games for the Spectrum (sorry I know this is a Playstation channel!) back when they were £1.99, or picking loads of them up for a fiver in a bargain bin. :D
Metal Gear Solid 2 just the hype alone was through the roof I remember going into our local games shop Clives Record Shop (sadly no longer open) and seeing that beautiful artwork by Yoji Shinkawa n buying it and taking it home and enjoying the hell out of it, had the same excitement for MGS 3 n MGS4 n V. LOL but nothing can top my excitement for 2.
Watching Rob talking about being 14 and waiting for FF9 to come out brings back a lot of memories for me. I remember back in 2000 waiting for Ridge Racer 5 to come out on PS2. Playing the demo before hand and then finally getting the game on the day of release. Playing it for hours and hours. Happy times.
That description of the excitement of picking up a new game was spot on. I got such nostalgia from it.
There are lots of candidates for mine, but I would have to go with Dark Chronicle. I think that was the last time I felt that true, almost juvenile giddy excitement at the prospect of playing a game.
I'd give an honourable mention to Deus Ex Human Revolution.
Mass Effect 3 - couldn't have been more excited, more ready for it!
I think Uncharted 4 is the most excited I've ever been, and my excitement for that game got me to buckle down and save for 2 years to get a ps4. I'm very bad at saving money and at the time, I was making even less than my current lousy pay, so it was very hard to save, but so worth it. I was able to get Uncharted and Horizon Zero Dawn when I finally was able to get a refurbished PS4 and I was so happy.
Easily HL:A right now, last big Valve release was Portal 2, and at the time I wasn't really into video games yet. It's so cool to finally be here to see a huge part of Valve's history happen.
Devil may cry 2
Still hurts to this day how shocking that game was when I put it into my PS2
RIP
At least we got Devil May Cry 3 and onwards after that
F
F
DMC 3 more than made up for it.
FF9 is the only FF I’ve played through more than once. Such amazing characters. I’d love that to get a remake
ff9 is up there with the best of the best imo. not only in therms of ff's or even rpg's. with all games. its a beautiful quality experiance.
99Lezard99 isn’t it just
@@McRazzler And it´s maybe the one which aged the best.
Rick Deckard still looks beautiful
This is such a shame
I remember pre-ordering games back in the day because a copy at your local store wasn't guaranteed. One of my most hyped releases was Suikoden III and I got it for Christmas. Such an awesome series, wish there was more love out there for it!
My most anticipated game?
Gauntlet on MSX.
I literally called US Gold, bought every magazine that even mentioned it and visited Just Micro every day until it came out, (after multiple delays).
I bought it on day one with my birthday money and played it constantly wearing out 2 joysticks.
It’s been a while since games have gotten me really excited, but there are 2 that I distinctly remember practically counting down the days until they were released. Those were God of War II & III.
I bought a PS3 just so I could play God of War III as soon as it came out.
It’s either Golden Sun: The Lost Age or Persona 5. I just love the games on those two series to bits and could get lost explaining and talking to everyone in those worlds.
The buildup to MGS2 was MASSIVE for me. I loved and became obsessed with the first one, and when I started to see screenshots in magazines, I couldn’t believe that it was screenshots of actual gameplay. Any magazine that had anything on MGS2, I had to get it, read it, and love it haha.
Absolutely waited every minute till the release of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64 :D
Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy VII are my most hyped on this year
OMG! It's been so long since I've heard someone talk about ISS (Pro Evolution Soccer)! And I remember the hype about PES! We would rave about things like "Now you can read the name of the players on their shirt!!“ 😁
The OG FFVII... I bought a playstation from a friend a month before it released, and only had one game to play until final fantasy came out. When I finally put it in the drive and booted it up... still remember that intro. Also, agree with Dave on Skyrim... I skipped out on a party with my (now) wife to go to the midnight release!
Final Fantasy VIII for me, I remember seeing screenshots in a magazine long before it was due out and getting excited at how good Shiva and Ifrit looked, graphics looked insanely better than 7. It showed a battle menu in one of the shots that shows the Draw Command and GF and I was like what the hell is this? Was beyond excited to find out.
I've been non-stop watching you guys for now 3 months! Love you guys! Even though I'm pretty dedicated to my xbox
It's never too late
Metal gear solid 3 snake eater in 2005 was the game I've been the most excited for I even bought the PlayStation magazine with the demo disc the day before the game released that's how bad I couldn't wait for it.
so good...👌 one of the greatest games of all time imo
I feel for you Rob. Final Fantasy 9 is the first RPG that I actually put time into. I was a FPS player all the way but something about that game intrigued me and I put hours and hours. Paid for strategy guide and conquered it. And if any one else knows this, Ozma you were the worst. Great memories!
Mine was skyrim. I worked at Game at the time. I'd ordered the collectors edition which arrived at store a week before release. To my horror it was embargoed. So for a week I arrived at work & stroked my copy, so damn excited to play. I worked the midnight launch & fully rode the hype train untill 2 am when I could finally get home & play it.
Skyrim had me hyped like no other game. I even remember going to the local gamestore on the 8th for something else and asking the person behind the counter If they had skyrim in already, he responded with "sure you wanna buy it?". Got lucky and played it 3 days earlier than expected which ended up in a lot of messages from people on my friends list who were still waiting for the official release day.
battlefront 2 was my kid spazzing out on christmas gift. As an adult I'm always excited for the new from software game, only studio I geek out for.
GTA 4. Remember waiting at the letterbox for it to be delivered
When I first started playing Read Dead Redemption 2 I couldn't believe how incredible it was; didn't expect it to be anything like that! I must say I've been playing Skyrim too, even today, and I'm constantly surprised by how much I still love it.
Also my birthday is Christmas day too!
Spider-man 2 on PS2. I was SO excited for that. Then the day came and I only managed to play for about an hour before I had to go to camp for a few days. But I played the heck out of that game for the longest time.
Gran Turismo 5, that jump from PS2 to PS3 along with the wait from the constant delays that GT endures, I just couldn't wait to get my hands on GT5 & it fully delivered.
One of the greatest games on PS3 for me, especially in the world of cars & motorsport anyway!
Final Fantasy 7 , the original and it makes me more excited now that the remake is soon. I had a game magazine that had the exact day it was coming out, plus I got the demo disc that let you play the bombing mission with Tifa and Neo Bahamut.
Also, The first Kingdom Hearts.
Would loved a stream/videos of the truly classic Pro Evo games!
Watching Rosie's passion for video games is so fun and infectious! I did enjoy all of the team's recollections too however ;)
This is a really fun topic to discuss! My story has to be Mortal Kombat X. I know it's strange but I completely fell in love with that game and played it to death XD
Thanks for sharing everyone!
I was the most psyched for Syphon Filter 2. I remember using our VCR (look it up, kiddos) to tape the deathmatches so I could watch them later and crack up all over again after a knife or grenade kill. Ah, memories...
gta3 for me, i played gta and gta2 like crazy on playstation as a kid, when gta3 came out i bought it day 1- and knew it was gonna be huge, it became even bigger than i thought it would be and it felt good that i knew before everyone else how awesome it was gonna be.
Final Fantasy VIII. I remember playing the demo from PlayStation Magazine over and over.
Skyrim, of course. Right there with you, Dave. It was the only midnight release I had ever bothered to go to (aside from when I worked at a game and movie store where I was paid to be there at midnight.) And I will do the same for IV.
Getting a PS2 with GTAIII for Christmas '01. It was truly next gen stuff and you felt it. You knew you were playing the sort of game that had never been done to this degree before. Every then it felt iconic. I was hooked on it. The anticipation of knowing my parents had bought it and hid it in the house months in advance only added to the excitement. I think it is what changed me from a kid who played games a bit into someone who was passionate about gaming.
I don't think any other media comes close to the excitement I felt.
MGS2 a few months later is close second.
RDR 2 weighed so much on my mind I had to finally get a PS4 in preparation for it's release. Worth every penny and have since caught up with many of the amazing titles in offer.
And now, TLOU2 is getting up there in my excitometer. Has to be in my top 10 most highly anticipated games ever.
Weirdly, due to my GTA obsession I remember getting disproportionately excited for The Getaway. It looked like GTA but with extra realism. It was a terrific looking game for that time and did play a big part in the 'rest in cover to heal' mechanic becoming the norm but otherwise it was average. I distinctly remember the city itself being empty and devoid of any real purpose or side missions.
Metal gear solid 5. Since the teaser until the lunch day. I have thw ps3 and ps4 version now and loved to see every time the video about how to make a mission with diferent ways and how the assault of the Mother base would work
Almost same story as Nath. I too was at college in 2000 and shared a flat with a PS1 a copy of ISS and my own Ian Makin. Unfortunately in my case it did derail my degree but happily I started a more suitable course the following year and graduated! Bloody ISS!
This was great and with the twist joke at the end that we new, but was good comedic effect! Excellent top class content here! Keep it up and youll be beating 'Pewdeepie' in no time!
Legend of Zelda, my very first. On the phone with my father both helping eachother solving the puzzle chambers.
i remembered last year when dmc5 came out. bought the game on released date and wore the pre-order t-shirt and started playing😁
Trails of Cold Steel III. Had to wait 2 years after I played 1 and 2 before I heard any news on 3 being localized to the US. And now I'm having to wait on 4. I'm excited just thinking about what the final game in the series will be like!
I once went to that Taunton Electronics Boutique when visiting family. It legit might not have been there.
GTA Vice City. I was mega excited for it, and it was my first Grand Theft Auto experience. Everyone I knew at the time was a GTA friend. So, I thought to myself, "Lemme see what the fuss about is."
Electronics Boutique........ ah you're taking me back there Rob 🤩
Geez for me it was Caligula Effect. I was so hyped and even scoured the web for a collectors edition. Ended up buying digital because I couldn't wait! Rob feature it in a friday feature plz plz plz!
The original Star Wars Battlefront 2, not the current one the one that first brought us space battles and playable heroes. I still love the hero battle in Mos Eisley. I read every article and saw every trailer!
Final Fantasy VII Remake is the most excited i have been, ive played that demo nearly 15 times now im that excited for it. I know a lot of people are excited for it but i seriously cannot wait, April 10th here we come baby!
Kingdom hearts 2, I started playing kh in 2014, I had played every other game before 2, including the ones on the nds, it wss finally time for kh2, I had a lot of problems since I was using a unlocked ps2 at the time, it was preety old and some games just didn't boot up, after downloading the game a bunch of times, burning a lot of dvd's, I ended up selling my ps2 in the hopes that soon I would have enough for a ps3 and I could play it there. Afther a wile I find another used unlocked ps2 for about 1/4 the price I had sold mine, so I bought it, and man it was soo good, I still remember the first time I booted kh2, that dearly beloved sounded soo beautifull, than sanctuary with all the journey sora had before that, I had so much chills it was epic
It’s hard to pick between getting Spyro and Ps1 for Christmas or when I got my GameCube w/super Mario sunshine and some other games.
Damn i wish i could still get so excited about games as Rob was when he got ff9 :D
i literally have over 100 games in my steam library (had to sell the ps4) and i don't want to play anything of it
The Elder Scrolls 6. I was 16 when Skyrim came out and if the rumors are true. I’ll be 30 before I see this game and it’s killing me. I literally think about it every day 😭😂
Rosie seems so wholesome! Love her energy!
Ahhhh the walk into town to get a new game... Nothing beats it. Slight butterflies in the stomach, mind racing, 'wish I pre-ordered, will they run out off stock? No dont be silly.. Pipe down mind'. This is why I'll always generally buy physical.
Mine was probably zelda BOTW for my WiiU. I remember waiting in line staring at the tv screen which was showing the BOTW trailer almost mocking me because it's not on MY tv screen and holy poop was it worth the wait, it was breath taking and awe inspiring from beginning to end.
I have never been more excited for any game than Skyrim back in 2011. I remember watching the e3 trailer and gameplay sneak peak videos over a dozen times and tried to find everything I could about the game while waiting for it.
It's so hard to choose one I've been cripplingly excited for so many games. CoD MW2, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, GTA 5, Fallout 4, RDR2 and RE2 Remake and that's all I can quickly come up off of the top of my head. Games are so amazing.
Mgs 3 snake eater bought it on the day and it was a snow day at my school. Forgot about the snow played it all day.
Final Fantasy 10, getting the demo with the opening cut scene, I'm surprised I didnt burn my ps2 out from watching that so much! Same happened with Metal Gear Solid 2
Dragon age origins, used to spend ages going through Biowares website reading all the bios and lore theyd written out, as well as admiring all their purty character animations.
It's still "Electronics Boutique" here in Australia believe it or not 😋😁.
OMG that brings back memories - ISS - International Superstar Soccer!!
Literally just started FFIX on my PC while playing the video on my phone 🖤
Days Gone for me... Was hyped from that first announcement trailer in 2016 to release. It was like they'd finally made a 'zombie' game that was specifically for me.
Mine was MGS4
I remember it came out the same week summer vacation started and I spent almost all summer just playing that game
It felt like something was missing in this video. And I think I've come to the conclusion that it was Elle's laugh. Miss her.
But Skyrim would probably have been my number 1 choice for a game I was most hyped for.
Man, since I first heard of
The new spiderman in 2018 I was so damn excited like i was counting the days till they gave us a release date. After that i was just crazy waiting for september 7th to come, I preordered the ps4 pro spiderman edition the same day it was avalaible. The best money i’ve ever spend I still admire it every day when I play. I don’t think I’ll be able to sell it when ps5 will be out, I just love it too much.
I'm currently playing Final Fantasy IX for the first time and every time it gets mentioned in a video I'm super happy :D I love this game. It took my best friend about 15 years to convince me to play it :D
Having a Tuesday checklist on a Wednesday is the best thing ever. Please never change the name or day.
Probably one of the quest for Glory sequels back in the day.
I was pretty hype for No Man's Sky, too...
Actually, Naths entry reminds new of NCAA Football 04 hype. That's up there for sure.
Most excited i have been for a game release was any metal gear solid game but i really remember been super excited for metal gear solid 2 when i was younger.
It always surprises me how old Nath is
I vividly remember my hype for Spiderman 2 (the movie tie in) on PS2
I'd watched the trailer hundreds of times on my Spiderman 2 DVD, I'd talked about it to friends at school, I even specifically remember the night before I got the game, I was too excited to sleep I was lying in bed just IMAGINING how good the game would be. Then in the car on the way home I just stared at the box, opened it looked at the disc, read the manual. Genuinely don't think I've ever been more excited for a game
My absolutely most hyped game was Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, got it for Christmas with my Wii and dreamt about it for probably a week constantly leading up to actually playing it. The reveal of it at E3 still gives me chills to this day.
Dragon Age: Inquisition. I have a feeling the next one is going to make me even more excited though, unless they completely ruin it, which might happen.
