In The Last of Us the part where the sniper keeps firing at you and you have to go sneak up on him from behind but first you have to make your way up the street to get to him. He killed me so many times and I also learned everything he said by heart and started mocking what he said in my frustration. I hated that part. Probably the worst rage quit I had. And I'm very ashamed of it because the next time I played I put the difficulty down to easy to beat that level.

@@SmashingSnow You had to drive a barrel of toxic waste from the Power Plant to the school. You were forced to use a relatively slow car. Crash the car too hard and the toxic waste will be destroyed and you'll have to go back to the Power Plant to get another barrel; whilst there's a separate time limit for returning to the plant if you need to, the time limit for getting from the plant to the school is so short, that if you make any mistake whatsoever that doesn't end up destroying the waste barrel, you will not have enough time to get to the school. There are enemy vehicles that will try to ram you at one point, and that's as well as the cop cars that will come after you if you cause too much collateral damage. Also, Grandpa Simpson is in the car with you, and he will recite the same two war anecdotes over and over and over and over again, which really doesn't help you stay calm when you're already panicking/raging.

Rob snapping the disc in a very outwardly calm but inwardly furious manner is exactly the sort of focused rage I'd expect from him. I very recently rage quitted a first playthrough of DMC4 when fighting the ice toad boss because he was literally one hit away from defeat and then he spam ate me three times in a row - that level of bullshit was too much to bare. Having a few cushions nearby to pound your fists into is a much better option to vent the rage than flinging controllers - a lesson hard learned.

The part where you come out of the underground that's underwater and have to start the generator in The Last of Us. I just remember the dread and an embodied sense of where I genuinely did not want to start the generator, but I knew I must to continue on. Playing it through on PS3 seemed a lot harder than the remastered version on PS4, even on the same difficulty level. I vaguely recall a difference of being able to kill some of the runners/stalkers upstairs before starting the generator downstairs, rather than starting it and having to take on all of them, including some clickers and a bloater, and on the harder difficulties I only had so much ammo haha, but yeah I got to a point where I physically did not want to do it...although, in the end, I'm very glad I did.

Oh, Rob, I feel ya bruv! I rage quit KZ2 at that same point after feeling all those same feelings. The difference is that "I feel _nothing_ for you, game" was when you snapped the worthless data disk, I put it back in the box, thinking maybe I could sell it back to Game Exchange or Gamestop or somewhere. Which I never bothered to do. So when KZ3 came out, I decided to replay this one, and I discovered something during the battle _outside_ the palace. The first time, it had been a tough battle because I was waiting for obvious opportunities to move forward. This time, I moved forward whether I thought I should or not, and found that the attacks I was expecting from behind never materialized . . . because the game was adjusting the deployment of the ISA forces in response to ME!
I dunno. This somehow changed mine attitude towards the entire game just before the final confrontation inside the palace . . . and while I can't say that it was a cake walk, I *know* that I beat that fight with relative ease. I think I learned more about the limitations that the Helghast were operating under. It was a challenge, but it was nowhere near the juggernaut it had been.

Did supply lines the other day, was losing it until I found some great helpful info, don't hold the drive button all the time, it's just for getting height and glide the rest of the way and always go for the motorbike first as he is the worst one so if you die you didn't waste time, then do north ones then south so you are close to Zeros place, smashed it first time after knowing that. Also I have felt all of the feelings the team has felt, so good to be reassured I'm not alone aha.

My GTA San Andreas issue was that I never really learned how to do drive-by shootings, so on the mission Ice Cold Killa, where you have to steal the phone from Jizzy, I kept failing as I was using a stretch limo (hard to control) to try and ram him rather than shooting his car to pieces.
In the end, I discovered that if you destroy his car BEFORE entering the club (you have to kill the doormen too, as they attack), when he runs out, the car hasn't respawed - he looks around for an alternate escape route, and steals a moped from a pizza boy, making chasing him down and killing him WAY easier!

i HAD a 20th aniversary playstation 1 style ps4 controller, i was playing DS3 on my first blind playthrough, noobing pontif sulivaughn for about a week, learnt how to parry, completely restarted the game with a new build and weapon loadout, i was in the final phasei , had used my last lightening resin at that point had just delivered the final blow on his clone. i had him to that agrivating point where you cant see any red in the boss health bar anymore and you just know it should already be dead already, i panic rolled and missed the parry on the recovery and i hammered my controller into the table with the power of a blacksmith pounding an anvil and shattered it and then in anger at myself i continued to smash it.
i keep the controller as a symbol of my most embrasing ragequit .

The only time I am able to remember that I have rage quit involved Grand Turismo and 23 hours of a 24 hour endurance race. I had managed to keep awake for enough of the race to maintain a slim lead, in a car greatly outclassed by even the token joker slot. I had just made my final possible pit allowed in my strategy, when my cousin cut between the tv and myself, to save 2 steps, and his foot snagged my controller and ripped it out of my hands and it skidded under a table pinning down the accelerator and right turn. I just stood up, turned around, and hit him squarely in the nose. I then went to bed and learned about it latter.

My biggest rage quit was fighting Segrun the Valkyrie Queen in GoW, I was doing it on normal mode and it took me like 15 tries to get her to a sliver of health and I had my Rage mode all charged and ready and for some reason she just would not take any damage and the second my Rage ended she came for me, I proceeded to twist my controller nearly in half but then I thought “wait it’s not worth it just try and beat her again!” so I did and I tried to beat her another 10 times after but was never able to get as close as the one time, so I reloaded the save on easy mode and beat her ass 1st try, I’m not proud of it, but I got the Platinum and that’s all I cared for.

Of course I can do it now, the whole game is sadly too easy to to repeat plays now.

Bloodborne, Having done everything else in the game and all the DLC and bosses, I was working my way through the Chalice dungeons and the endless bosses there. I was about three or so bosses away from the Queen (ie for the last trophy) and there was this boss with a really long sword (can't remember the name). Tried many times, even had killed him but just lost my last health a the same time. I literally tried everything. Then the moment came (just as Rob described). Silently took that disk out and snapped it. Never played it again (...but maybe one day). I actually completely changed my gaming habits after that. I now play multiple games together (on different days) which really prevents that rage quite disaster.

My best mates anger management rage quits are legendary!
    Classic example:
we were playing pro evo on the ps2, he at this point had beaten me 600+ games in a row over many weekends of play. Well this time i was 4 goals up within 2 mins and he began accusing me of using cheat codes and he reset the match. So again 2 mins in and im winning 5-0.. reset match. It happened again in the 3rd so he launch the controller off the floor smashing it to bits, punched the wall and shouted ‘how r u beating me?!’ I hit him with the ‘cause im better than u’ well that made him flip more ‘ur not better than me ur a piece of s*#%t!’ He then ejected the disc, threw it across the room, bit into it and like Rob snapped it in half. He stormed out, jumped into his car spinning wheels as he took off. Tens mins later he txt saying ‘i may have over reacted’ 😅

Crash Bandicoot, the remake of PS4, is the most rage inducing game I have ever played. No other game has made me more angry. I think part of it is just how childish the game looks and act, makes you think, "Even young ones can do it, why can't I?!" Then you get to the high road, which I must have tried over 100 times and multiple days until I raged so hard I just completely gave up. I made my friend share play with me, gave him the controller and he did the rope walk all the way there. He is a better man than I.

My brother shattered a Dreamcast NFL disc on the floor when it was too scratched to play correctly. As for me, I vaguely remember slamming a controller (more like, slamming my arm that was holding the controller) but I can't remember when or what game I was playing. It must have been over a decade ago, because it was a PS2 controller, I think.
I don't rage much, but I did once dent a wall with an empty plastic thread spool when my sewing machine kept locking up and eating my fabric. At least with a game, you can always try again, but when you ruin a handmade thing, you've got to completely start over and reinvest the same amount of time and money and effort. It was so satisfying when I finally bought a new sewing machine and was able to throw the old one into the ground a few times before tossing it into a dumpster. What? That's not rage. That's _justice._

Back in 2009 i was doing the combat challenges on Arkham Asylum (this was on the xbox 360).
There was one particular challenge where halfway through the fight the floor would become electrified and you would have to quickly switch platform while maintaining your combo.
I failed many times and was becoming more and more irate with each attempt. Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore and I slammed my controller onto my coffee table......luckily the table survived but my xbox controller definitely did not (it exploded). Technically this was a rage that forced me to quit as that was my only controller so i had to drive to a 24 tesco to buy myself a new one (it was about 11:30 pm)
When i got home i tried the challenge again and did it first time....
When i platinumed the remaster of Arkham Asylum on PS4 i had zero issues with any of these challenges.
To this day i blame that controller
