    My dad worked on Kingsley's Adventure, and when I went and told him Rob had played it and enjoyed it, (at the time of originally playing it...) he was quite pleased with himself. I'm glad that's 1 more confirmed player of Kingsley, bringing the number, finally, into the triple digits.

    "My mum is in a gang?"
    Possibly the best comment ever made on the channel, Dave. xD I had to watch that bit a good ten times before I could move on to the rest of Nathan's entry.

    Kingsley’s Adventure!!!! I’ve been looking for this game for ages, and thought I must’ve made it up as I couldn’t find it. Life = complete, cheers 👍🏻

    I love when Hollie went "I think a French(?) children's tale called The Little Prince?", which is basically the most famous children's book if you take into account the whole world, and the whole team was just like "Euhm okay sure never heard of it but ok fine". Hahaha love you guys, great video and loved to see your more obscure likings from the past :p

    My entry would be Majin and the forsaken kingdom. I’ve never heard of it before its release, but there was this little games shop in my hometown. There works a nice woman, she recommended it to me. I really enjoy it! Sad that this little stores cant survive today. This woman worked better than any gamesstop employee Ive ever met. :(

      I came down here to say the same thing, that game was great but my dad traded it in and I've never been able to find a copy (without an outragous price tag on it)

    I've gotta admit, was hoping one of you would have mentioned Monster Rancher...seems like no one's heard of it. In the game you would go to "The Shrine" and irl, take the game disc out and put in a CD or other game disc. Different discs would give you different monsters that you could raise, battle and go on adventures with. It even had a tie in cartoon on Saturday morning, but alas, Monster Rancher couldn't compete with Pokémon and Digimon. Also, gonna grab Deiland asap, thanks for the recommendation Hollie!

    • @TesseractE
      @TesseractE 6 лет назад +5

      Friend of mine tossed in an 'Adult' DVD to generate a monster for Monster Rancher 3 and it generated a new creature that was too high level for him to be allowed to obtain.
      My copy of the original game was sadly inside a friend's PSX when it got stolen. :( One disc I recall that generates a powerful unique monster is Tecmo's Deception. ^^d

    Vexx is one that I rarely ever see people talk about. It was on the PS2 during the era of 3D platformers and the slogan on the back of the case was "Screw the princess, save the world!" It was your usual affair of fighting enemies, killing bosses, and getting new powers to explore new areas of the map. Ton of fun

  • @stevendalzell5547
    @stevendalzell5547 6 лет назад +1

    Here's one for you: "James Bond-Everything or nothing" on the PS2 had an amazing two player splitscreen campaign, featuring levels that were not in the main game. You and a friend could choose between four unique "00" agents, playing across levels that were not in the main campaign. Reaching the various objectives in the levels would eventually unlock the 4 player arena stages, including the one where Jaws wonders around the level attacking whoever comes into contact with him.
    One of my favourite multiplayer experiences from the past, and one not many people are aware of. If you have a buddy, I'd highly recommend this one.

    Certainly other people have heard of this game (series,) however, I'm fairly sure that only people over 25 will be cool enough to remember. I'm talking Sierra's "Dr. Brain" series. Man, those games were the best. Learning has never been so fun for a child. I must've been like 8 and the game had been out a few years, but my grandpa was a teacher at the time and he actually had a homebrew PC at his house that he built in his off time (at like 50,) back in the days before you could just go out and buy a gaming computer. That was my first exposure to video games.
    He also got me into The Incredible Machine and The Even More Incredible Machine (Rube-Goldberg-Machine games,) and he got me super into Myst at the same time.
    Aww man, remember Myst?! Best puzzle game ever. For anyone who doesn't know Myst, it still holds up to this day, legitimately, and your life cannot be considered complete until you beat this game. You can buy it on the iOS store under the name "RealMyst" for $5.00 USD and it's worth every penny.

    I guess I can say a game I love no one here has probably heard of is "You're in the Movies". It is mainly minigames and best with three other people. Where you pick a role for the movie you choose and get different minigames. Some of them you play with others, and some are solo. Also this game is an Xbox 360 exclusive. :')

    As for games you might not of heard of are two. 1) Namco Museum a collection of older video games. Including games such as Pac-Man and Toy Pop. (PS1) 2) Airblade you ride on a futuristic hovarboard. Besides the standard tricks you get in any “skateboard” game, there was a story mode. Not deep but it was fun. (PS2)

    One Must Fall is one I loved that basically no one has heard of. It was a DOS game from the '90s where you played the pilot of a giant robot (think Pacific Rim) which you would use to fight other robots in the style of a Mortal Kombat (complete with 'fatality' type moves) game. You could pick between several pilots who had varying stats, and robots which had varying abilities which could be upgraded as the game progressed.

    i loved a game on the PS2 called Alter Echo, it was this scifi adventure where u could transform between a sword wielding guy, a huge tall tank with a gun, and a stealthy lizard who could turn invisible - the whole planet that you were on was alive and he was your companion and i remember the enemies were all quite varied and u had to mix and match your powers to fight them all, and there was all kinds of traversal and cool kinda biomechanical environments. its probably one of my favourite games actually, great memories conquering that when i was younger ! and bloody no one has heard of it !!

      Some of the games playable on DOS were pretty underrated, I especially loved those Sierra adventure games like Kings Quest, Space Quest and my favourite Police Quest. I wonder if those text adventures would be good again on current gen consoles. Probably not but I'd buy it if a development team (maybe an Indie developer) made one with 100 times better graphics than the original ones, yeah I'd get it.

    My game that no one has ever heard of is an old PC title called Legends of Valour. It was a DOS game that was released in 1992, and it felt extremely unique for its time. It featured a "huge" open world city with lots of secret underground catacombs. It had guilds, and quests, and first-person gameplay. It was basically 1992's equivalent to Skyrim. I never really got very far in the game but boy did my imagination run wild with all the potential games like that could hold. Previously the only FPS games I had ever played were Wolfenstein and Doom. Fortunately I found a site that'll let you play the game right from your browser. Unfortunately the game has not aged well...
    My PlayStation games that no one has ever heard of are Klonoa Door to Phantomile on PS1, and Rule of Rose on the PS2. They're not quite as obscure as LoV up there, but I've not met too many people who have actually heard of either of these games. Klonoa is cute and fun. It's a 2.5D platformer similar to Crash Bandicoot. It has an ending that needs to be experienced.
    Rule of Rose appears to be the most rare PS2 game ever, so I lucked out getting my copy when it was a new release. It's a survival horror style game similar to Silent Hill 2. It has really neat dog mechanics. I don't actually recommend bothering trying to play this game because it's not very good from a gameplay perspective. Combat in the game is just awful. But the graphics, cut-scenes, sound-track, story, and atmosphere are all really compelling. The game is creepy as hell. It's like someone took Lord of the Flies and Mean Girls and stuck 'em together, and put it in a surreal 1930's England. If ever there was a retro game that I would love to see get seriously overhauled, it's Rule of Rose.
    My honourable mentions go to the bit.Generations series on the GBA. They're all very minimalist and released only in Japan. Sound Voyager and Dot Stream are the two I'd recommend the most. Sound Voyager is the only audio-only game I've ever played. Everyone should try it at least once with good headphones and their eyes closed.

    Most of what I played growing up was the random shareware games you could get for the Mac OS. One that was great was, Escape Velocity (and it's sequels) It controlled like Asteroids or similar games but you flew to different planets and systems, doing missions, trading and fighting other ships. I loved it. It was also stupidly easy to mod (intentionally so) so part of the greatness of it was the creativity of the community around that as well.
    Another, that I played through a less-than-legitimate source, was Robotrek for the SNES. You build robots and program their attacks (think Final Fantasy meets Pokemon for the combat) and the story was a cool time-travel conspiracy thingy. It's made by Enix so I'm sure this one isn't too obscure.

    I love it when people think vegans are going to get offended by video game content because an animal in the game is hunted or eaten. That's like saying "Oh, Suzy doesn't kill people IRL so she might be offended by all the murdering in GTA." Um... No. I'm not saying that there aren't people that are offended by these things, but most gamers probably aren't. I'm vegan and I play Monster Hunter, Spyro, Elder Scrolls, farming sims, pokemon, and many other games that "exploit" animals. It's not real. lol That's the fun thing about games. If it were real, every person who has ever played The Sims would be labelled a psychopath. :D (I'm looking at you, Hollie, with your monster person!)

      Rei Zak I have Celiac disease and have to avoid gluten at all costs, even a single crumb coming into contact with my food will make me extremely sick and cause excruciating pain along with intestinal damage.
      I don't have a choice in the matter and it was a massive lifestyle change plus I literally cannot eat out anymore and it also alienates me from people.
      My family still thinks it's a joke despite knowing it's a life and death matter. I hate having to justify my medically necessary lifestyle all the time and don't even mention it to people if I don't have to. That and they act like I'm so rude and inconsiderate for being 100% commited to this regardless of if it hurts someone's feelings that I won't eat their food.
      I entirely understand where you are coming from. We are choosing to live these ways but we aren't forcing anyone else to do it and yet we get judged by the people shoving their health opinions down our throats.
