In the Manga, Duel Monster was "Magic and Wizards" in its first appearance and was literally just MTG but simplified for drama. It got renamed when he realized he couldn't make it a reference forever.
At least they haven't tried reinventing the wedge names yet. Still, I got into this game around Magic Origins with Magic Duels and even I can tell the game is way different now.
Hell. I remember when Magic the Gathering was ACTUALLY Magic the Gathering. Not this Commander bullshit people are getting force fed if they want to be able to continue engaging with the game.
Have you ever met the "only casual EDH toxic players" ? They'll hate you for life if you play more than 0 removals in a deck and if you don't need 15 turns to play your first nonland card. And when they lose it's never because they made a terrible deck but always because of bad luck or bad matchup etc
Digital only cards do suck tho. Why cant i play historic without alchemy? Literally nobody likes alchemy. And before you come at me about oh well then just don't play it that's kind of the problem is I love magic and like playing it and I feel like I'm getting pushed away from playing the game that I like. 😢 its not even attracting new fans its just upsetting the fanbase

The only people who like the reserve list are those people who already have everything on the reserve list.
