Everyone is raving about this game and I’m on the dragon quest hype as I’m playing builders and think this looks great.. the only thing that’s stopping me from getting it is the combat. Anyone with experience in this game have any help or opinions for me or did anyone feel the same going into it?
Maybe check out Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2, they’re based on the Musou series and are action based. But, if you don’t like turn based combat, why force it?
It’s very simple compared to other turn based games, so that may be in your favor! Maybe cut your teeth on some older games with turn based to build up that taste in it?

You have no magic damage really. Or a dedicated healer/buffer. As long as you have a cleric and a mage . Any other comp is fine . A mage is always needed for the ridiculous damage output . And a dedicated healer for damage mitigation and the bad ass heals .
4 gladiators equals enemy dead in one turn
Did you ever get far enough to get the combo classes?
you should have name him Harry the boy who lived
so can you enter a pep mode every battle if you try for it? or is it like final fantasy 9 trances, the thing everyone hated, where it happens basically when it wants to, even on trash mobs, and then you'll never have it available when you need it
It's different for every character, usually based on relationships between friends taking damage and their role in the party. I'm not very well versed in FF9 as it's my least liked game in the series. 😅
ok thanks
Are those the char from dqviii ?
I didn’t know about zoom until 20 hours in the game..
You didn't pay attention to Veronica when she's guidin you how to zoom
Is it online
I can't beat the 1st dragon !@
Yo I have the switch version and I don't/can't have the free dlc costumes. I go to the eshop and it says it's not available
Me neither. Probably it is because we did not buy the DELUXE version upon the release?
@@elenac7082 but like I thought only the deluxe version was on switch
@@jethiliusavalar6449 I bought digital version, during the sales. It was a normal Definitive edition, not Deluxe
@@elenac7082 oh. I honestly didn't think there was a deluxe edition and u made a typo lol
@@jethiliusavalar6449 Ah, pardon. English is not my mother tongue, u know, I am from Switzerland. Can you indicate where is the typo?
Algorithm has sent me here today
Everyone is raving about this game and I’m on the dragon quest hype as I’m playing builders and think this looks great.. the only thing that’s stopping me from getting it is the combat. Turn based has never been my thing, I like fast paced , real time action combat best and I’m just unsure whether I’d enjoy the combat here or find it a chore. Anyone with experience in this game have any help or opinions for me or did anyone feel the same going into it?
Maybe check out Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2, they’re based on the Musou series and are action based. But, if you don’t like turn based combat, why force it?
@@AnamanaCh Thanks I'll check them out and idk I quite want to try this game and maybe it could sway me to like the combat when I get it in my hands
It’s very simple compared to other turn based games, so that may be in your favor! Maybe cut your teeth on some older games with turn based to build up that taste in it?
Go into your settings and turn up battle speed! I’ve got mine on ultra fast lol
@@michaelmiller3365 I love how your response is 2 years later when back then I was considering these games and now I have DQ 11, DQ Heroes 1+2 and DQ Builders 1+2 lol, love the series!
Only thing that bothers me is that party members don't appear when your exploring but suddenly show up in combat. Ruins the immersion
that's in the switch version
Do the harvest materials respawn over time??
Yes.
yes anytime you go to campfire rest or go in to town it resets good harvest gringing that way
Ok nice
Good to know. Going to pick it back up after i finish shadow of the tomb raider.
Definitely gonna grind this time
@@richardrabe7940 not exactly, some nodes like mining spots, tall grass, and trees take a little longer to respawn. usually warping 2 zones away and resting does the trick for those.
@@davidbowser3181
How far should you zone to in the start area
Can you change hairstyles
Dude
DUDEEEEEEEEEE
I NEED help with magic. I understand Fire is frizz but It the buff and debuff with HOW TO GET RID OF THEM THAT I NEED HELP
@@hanthemaa I'm talk about HOW TO GET RID OF DEBUFF
"if your talking about debuff hitting your party via an enemy casting it I think you can only just wait until it wears off :("
Your serious WAIT IT OFF. Will I guess there armor with resist now are more valuable
The only thing that I hate about dragon quest 11 is you don’t fight with your sword the game does it itself the story is good if there were no trophies I wouldn’t play it twice in other dragon quest games you can fight and control the characters
i know it's been awhile but you can change the ai behavior in the misc. menu to allow you full control of the characters
But you do fight with your sword. And you can control the characters.
Bought this game today on a whim and have put 4 hours into it so far. It's the game Zelda BOTW wished it was.
Can't really compare the two at all. One's an Action RPG series and the others Turn Based. Both are great games for different unrelated reasons.
@@AnamanaCh They share plenty in common.
@@tylerb2438 A fantasy world? An inventory? That's really it.
Animal Crossing is the game Total War : Three Kingdoms wished it was
Hitting enemies with your horse DOES get you experience, just not very much. You get like 1-4 XP per enemy run over
In the grand scheme of things, basically nothing.
Loosing half your money isn't funny. Why you nervous laughing old chap?
The game is too easy.
I finished octogonia tournament and except a few attacks that removed 3/4 of my hp, I never died.
The hat is important. His hair annoys the hell out of me. If only I can do something about the fact that he’s a silent character tho.
First tip, play on the hardest difficulty
This game so easy you need none of that.
i think theres something you should cover that you didnt. i quit the game and threw it in the trash because dungeons are terrible. it feels like you cant finish dungeons in 1 run and that feels absolutely awful.
Uh, this isn’t a tip, nor would it be helpful to anyone.
You are just bad then, not being able to complete dungeons in 1 run, I am able to clear it, no problem at all, and this is why you always go in prepared LUL
Lmfao 😂 😂
Chiiikane!🌹
I’m sorry you are bad at video games
I think turning on draconic harder enemies gives the game meaning. Every new skill and hitpoint matters.
I did it on draconian and just got so stuck on a very late game boss. It so satisfying to beat something you've been stuck on but it gets brutal late game
@@joshjenkins6232 Definitly. Dora is one of my most hated bosses ever and she's not even late game, but still the one boss that made me consider turning down difficulty (for a weak short moment).
