Pro mod dragsters ROCK! Great rat rod finds! PUREST form of hot rodding allowing full expression and creativity with NO RULES. My first rat rod was a junkyard '87 S10 with 427 Mercruiser big block and turbo 350. $40.00 worth of black primer rattle can provided 8 years and 30K miles of fun @ 15 MPG. Did a second respray about 4 years in and one new gas tank and one new fan switch. NO cut and buff, washed ONCE.
I’ve always liked the Willys coupes, as I am now 80 years old it amazes me the prices on todays “rat” rods. I’ve owned over 100 cars of all types. Back in the day I drove quite a few of what would now be called a rat rod , the term hadnt been thought of yet . These were cars I put together from collections of parts and I never spent over $500 on any of them 👍🤗🎩
I dont know what "style" you'd call it, but I love the outrageous multi engined dragsters from the early to late sixties. Tommy Ivo's WAGON MASTER being the pinnacle; 4 engines, 4 wheel drive and it's a station wagon [barely]. It doesnt get much wilder than that. As for todays vehicles, anyone oddball enough to put a slant six in a rat rod is a hero in my book, I'll take that one! :)
my favorite would have to be the light wieght super stocks of the 60s . special built drag cars with fiberglass bumpers fenders and hoods/trunklids also . stripped of heavy carpet with the flooring a glued down thin rubber mat . my fox body police car had rubber mat flooring to lighten it and make it easier to clean ! anyways , those early to mid 60s light wieght super stocks ! the kind you could order with a drag pack from a local car dealer add some parts , lose some unneeded parts ,,,a/c radio etc. and take racing . what a magic time for hot rodders .
Have had a Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster, Anglia's, Popular 3door delivery, Fabbed a Beryllium Copper 34' 3w coupe 6.12 in the 1/4... and built 45 others... some ongoing like the 35' MILK VAN, and a 40's nod to RAINBO BREAD Delivery. And always TRUCKS. Gotta say YOUR FOR SALE VIDEO IS REFRESHING AND DONE PERFECTLY... KUDO'S MY FRIEND, FOR A JOB DONE IN STYLE! Respectfully, Seth
Small tire street car is my favourite drag car... BUT Rat rod means RAT not a painted pretty hot rod... There is a difference... Not all hot rods are rat rods , only the ratty ones are, hence the name..
My favorite Dragsters are the ones that dudes wrench on in their own garage and not some corporate shop by some rich guy who got bored and decided to start a racing team and pours a million dollars into a car or 2 and runs it like a business, that's what Hot Rodding and Drag racing SHOULD be all about, Some guy who works at the local factory taking a 67 Dart that was about to be crushed and throwing a 440 that came out of his grandparent 71 Polara Station Wagon in it and going down the 1/4 mile as fast as he can, Drag racing has become a business and the little guys can't compete anymore, even the "Local/Regional" drag races are sponsored by corporations. I also don't generally like Rat Rods because they often look like hell because they don't want to to paint them and that's just lazy IMO. Idc if you run to your local O'Rielly and get a couple quarts of Duplicolor ready to spray paint, Wal-Mart rattle can flat black it or slap some house paint on it, do SOMETHING with it..... Putting all that work into building a bas-ass car and then leaving rust and faded paint on is just LAZY.

Dragsters are a specific form of Drag Racing cars..Rails, rail jobs, engine on a stick i.e. Top Fuel, Super Comp, etc. Full bodied cars are not dragsters.
I am looking for a truck project a late 30's early 40's chevrolet ford or dodge rat rod project mybe something someone hasn't completed I am in Illinois and have a budget. I had 37 chevy stolen when I was younger looking to replace.
This must be the Barrett Jackson auction addition for rat Rod sales.. The prices are high... 👀🤪🤯🤷,, I build rat Rods. With Rat Rod Bob.. We have over a year in a 1930 model A coup.. over 12,000$ in parts . Time labor... Over one year. 2 Guy's.. So add it up....$$$$$$.....

Gassers and Altereds
The Gassers being better only if they are manual shift cars, that adds another level of excitement.
Super Stock
Good choice!

Hard to choose, they are all cool. I think that I would have to pick AA/Fuel altereds as my favorite drag cars.
Good choice!

I agree. Those guys are in it for the heart and soul of racing and not for the profits.

Looking so far at #3. If these are rat rods im the friggin pope.
A/FX nothing is cooler than an altered wheelbase drag car
#10 and the beer truck are the only ones close to a rat rod, everything else was actually a hot rod.

These items are ridiculously overpriced. Take about 75% of the asking price off and you're be probably in a fair ballpark.
