A shaved head would add power, but the compression became so high, push starts were required. Advance the timing. Add alcohol to the gas, drill out the carb jets and the Plymouths would scream - for a mile or so. Then all that pressure on those long skinny rods made them so HOT they'd bend. Cars set up that way were teased as HOT RODS. Then bad became good...

Wheelie bars, parachutes and Drag slicks are NOT hot rods.. They a built for one purpose and one purpose only and that is . DRAG RACING!!!! Nothing else!!!!!..
According to Babvvo and Tebbvo laws, sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime!!!!!!!
Burn out some rubber in UK and the "Green" police are upon you in seconds. Very hard for the youth to have car meets where they learn how to safely modify and customise their machines. No-one in UK likes noise, pops, bangs, roars.. its all illegal. Oversize tyres, no bonnet, glass too dark, wrong exhaust.. you name it. Every Police officer is Mechanical Engineer it would seem yet its not safe for girls to walk home!! Work it out.
