    I'm amazed with all the RUclips channels that show these auctions of cars from the 40's, 50's and later. Clearly old timers collected (hoarded) and saved these old cars from so many decades ago. They then passed on and the auction folks show up. What I haven't understood is who has interest in saving and driving these old cars from say the 40's and 50's? I never see cars from that era on the road doing a Sunday drive. The people who had emotional connections to them from their youth have passed on or, are really old. So, there can't be much value in them these days and most sell for scrap prices I'd imagine. I think we all like and appreciate seeing these really old cars from so long ago but how many of us would really want one in the garage. With that said, I'm glad people are saving them.

      @@edwardcricchio6106 It depends. What you start with, how much work you do to it, what you put into it and how popular what you are working to start with.
      What do you start with. You want to start with something that has the least amount of work on it as possible and needing mostly cosmetic work if possible. And then having as much rust based repair work as possible.
      How much work you put into. There is a cut off point where to start. If it is within five points of repair and has as little as rust as possible, (Unless it is in a place that you can't avoid it like the Rocker Pannels in Square body Chevies.)
      Popularity of the car/truck. This is based on what is the most popular of each vehicle for sale. It would ba lot harder to sell a Coronet, than Challenger or Charger. A Pinto over Mustang.

    • @edwardcricchio6106
      @edwardcricchio6106 9 месяцев назад

      @@RobertGuidry-f3f All valid points. I spoke with Steve Magnante from Junk Yard Gold about the whole process and he echoed similar sentiments. He did say to do it on a television show is nearly impossible because many shops do not want to be involved with restoration and many issues always arise with production costs and so on. But, I guess if someone has the skills and a lot of free time, it would be a real kick to see a junkyard discarded car returned to glory. Perhaps a father who wants to give his 17 year old daughter a restored Camaro or Mustang and isn't concerned about making a profit on selling the restored vehicle. I think that would make for a very interesting video

It's very dangerous to buy cars that you don't know what your getting yourself into .. but I admit that I don't know anything about Broncos, they all look the same to me, so I wouldn't know if it's worth any big money or not like some of them are, but pretty sure most of them that are worth big money never started off as rat infested rust buckets. 500 for the fury is a steal, the parts alone are worth that

    I think that “ Javlin “ was actually an AMX Javlin. That thing was a power house but dangerous. Way too much motor for the car. The front badge said AMX. That may have been the steal of the auction.👍👍🇨🇦

    Christine I think was a steal. The point being restored they have some value. Even if you need a chassis and floor it will still be a steal.
