Cops Raid Gilgo Serial Killer Suspect's House In New Search

- Nearly a year after Rex Heuermann, an architect from Massapequa Park, was charged with killing sex workers found on Long Island's Gilgo Beach, investigators have returned to his home with a search warrant. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to the murders of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Amber Costello, Melissa Barthelemy, and Megan Waterman. The new search of Heuermann's home follows another search in Manorville last month related to the Gilgo Beach murders - many of which remain unsolved. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy looks at the latest search with NewsNation correspondent Laura Ingle, "True Crime with the Sarge" host Joe Giacalone, and documentarian Josh Zeman in this episode of Crime Fix - a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

I wonder if they could be including SD cards as devices. I know they aren't electronic devices themselves, but they require one to retrieve data stored on them.

@@E-magineMySurpriseI think you’re right, that’s exactly what cops and media do, they operate in ambiguity so they say that because it sounds crazy which eventually hurts him in a trial.
I am obsessed with this case and with the way the detectives did this job! He thought he is going to get away and then he got caught when he has feeling “safe” and comfortable with his monstrosity.

My heart sunk with this young ladies! Since they are a little kid they was living suffering and being victims for them whole life and they were also victims in the hands of this monster perpetrator.

Angenette is the best crime reporter IMO. She focuses on the news and doesn’t make the reporting about her, her followers, etc. She relays the facts without drama or manufactured outrage.

I suspect he used his home for burials until it was too full and found an off site new burial ground so he could continue. He probably wasn’t prepared for land that didn’t belong to him so it didn’t last.
I really like the way this channel (my favorite) is showing and updating us with this case without invade the wife and daughter lives.

I don't doubt that she suspected or even knew that he was a cheater. It's fairly common that some people choose to overlook cheating, for some reason. But cheating isn't murder. There is absolutely zero actual evidence that she knew he was LISK or that she participated in any way. The cops have already cleared her. They said as much in the very first press conference. Maybe stop blaming innocent people, who are already going through a hellish experience of their own. The only person to blame is Rex, period.
Smacks of Fred and Rose West. They had victims buried in the garden and under the floor in the house. They got away with it for many years and at first Rose was not believed to be involved. Very similar.
They suspected her, they put her in a hotel room that was bugged. When she snubbed Fred at his first hearing, he threw her under the bus.
@eamonwright7488 yes her Mae and Stephen went to a safe house that was bugged to see if they could get any more info, but they genuinely only thought it was fred and the murder of Heather in the beginning.

Probably more likely that they found something in those 422 devices imo. Maybe even photos of the crimes. Rex’s lawyer won’t let Rex talk without a plea deal and the state won’t offer that because they have plenty of evidence

They did. It was a two week long ordeal. They even cut into the bathtubs.
He’s giving a plea deal and confessing and providing details they now need to verify. They’ll confirm everything he’s confessed to is true before announcing to the public.
I’m thinking he has confessed to certain things and this 2nd search is a result.

Just a couple thoughts have they ever and why are they not digging up the front? What about the driveway any area there? That’s been paved over the past few years. Is there any opening around the bottom of the house that would’ve had an open air space or crawl space that had been cemented back up so that no one would see, anything at the base of the home.. rafters crawl spaces dig the whole land up!
Lol just dig every bit up then tear down the house searching yet again 😅

Maybe why they may have evidence that links Rex to those crimes from search in Manorville. That would make more logical sense why this second search warrant.

I think your right and that’s why the warrant was issued while she was away. Essentially they asked her to be away because they knew the warrant was coming as he’s been cutting a plea deal.

Kind of incompetent of the cops to not do a thorough search the first time. I doubt they uncovered something that they couldn't have possibly thought of the first time around. They do understand that 8 months is a long time and the family could have destroyed or tampered with evidence regardless if they knew about it and it was their intent or not.
