DIY: 5 Lug Conversion on your Car or Truck
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- DIY four to five lug conversion and wheel bearing replacement. In this video I show you how to do a 4 to 5 lug conversion on a Nissan 240sx owned by RUclipsr SaabKyle04, but this applies to any 4 lug car. You can also use this process to go from a 5 to 6 lug on a truck or even 6 to 5 lug if you want. You are basically replacing the wheel bearing and hub assembly so this lug conversion applies to many different cars and trucks.

I was always afraid to do something on my car before, but since i discovered chrisfix channel, now I DO EVERYTHING on my own car. It saves me a lot of money and above that, i'm really proud after the work i did. So THANKS A LOT CHRIS!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
That is awesome! I am glad the videos are helpful and that you are also having fun and feeling amazing fixing your own car! That is what it is all about!

Thanks a lot!!!
chrisfix making sure we dont hurt ourselves during the repair is such a nice detail
Absolutely! Safety always comes before anything else!
@@chrisfix as a highschooler in the direction of carmechatronic I couldn't agree more, it is especially emportant not to hurt ur self when a tool brakes, if you hit your hand on the car and start to bleed, wash it off and put a band aid on it, be like our tutorial maker and friendly neighbourhood Cris that can Fix
Can someone please make a compilation of Chris saying “medium strength thread locker” from all of his videos.
Haha I’ll share it if it gets remixed.
I will do that! :)

ChrisFix i have an awesome idea you shuould take the oldest the most dirty car you have and clean its interior and exterior and engine bay and clean all the oil tanks and basically every thing and dont clean the towel ar dont throw old oil and fuel and the dirt came from its tank and see how much oil came out. I know it will take very hard work and time but pls do it im very very curious to see how much dirt and oil comes off
Thanks a lot Chris! I had a blast, we'll have to do it again sometime!

Man, watching your videos really shows how easy a lot of "scary mecanic work" really is
I can't wait to work on my car now
Awesome!!!
Until something fucks up, bolt breaks off, cant get to a bolt your trying to loosen, replacing something to find out that wasnt the problem, of course losing that 10mm socket you need, breaking the tool you needed, not having the tool you need and finding out it's really expensive, hitting your head on the frame of the car by accident 😂😂😂, etc.

This is one of the best diy videos I have ever seen, I was even looking to do this but kept watching until I realized it was over lol. Very well made, clear, smooth and quick. It really is good!
90% of your videos I watch have nothing to do with my life at all but I watch them anyway xD nice videos man!
Thanks a lot! Hopefully you learn something new while watching as well!
I actually have two videos I would like you to make!! How to fix a sagging headliner of a car (the material one) and how to fix a small crack (big chip) in a bumper without spraying the whole bumper

ChrisFix you my friend have saved me so much money and made me learn so much about cars thank you so so so much ❤️✌️
Damn ....I don't even wanna imagine that, it ain't easy man. Keep it up. Gewd!

Quick tip: When replacing brake rotors, it's usually a good idea to also replace the brake PADS. If the old pads still have plenty of material, at the very least, resurface the pads with some heavy grit sand paper...
Good tip
The breaker bar is so satisfying
not as satisfying as the torque wrench
I have always wondered if ChrisFix buys his medium-strength thread locker in bulk.
Not to mention brake clean, paper towels and the ChrisFix patented "Soapy Wooder"
Why? He just uses "A little Bit" .....
haha surprisingly I buy those small containers. I really should get bulk thread locker!

Can you sometimes in the future do a drum to disc brake conversion? Preferably to a E30 :) since i have one. if not no problem Thanks
Winesh Ghazi check out might car mod they did a drum to disc on a Mitsubishi evo
Winesh Ghazi Nice. The e30 was always a good car.
In the process of doing 4 to 5 lug and drum to disc conversion on my 02 accord. I ended up needing the whole steering knuckle front and back.
Winesh Ghazi he’s going to, on a video he made on the mustang he showed a “drum to disk brake conversion” on the side bar. He also said all of those videos are coming in the future!
What e30 model do you have?
Its amazing how chris has 6 mill subs and is still in his comment section showing appreciation and making conversation (rApPEr lol) What a humble guy
i love how you so easily use mistakes as teachable moments "Pull it out with the pliers, and if ti breaks don't worry, just pull it out from the other side" You do this in a lot of your videos and I really love it. Things rarely go according to plan and it's nice to have a few extra tips

I'm 12 I don't have a car but I love to watch your videos because they inspire me to be a engineer/mechanic
Keep up the good work
same😂👍
MudJugBill that is actually wrong. They say if you get paid to do what you love than you don't see it as work at all.
MudJugBill you're going on personal opinion for you but if you actually loved your job it's not like working. Maybe your management or pay sucks. It also makes your skill set even better since you do it daily so personal projects would have a better fit and finish. I'm an electrician love what I do and just bought my first home and have many projects planned out.
MudJugBill I already am. Was doing audio systems for friends cars in high school. Did online how-to projects like making tasers out of Altoid cans. Not I'm an electrician and have been one since 2008. Currently building a nightlight for my daughter's room. It is what you make of it and you shouldn't be going around trying to kill the dreams of a 12 year old just because it didn't work out for you.
MudJugBill like I said, that is YOUR truth, not everyone else's. There is no need to down play what I said, it was a hobby of mine at a young age dealing with electrical things and now I make a living off of it.
I've been subscribed to ChrisFix for a few years now. I've learned a ton and left a few comments.

I dunno i don't even have a car or driving license bc im 14 but your videos are just so entertaining since im very intrested what comes to cars and other vehicles that has 4 wheels and bc of your educating and entertaining videos i might be able to get that summer job from the local garage and i dunno about how these things work in america or other countries but in Finland we have this TET-week (työ Elämään Tutustumis. Im too lazy to translate atm but you can translate if with some translator or read my desciption btw) wich is that one school week you go to somewhere you wan't to work for one week and ask if you could go and work for them (without wage wich sucks but we have own day for that work too and they might give you a little tip if done good work) and in here where i live is only 2 car shops one is that garage and other is body shop so thanks to these videos and that my grandfather and father knows lots about cars and they will teach me too im starting to get a hang for this but i've heard that in USA you can get your drivers license when 16 years old and if that's true im so fucking jealous bc in Finland that age is 18

"A real easy trick is to go into the interior"

That's what I said out loud too when I saw that 😂
i know this is a joke but incase you were serious, interior means the inside of said thing(sitting in the seats, looking inside anything, etc)

Preferred Drift what year is your 240sx?
Nick Crane it's a 1990, 89k miles, all original
Preferred Drift you still need to do some research unless you plan to buy this exact kit and even then you should still read.

Wow the details he goes in to and patience to do what he does is crazy. LOVE every video, thank you for all the help to save money ChrisFix
Show us how to super clean the interior.
Brayden Moncrief step 1: remove everything from interior
Step 2: go to parts department in nearest Nissan dealership
Step 3: order all new parts for interior
Step 4: wait for parts to come from Japan

Step 7: enjoy all new parts from Japan

yeah
The reason it is recommended axle nuts are discarded after use is that many are torqued to yield and so strength is compromised after being torqued. Sometimes this means the nut is permanently stretched so its not even possible to thread it back onto the axle. However, not all are torqued to yield, follow the instructions in your service manual - if it is recommended to replace it, they're cheap, might as well.
