  • Brake pad replacement? Ever wonder how to make brake pads? Usually I show you a DIY like how to replace brake pads, but in this video I show you how brake pads are made!
Brake pads from this factory: www.NRSbrakes.com/nrs-chrisfix/
To make brake pads, we start out with raw pickled and oiled steel. The steel gets stamped into a brake pad backing plate which gets analyzed to make sure it meets OEM specifications. Next the brake pad backing plate goes to the NRS press to get a mechanical attachment. Then the backing plates get galvanized and finally brake pad friction material is added. The manufacturer can add and friction material they want such as semi-metallic, organic, or ceramic friction material. Lastly the shim is made and installed on the brake pad and they can be sent to testing! When it is all said and done, I took the brake pads we made and installed them on my truck with new brake rotors!
The company that let me film in their factory is giving all of my fans 20% off their brakes using the code "20off" at checkout. I do not make any money from this! They are doing this to get you guys to try out their new technology brake pads and I will always share a discount to help my subscribers. Here is the link: www.NRSbrakes.com/nrs-chrisfix/

This video was one of my most favorite that I have ever made! It took about a months worth of work and I hope you enjoy! It took a lot of time and work to make and NRS brakes literally closed down part of their manufacturing line so I could film this. It’s absolutely incredible how much help they were! I hope you guys like it and I hope other brands reach out so we can do more of these how-it’s-made episodes!
Also I will be in Ireland for a meet-up on Saturday July 13 so check out my Instagram or RUclips stories for more info if you are from Ireland!

I have been up since 3:30am watching videos on how to change out brake pads. I'm 65 now and so many changes on auto repair I wanted to see if it's something that I could still do. Watching several videos on what the best pads to buy for me Chris your video was the cause and deciding factor for me . My delima was OEM or after market and cheap vs expensive. Seeing the production video showed me that this company did not short cut any where. I'm going with these because even if I only keep the vehicle another year, I still will be operating it and safety is of utmost importance. Thanks for producing the video, and I going to be checking the closest video on changing brake pads for my 2018 Nissan Murano Platinum. Vance P 9/1/2021

If you’ve driven several vehicles, you’ve probably noticed that some vehicle windshields are equipped with a tinted strip on the windshield. The strip can either be blue that fades out as it gets lower, or it may be a pixelated strip that fades the lower it goes. These tint strips are usually around four to six inches in height and stretch the whole length of the windshield. The purpose of tint strips The tint strip on the windshield is actually known as a shade band. Its purpose is simple: to provide protection from the sun’s glare in that pesky spot just below your roof line and just above the visor. That spot is notorious for being difficult to block when you are driving into the sun shortly before sundown. The reason the shade band is only four to six inches in height is so it doesn’t obstruct or obscure your vision when you are driving in normal traffic. If the shade band stretched any further down, it could cause a distraction to some drivers or make it hard to see traffic lights at an upward angle. If your windshield doesn't have a shade band, it's important to get one. It's not mandatory on all vehicles nor is it required if your windshield was originally equipped with one, but it can prevent annoying glare from hard to block spots.

Usually in the UK, when you get the box, you literally get four pads. That's it. If you're lucky, you might get new caliper bolts, sometimes a couple shims, and if the car is a 'fancy' one, might come with wear indicators. (Both the steel tab ones or the electrical ones.) Piston cushions really would be a game-changer if they were included with pads.

I worked in Canada making all the machines to make Brake pads and recycle shoes. I remember NAPA and AutoZone touring the factory with 20 suits. All pads shipped to them said "made in USA", total lie. Bet they dont make any shocks or struts anywhere in North America. Boring anyway, just punch presses
