Thank you that black fondant was so hard for me thank you for showing me a new way.
You’re welcome! Before I discovered fondust I gave up making my own black fondant. Too messy with gel food colourings and I could never get it black enough so I always just bought black fondant!
Thank you!
You’re very welcome!!
Hi, thank you for your video. Can I use coconut oil or butter in place if shortening? We don’t simply get shortening where I live
Nice
Thank you ♡
You are welcome. Nice to see you, Maia!!
I used to do the same thing with setting my tools down, sometimes even to hold or tilt a bowl 🤣🙄🤷🤦🤣
Ive started using waxed paper to set my marshmallow covered items, but girl do what works for you.. Youre great !!
Haha yes! Sometimes I just feel like “oh I shouldn’t waste a piece of parchment” or “I’m not going to bother taking out a plate” lol. 💕
Waw thank you.
🥰💕
Totally awesome friend! I may check into that Fondust, it seems like a solid product!
Totally solid product!! I even used a bit too much. A little goes a long way!! 💕
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe good to know!
Thank you. Fondust is a product I've never heard of and will probably save me a lot of black gel.
It will! I bought the small one to test out how I would like it. Invest in the big one! I know I will next time. You actually don’t need too too much either because the colour will intensify as you let the fondant rest (or whatever you’re using it to colour for that matter!).
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe I'm looking forward to seeing how Homemade compares to store-bought. I've never bought fondant. Only because I have been undervaluing my work. A bag of marshmallows and icing sugar is cheaper than a tub of fondant. Plus with lockdown, I can get the ingredients in the grocery but can't get the fondant in the crafts section. Before trying marshmallow options I remember seeing a more intimidating homemade receipt using clear corn syrup.
Wow 18k moving strong 💜💜
Yes! I am so grateful! 🥰💕
Can you use vegetable oil If you don’t have shortening
I have purchased Satin Ice, however, it is super soft and tore easy as I placed it on my smbc covered cake. please help with your best advice. thank you
I’m going to be doing a comparison video about the homemade fondant vs. Satin Ice/other store bought ones I’ve tried and I’ll explain how I best use them all 💕🥰
Oh man I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from eating the marshmallow to make this 😂
Same! I love marshmallows!
Hehe I love marshmallow too, but I think my fave way is roasted!
💖
Is there a purple gel food colour you could recommend? I’ve tried regal purple and violet by Americolor, but they both turn out blue 🤷🏻♀️.
Oh darn! What about chefmaster?
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe thanks!
Am just here to say I love your voice.
Aw so sweet of you to say! 🥰
My fondant always get dried while kneading, and if I add more water/ glycerine to add back to moisture, then it gets sticky to the hands. Can you advice what to prevent drying that leads to crack in fondant figures plz🙏🏼
Shortening is the answer! I never add water to fondant-homemade or otherwise :)
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe Thank you!😊
I was wondering if you could show what you would put in a gift basket.
Like a treat basket? Sure! 🥰
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe yes bc I bake at home and wanted to know how you like to make yours. Thanks so much ☺️
What can I use instead crisco?
Some other brand of shortening you like better or a flavourless oil; I like shortening just cause it has the exact right consistency.
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe thank you for taking time to answer me.. It's really useful advice..thanks 😊
@@f.g.1528 you’re so welcome!!
