‘Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, to get through this thing called life!’ Let’s Go Crazy! Such an awesome song!!❤❤❤. This is from the movie ‘Purple Rain’.☔️
This video is like an ad for the Purple Rain movie. It won an Oscar for best soundtrack. You guys should definitely watch it! He had the number one movie, number one album and When Doves Cry was the number one single, all at the same time!
I saw Prince 16 times in the UK, 15 of those times in London. His 1992 Diamonds and Pearls concert in London was one of the peak experiences of my life.
Ive been to 5 concerts. His first one in 1984 purple rain tour in Memphis. I also went to one in Berlin, Germany. As the wall was being removed. You shoukd watch his halftime concert for the superbowl. No one will ever out do him on that. And my guitar weeps. Omg that man was beyond genius. Played every instrument, all vocals, wrote so many songs that other artist sang. I still miss him.
BTW, this version of LGC is the radio release. The version in the film, the extended mix, is incredible. It's got this tripped out middle instrumental section, you should hear!
Prince was the best guitarist ever, IMHO. Never missed a note and was never classically trained. Saw Prince 7 times, including in Tokyo, Japan and in Minneapolis, MN. Was also lucky enough to visit Paisley Park Studios in 2005, long before it was opened to the public after his death. Dope!!
Yes, "Let's Go Crazy" is the first track on the Purple Rain album, which is the soundtrack for the FILM Purple Rain. It's a great 80's film and a GREAT album! You should listen to the whole thing, and see the movie!
Yeah, I saw him in concert on his Purple Rain tour. Was pretty cool where the whole stadium was lit up purple. Great performer, great talent. One of a kind for sure.
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Prince twice in concert in the 80's and then in 2008 in Vegas in a small venue of 150 people, greatest show ever! Thanks guys for your reactions, love them
The album version has a longer intro. The 12” single is 7 minuter of pure enjoyment. This is from the movie Purple Rain that is 40 years old this year. The live performance was take from a concert where 5 of the 8 songs on the album weee recorded.
I watched his first concert purple rain tour in 1985 in Memphis Tennessee. I was so hooked on his music. I've seen his love sexy tour, diamonds and pearls, and one in Berlin, Germany. I was ready to go to the one he was announcing right before his death. I still cry for him. He was truly amazing. Want to see a crazy live performance. Watch his superbowl halftime concert. I say concert because he never did a show. They all were true concerts. And BTW it was raining so hard and he was upset it wasn't going to be raining harder. It's still the best superbowl halftime performance ever. I watch every year, but he still hasn't been out done.
Watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame video from 2004…..While My Guitar Gently Weeps. About 3 and half minutes in is a Prince guitar solo. He slays it!!
My daughter is 28 now, but she had heard Prince growing up. She was just as devastated as I was when he passed. We have still not healed from it and she is now playing all of his music for her kids!!
I was able to see Prince live on his Purple Rain tour at the Cow Palace, San Francisco/Daly City in 1985. My friend Geralynn had a friend who's dad worked for Ticketmaster and our friend group was given "Purple Circle" tickets for row 10 center section for free! Spectacular show. Prince was energetic, charismatic and quite seductive during all of his sets. It was a once in a lifetime event that I'll never forget.
Aside from his own genius albums, Prince also produced other acts, including Morris Day & the Time (also featured in his film Purple Rain), Sheila E, and Vanity 6 (later Apollonia 6 when Vanity, the lead singer, left the group). Would love to see y'all react to Vanity 6's biggest hit, "Nasty Girl" - it's a banger!
I saw Prince 4 times at Madison Square Garden. The best shows I ever saw! He was a brilliant and unique guitarist. I love his live versions of Something in the Water, Peach, The Question of U, and Chaos and Disorder. My brothers Scott and Billy are twins! Great channel! 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
Prince wore a wig in the movie."Purple Rain".The movie, the album, the year that made him a legend."1984" He had colored his hair before shooting.Prince had influences from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Wonder,James Brown,Rolling Stones
@MrMCCONNELL74 Prince did wear a wig but not for the full movie. It was later when filming some retakes. It was because after the initial filming he had tried to lighten his hair and apparently it didn’t turn out well. He got it cut off. That’s why his hair is short in the Raspberry Beret video.
Prince's former art director Steve Parke recently published a book featuring the intimate, behind-the-scenes photographs he took of the star during his time at Paisley Park. He also recounts the time Prince invited him to watch a montage of old performances he was preparing for the American Music Awards. When a scene from Purple Rain appeared, the star bellowed, "Look at that wig!" and burst out laughing. Parke later asked Prince's hair stylist Earl Jones about the comment. He explained the star had had to reshoot a few scenes after the filming wrapped - but he had already cut his hair and bleached it blond - necessitating the bouffant hairpiece. Jones added that Prince had reacted so badly to the bleach that his hair started breaking off, so he had to let it grow out, and dye it back to black. "The hairstyle in Raspberry Beret was literally all I could do with it."
First Prince song I remember consciously hearing and killer guitar solos hooked me in to hear the whole album later on which an older brother had. Certainly up there with the greatest guitar players I ever heard. Along with Eddie Van Halen, Jimmi Hendrix, Angus Young, Ian Moss and SRV, I just love the talent they all had at the instrument. Most of the other great guitarists only mastered the one instrument. As Prince could play so many instruments more and sing so many different styles I rate him the most talented musician I ever heard. But on guitar I could not say he is the greatest. He in the conversation with these others and there would be many more that I not named that just as brilliant in their own style. I certainly not heard anyone better than Eddie Van Halen. But the ones I mentioned off top of my head have all amazed me with what they can do on guitar.
My favorite Prince hair is from Graffiti Bridge era (89-90). It's the sequel to Purple Rain, the movie this footage is from. Saw Prince live in Charlotte and Raleigh on the same tour, plus an aftershow at a Raleigh club.
I think you would enjoy watching the rock and roll hall of fame video. 2004 while my guitar gently weeps. A song by George Harrison and george harrison's son is in the video I know you will enjoy this video. Prince gave his all to this video. When you see it, you will have to agree. ❤❤❤
The first song off of the album Purple Rain. No better way to start off an album than getting you hyped with this song. While there are many bangers on this album, this one is incredible. Purple Rain was an album designed to be based around the movie of the same name. This is from the movie Purple Rain. I rank Prince in the top 5 of guitarists. He is rarely mentioned in that category when asked. He should be. Check out the movie Purple Rain and you will get a better understanding of what is going on.
Footage is from the movie Purple Rain ❤ Do you know anybody who can dance like this in high heeled boots! He played over 20 different instruments as well!
Prince’s first movie was Purple Rain, that’s where the film scenes were from and this song was on the soundtrack. That film made Prince a superstar! You guys should check it out. It was just rereleased in 4K. It’s loosely based on his life.
It's from the classic Purple Rain film soundtrack. HUGE. Purple Rain the movie is a landmark rock film and shot Prince from platinum star to global mega star. You guys should def. watch the film (Prince won an Oscar for Best Original Song Score) and listen to the album version of "Let's Go Crazy." It's worth it.
I was 2nd row in Biloxi, Mississippi for his Musicology Tour with his New Power Generation (2004). I was able to score great tickets at a great price because of my membership in his official fan club at that time. That show was everything people always say about his shows and performances. Absolutely incredible. So glad that I got to see him.
You mean to tell me these twins,, our reacting to let’s go crazy,, the extreme edited version. And haven’t seen the long version of ‘let’s go crazy’,, from the movie “purple rain“? I sincerely hope by now they watch the movie purple rain. But for the full Prince experience. They should start with the first album “for you” and work their way through the album ‘Prince’, ‘dirty mind’, ‘controversy’, ‘1999’, ‘purple rain’, ‘around the world in a day’, ‘ parade’,,,,, all the way up to ‘sign of the times’. Including all of the B-Sides, music videos, and films. On Prince’s very first album and the very first track on that album ‘For You“,, at such a young age,, Prince tells you exactly what his plan is & why he is here. Everything he said on that very first song on that very first album,, came true. Princess far more than just a guy who plays guitar. You must go deeper to hear & see him💜 Which should motivate you to go deeper with it yourself. Because Prince is an inspiration for those of us who are creative. To let go and express ourselves freely as artist.
I was a Prince fan long before I became a wedding minister. I still can't start a ceremony with "Dearly Beloved,..." because I'll break into Let's Go Crazy, which while AWESOME, might not be appropriate for a wedding.
This was just a 3 years after the concept of 'music videos" was born with MTV in 1981. Most of what we saw of performers until then were tv appearances, movies, concerts, or album covers. There were no computers or multiple channels in which to have a platform for artists to have videos. Eric Clapton said that about Prince sarcastically. It is true that Prince is talented on guitar. However, at the time, he pissed off Eric, Tom Petty, and Dhani Harrison at a tribute to George Harrison, where Prince immediately started showboating, making it about him instead of George. You can visibly see Tom Petty gritting his teeth during the performance.
You should just watch an an entire Prince concert. There are plenty online to be found. That said, if you don’t want to watch a whole concert, but want to know what it’s like, watch the 2005 NAACP image awards performance. He covers a little bit of every genre of music in one performance.
Probably one of the more misunderstood music artists of the 80’s, often berated by the “mainstream critics”, often because they simply didn’t like the movie ‘Purple Rain’. I was always blasted by my more metalhead friends for liking Prince. I don’t care, the dude was awesome and made great music, good is good no matter the genre. Saw him only once, somewhere around 1985, Morris Day made an appearance, was frickin awesome.
Since no-one has said it yet - you need to react to While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Prince had been left off Rolling Stones top 100 guitarists list so during this tribute to George Harrison he decided to show them why that was a mistake
You should check out the movie Purple Rain. It's based loosely on his life! Minneapolis had its own song style, Prince led the way. Morris Day and The Time. One Love ❤

Hey guys , love ur channel , this was the sound track of my life back then , u keep asking about more songs to review , please review “ darling nikki “ , I don’t think there is a video but u gotta review the soundtrack , it’s wild
@@BassTwinsReact Not being negative. I am a twin, she is a female, but we disagree on a lot.....I was just curious if you 2 ever have. I would love to know what it would be like to have a twin brother, though. I think I would be closer with him. Not close with her.
When this came out, I had a sister that I never liked that used to play this album all the time, which made me dislike it. Turns out, it's amazing! Still don't like that B-, though
This is footage from the movie Purple Rain. Purple Rain was an album and a movie starring Prince based loosely on his life.

Yeah, the Album Version is even greater. It's also got the full version eulogy or monologue at the beginning, which is a must-hear.

Saw Prince once in 1984 at the New Orleans Superdome (as it was called at the time)! Great performance!!

Woah !!!! Didn't See this one comin ! Mega-Mega-MEGA- Banger Here !!!
Yes it’s from a movie called Purple Rain
It doesn't include the full intro:
Dearly beloved
We are gathered here to get through this thing called life
Electric word, life
It means forever, and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here to tell ya
There's something else
The afterworld
A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun
Day or night
So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
You know the one
Dr. Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, babe
Cos in this life things are much harder than in the afterworld
Cos in this life you're on your own
And if the elevator tries to bring you down
Go crazy
Punch a higher floor!
ETA: Something a bit creepy ... Prince said he equated the elevator with the devil. He ended up being found dead in the elevator at Paisley Park (his home) from an accidental drug overdose.
I'm already there waiting on y'all....hahaha...this is to be played at my funeral!

😂
