I saw Prince in concert about five times and witnessed him rehearsing prior to the "Sign O' The Times" tour. I have NEVER seen a musician like Prince... he was astounding. Beyond any musician in his skill and imagination.
The movie is Purple Rain. It's a sort of biopic about Prince coming into stardom but it's mostly a love story with some comedy and drama sprinkled in there. The film features him and his band and associated acts like The Time and Apollonia 6. All amateurs to acting, so it's not a well acted film but it's a raucous good time.
For me the greatest rock performance of any artist EVER, done be one of the greatest musicians in music history. Purple Rain was the first album I bought at the age of 15 and I've been his biggest fan for over 40 years now ;-) ....Saw him live multiple times in the 80s... and later, and no one touches his genius on stage. Thanks for posting your reaction.
We miss him more than words can ever say. He’s the reason I have 18 favorite guitar gods. Purple Rain was more than a movie a record a tour….it was a movement… Been in love with him for over forty years….I feel like a rock n roll widow 😢
Here are some Prince Rock Classics if that's more of what you're looking for & yes Prince was every genre. Prince has over 40 official album releases & not one of them sounds the same. Anyways, great reaction here is a small list of Prince Rock classics you can start with. ~Why you wanna treat me so bad (There's a music video) ~Bambi ~Dreamer ~3 Chains O Gold ~Purple Rain (Rock Ballad) ~I'm Yours (Prince is playing every instrument on that song & entire album) ~Boom ~Darling Nikki (This song is what created The 'Advisory" warning on music CD's
Other Prince hits:(Funky R&B) kiss, (rap) Gett Off, (psychedelic pop) Raspberry beret, (the pop masterpiece) When Doves Cry, (The rock/pop ) “Little Red Corvette.” Great live performances: Prince Arsenio hall show 1991 performance of “let’s go crazy/Kiss” Prince MTV music awards “Gett Off” Prince American music awards 1985 “Purple Rain” Prince musicology tour 2004 live in Detroit “DMSR”(the most Minneapolis sound song Prince wrote imo. The Minneapolis sound is the mixture of r&b with the guitar rock sound. Prince is acknowledged as the creator of that genre of music). Prince cover of “Creep” Coachella 2008 (Prince being a rock god-it is about the last solo) Prince “turn me loose” the tonight show 2008. (Prince channeling the groove funk that is James Brown).
Yeah, I think you should probably watch that movie - Purple Rain. It and the accompanying album of the same name are what shot him into the stratosphere. You'll get a good sense of his peerless talents and what a once-in-a-generation performer he was - (lots of concert scenes). It's a very special album too because he was forced by the movie production to take his sweet time with it. (He was famous for knocking out something like a new song a day, never spending more time than absolutely necessary to finish it). And that extra care shows. It's an absolutely essential album by any standard. You can't have a full grasp of the 80s without it. And the number of artists he influenced is staggering.
Prince played over 30 different instruments. Write, produced, all his songs and instrumentals. After he passed away there were still hundreds and hundreds of material he had written still could be used as album material. His brain cogs never stopped turning. He was a genius.
React to Let's Go Crazy Live Syracuse 1985. The only lead guitarist I've seen playing hell fire rock guitar and dancing around the stage at the same time.
I cried when Prince died. In this song he says are we gonna let the elevator bring us down and he died in his elevator. Lee I put Prince right up there with Steve Terreberry. Purple Rain is a really good movie. Thanks Lee.
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World is a cracking song 🤣 Well worth a check off that very album (The Gold Experience) is the sort-of titular 'Gold'. Nobody reacts to it, but it has an absolute mega solo
This is from the Purple Rain album and movie released in 1984. He was a great musician and performer. When you do Baby I’m a Star you should do the live performance from 1985 that includes I would Die 4 U. Just when you think he’s done he isn’t and keeps going.
This is actually the shortened version for play on MTV and made with clips from the 1984 Prince film Purple Rain. This is first track off, all of which on the OST are by Prince, who won an Oscar for the Soundtrack, which is a masterpiece.
Prince was upset with Rolling Stone magazine for not putting him on the Top 100 best guitarist of all time well check him out when R&R hall of Fame paid tribute to George Harrison… the stage was full of top line musicians and Prince was the final guitarist when they were playing ‘ While My Guitar 🎸 Gently Weeps’. It is truly a tribute to George 🎸🥰❤️🔥❤️❤️🔥 Thanks for reacting to Let’s Go Crazy … a favourite of mine 💟
Purple rain we hear on the album is from an actual live recording from a concert. There are many, many great videos of Prince playing his guitar. Watch Motherless Child , awesome cover and also The Ride… the one I like best is here: ruclips.net/video/02UGTgi8u_8/видео.htmlsi=Q5PY5cSOWZ1bZpVl

We miss him more than words can ever say.
He’s the reason I have 18 favorite guitar gods.

Genius.
He was a guitar god! Played all instruments on his records. These clips are from the movie Purple rain

I think you know what we're dealing with now...a right proper reaction. Let's go...there's much, much, more! 🎸

As someone who lives near Paisley Park I can’t imagine not knowing Prince or this song!
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World is a cracking song 🤣 Well worth a check off that very album (The Gold Experience) is the sort-of titular 'Gold'. Nobody reacts to it, but it has an absolute mega solo
see him playing in the Rock Hall of Fame. Greatest guitarest ever IMHO. But he could sing, dance, everything...all in one human.....or was he?

Gone too soon, I don’t live far from his mansion
