- I was looking to buy a portable speaker to use when I do photoshoots.
and most of my shoots are outdoor, so I need a small speaker that's loud enough with good sound quality to cover my needs.

I got a 2 pack of the maker soundcore mini 3 pro for $60 about 15 months ago. For that price, I have no complaints. I only use one speaker at a time so the battery life isn’t too big of a problem (though noticeable). I use the liberty 3 pros as my earphones so I also like sharing the same app, for my EQ stuff.
I really like when my sound gears use the same app 🤠
Same here I used to have all my things from Sony but Sony speakers are a little disappointing lately 😕

Try any cheap speaker around you on a really low volume and you will hear that it's performing well 😊.
So try to compare the Sony and JBL on the same volume level for fair comparison then pick your favorite.

I bought the Bose but I’m an audiophile. While JBL seems to be the best overall because of the clip, portability and price, it lacks in bass. The Bose muffles sound after 75% loudness from my iPhone. I’d say the best one overall would definitely have to be the clip. As the WONDERBOOM sounds great but you can’t beat the portability of the JBL. When it comes down to sound the WONDERBOOM blows all these speakers out of the water 😂

i use to have the bose soundlink micro, the sound and the fact that i was able to answer phone calls on my ride was great but every time i take off my backpack off my shoulder the rubber strap open on a simple rubbed. using now a clip 3 and going to have a clip 4 because its simply better and newer! good review👌🏻

I have Wonderboom 2 and Jbl extreme 2 and they sound similar in volume even though jbl is the 4th time the size.
Yes, the bass is superior in jbl but don't have 360 sound as in Wonderboom 2.

I was surprised by Wonderboom 2 output.
It's so capable but the price Is kinda high considering that you can buy a 30 watt speaker( like JBL charge and LG pl7) for only 20$ more .
But you will lose a bit on the portability so I understand why people love Wonderboom 2 great sound quality in a small package 🤠

Nice review got my grey orange wonderboom for 66 euros on a Amazon Warehouse deal which clearly makes it the King to me. Quite happy with my purchase and mainly in use for table tennis outdoor sessions. Keep up the good reviews sub well diserved.

I own the clip4 and two wonderboom. The JBL doesn't go very loud. I can have it all the way up at work and barely hear it. the UE I can only turn to about 50% or 60%.
Yes the Wonderboom is super loud compared to the others.
But I feel like the clip 4 has a more balanced sound.
Wonderboom is in first place, Soundcore a very close second for me, for sound alone and the others arent good enough.

Love JBL's bigger speakers but the base on their compact speaker line is non exsistant , do not get JBL if you want base it has zero base....
I think you are a heavy bass listener.
So I don't think any small speaker will give you the rich sound that you want ☺️.
Try at least 30 watts speakers.
I went in to buy the Bose due to its size so I can pack it in a beach bag or in my purse for outdoor listening. I ended up leaving with a wonder boom. The sound was amazing it was on sale so about $40 cheaper and the fact that you can add a second for party mode when entertaining at my home sealed the deal.
Wonder boom is one of the best mini speakers it tried with one problem which is the price.
But for a 40$ off you got yourself a great deal 🤩🤩.
Micro USB makes it obsolete
@@SoLowDolo I love my Wonderbooms and this is my only problem with them. Micro USB is so much more fragile than USB C. I still can’t believe the Wonderboom 3 has Micro USB in 2022!!!

Oh what the heck... all of them are good. To make a good sound, just down an apps on your phone. "Equalizer" . It will boost your volume and bass. Just adjust it to your sound level..😁
Yeah of course you can adjust the EQ to make all of these sounds better but most of the people will use these speakers out of the box without any adjustments and this is the only way to make it as fair as possible.

LG did well on the pl7 but when it comes to sound quality the Sony xb13 performs better than the LG pl2.

I really like what the Soundcore can offer for the price, it's only 50$ after all.
The Wondeboom 2 is really good however it's so expensive!! You can buy JBL flip 5 for the same price and you will get much better results.
And I definitely agree with you about Bose it's just a beautiful design and color.

A tribit stormbox micro, which is similar in size to clip4, goes down to 60hz. It sounds as if a separate subwoofer is added to the clip 4 and is way louder too in volume.
90 Hz? Are you sure! Because that means the JBL has no bass at all. But then again that's how I feel like, it's honestly pathetic.
Please make a video of the best speaker that we can buy under $50 comparing speakers like JBL Go 2, JBL Go 3, Sony srs xb 01, Anker Soundcore Icon, Anker Soundcore Nano, Tribit XSound Go and Tribit XSound Surf. 🧡

Great video man! I'm extremely biased towards UE products, I've spent alot of money and time using the others, mostly bose and JBL, and JBL is good but 🤷🏽♂️ ue just tends to be sooo much louder and in smaller packages too. Their multi device party up feature is much better than JBL as well, so being that my friends and I all use UE, with the help of your video i know I'll be going with the loudest UE 🙏🏻🙅🏽♂️

Sony xb13 last above 10 hours at 70 to 80% volume. I don't know why it is mentioned in this video for 5 hours only

How come SONY was rated so low on a battery life? It's battery is stronger than JBL Clip. Even if the promised 16hrs IS a marketing exagerration, surely it can't be as bad as 5? Sony used to be extremely good at battery optimization, my ancient SBH20 could pull as long as 4 hours, and my daughter's x400 can last longer than a day.
Well I understand Sony usually has a solid battery life but on these versions of both (Clip 4 & Xb13) the JBL is better without any doubts
@@TechLiner I'm not sure how your battery test had been performed, and there's a chance that something was\is wrong with a given piece of tech, but I find it REALLY hard to believe that 1050mah battery can perform almost twice as long as a 1400mah battery (8hr vs 5hr, according to you), considering that both have comparable 5w drivers (clip is lowder because of how it's passive part designed). Battery test numbers I'm seeing in other sources for xb13 range from 8 to 12 hours.
@@nrieh4553the type of music played also is a factor. More bass eats batteries more. If Sony produces more bass than jbl that can explain it. Bass is the biggest battery killer for speakers.

I need a small speaker to use while biking in a little noisy environment. I've shortlisted UE Wonderboom 2 & JBL Clip 4. Which of them would sound better if budget is not an issue?
JBL clip 4 has a better sound quality and UE Wonderboom 2 is simply louder.
So if it's a really busy environment go with UE but if it's not much JBL clip 4 is the way to go 😃

The soundboost was off on the LG!
I know it's gonna perform better with soundboost but each of these speakers has some features to boost the sound so I had to turn all of it off to make the comparison as fair as possible

I know most of these speakers can perform better in different EQ settings but I kept everything on the default settings to make the comparison as fair as possible.

The lg boom is the worst hands down , jbl has the best highs and Sony has the best bass and overall balanced sound quality

great review, not sure if I agree with clip sounding better than the Bose or the anker, the anker has a great eq app too so can easily beat the clip 4 in the high trebs if thats what your into..personally I find the boosted trebs to be over the top. For longer listening id go the Bose or sondcore anyday
I didn't tweak any settings on these speakers and I'm sure you can have much better results if you work on the EQ.
But most of the people will use these speakers out of the box.

The Sony xb13 will give you a better bass but you will compromise a lot like loudness and sound quality.
I recommend you to stick with JBL unless you are ok with compromising the size then there are a lot of better options like lg pl7 this speaker is a beast to the price but it's a little bit bigger

I bought the mini 3 for 30 dollars, was it the best purchase? since the JBL clip 4 is 45 dollars in my country, do you feel a lot of difference between the mini 3 vs the clip 4? the Wonderboom 2 is $55, worth the upgrade?

I recommend you spend the extra 10$ and get the JBL it's worth the upgrade

hello, if I connect the speaker via a jack cable, can I disable bluetooth so that it does not consume battery?
Yes you can do that
The speaker has to be on but you can turn the Bluetooth off when you use cable connection 🙂

all the speakers put the Bluetooth on pending when it's not used so you're not losing a lot of battery when you use aux cable even if the Bluetooth is on.
You can try that on your phone as well, try to turn the Bluetooth on without connecting to any devices and you will notice that you're not losing battery at all!

A Sound Test without the mid's (especially singin) is not so Well. And the JBL can't Connect to a second speaker, no tws onboard for stereo. So this Is a minus Point, because even cheaper one's are able to do this. But otherwise you are doing well. Next time with mid's😉👍

Hey man, I agree with the rest that you obviously put a lot of effort and thought into this video, so congrats. I'm a huge fan of the lg xboom line, do you remember if you had the sound boost on the lg pl2 and if it had the latest firmware, both of which are needed to have the best from the lg speakers. Otherwise the clip 4 and the wonderboom 2 are the top for me from this lineup.

LG PL2 had the latest firmware update for sure however I didn't turn on the sound boost, also I didn't turn on the extrabass on Sony and outdoor mode on the Wonderboom to keep things fair in the comparison and I totally love LG speaker lineup as well.
In fact my favorite speaker so far is the LG PL7 but lg didn't do there best on the PL2 compared to the PL7 and keep in mind that these are the top mini speakers in the market so the PL2 is not bad by any means especially if you keep the noticeably lower price in mind but if you want the best and the money is not a deal for you the clip 4 performance is better overall.

Yes just make sure you're linking the same speakers or if the other speaker is compatible ☺️
The Anker has overall the best balance of mids, highs, and lows, and even though it doesn't have the sound seperation of the Sony, it retains much more bass at the higher levels which makes it sound much fuller in comparison. While the highs on the JBL sounds what a genuine speaker enthusiast would describe as metallic, and sibilant, not to mention it produces hardly any bass at any level, so I am kinda confused as to why did you even come to the conclusion that it's the best speaker here!
There is something to keep in mind here.
When you buy a speaker this size you don't expect a pro-grade audio level.
You're just looking for something versatile and enjoyable to use.
And JBL offered all of that the sound is loud and clear enough with a clip, good battery life and average price but I'm actually surprised about you saying that JBL doesn't have a good bass because I'm pretty sure it has pretty good bass.
Anyway sound is a personal preference that's why I did the test for you so you can pick the one you like the most 😊

JBL has the longest battery life on max volume, however if you use Wonderboom with outdoor mode off it will be equal to the JBL ☺️.

Sony performance is so good specially when it comes to balance.
No doubt about that I use Sony headphones 🎧 for years now.

Even though the Bose is the oldest one, I'll still take it over the rest. It looks and feels the best. Has the best bass and the Bose name is like high fashion.
The popularity of the Bose brand is definitely there (same as Beats headphones).
And there is no doubt at all that they mastered the audio technology.
However I don't think they mastered the pricing at all!!
Top notch when it comes to sound quality but for the value of money Bose is still far behind!!
But if you don't care about the value and you have the money to buy it then go for it 👍

If the soundcore is built like the anker soundcore mini 2 than I would go with the soundcore with build quality. I dropped my souncore mini 2 from the top catwalk on a ship at work. It was 30 ft up and hit the very corner of ther hatch top lid. It made a small dent but it still work great. I've dropped so many times. Anyways great video.

So you can't go wrong with any if lg is your pick then go for it it's the most durable one between these btw ;)
I will go for wonderboom if I want loudness . I will go for sony for low volume clean sound
