I have the Marshall Emberton and now the Willen. I use the Willen for listening to sports outside on the deck st the Bar. It's awesome sound for live sports and watching TV both on my cellphone. It's small size and strap makes it easy to carry ,hook it to my belt then put it in a chair about 6ft from the cellphone set mid volume.
It’s better if you like more treble than bass. Marshall is better if you like bass. I like BASS so it’s Marshall for me. Both are clearly better than the Bose though
The detail may sound better in a video like this however in the real world, the focus on the upper frequency can get too much for long listening. Bose sounds less but it is a nice smooth sound that is less fatiguing
Bose is mediocre at best. $100 for it is highway robbery first of all. More like a 50ish dollar speaker in my opinion. Battery life sucks, doesn’t get very loud at all, and there isn’t much bass. Sure you can hear it a little, but it’s nothing to rave about. Build quality is pretty good but it better be for 100 dollars. I don’t understand why everyone thinks it’s such a good speaker, maybe if it was half the price I could understand it
I agree with you that the Marshall appears to be the best pick. Would have liked to hear Jazz, Classical and Rock on the speakers to better judge their sound quality.
I have the Marshall Stockwell and one thing I like about it is I can control the bass and treble through the knobs. I like the sound of Bose Micro for its size. It sounds fuller and well balanced with the highs and lows.
This was a great comparison. 👍🏽 I like knowing 'head to head ' what I'm gaining and losing for different price points. I'm another vote for the tribit. 🙋🏾♀️
Have had the bose micro for a few years now using solely strapped to my kayak. And other random things. The battery life on average for me is 7hrs, which is plenty. And it sounds great for it’s size! I will say not having usb-c is a still a bummer, and it definitely could use a separate tweeter for highs. But over all it’s been a fantastic speaker.
Big thing that I felt was as missed with the JBL, was a battery indicator. I’ve had the Bose for a few years now and found this JBL on sale.. sounds great and vocals are definitely a bit more clear… but not being able to visually see the battery power is a bit of a let down. I was just out playing golf today and the battery indicator light was blinking red after 3.5 hours.. which is nowhere near the advertised time. I understand the volume plays a role but not knowing exactly the percentage you’re at is a bummer. That’s what I like about the Bose.. upon turning on you get an announcement of the percentage and you have multiple indicator lights at the top of the speaker, giving you an indication of battery remaining.
same annoyance i had with the JBL. it can last 10 hours but youd need to have it at maybe 50% max volume and its just not doable with how weak the speaker is. i would have it at max volume and have it die in ~4-5 hours
So I once got the Sony XB10 and it was pretty solid, but it had one downside, it distorted at max volume. I would love to see you include audio samples at max volume, just so we the potential buyers, can see the max volume clarity and see if it distorts the audio or not, cause never again will I get a speaker that does that, and really should disqualify a speaker in these head to head matchups. Also a battery test at max volume use would be extremely useful information to include :D. Just a thought, anyways, awesome vid, def subbed :D
I paired a JBL Clip4 with an Apple iWatch Ultra and I can listen to music without the use of an iPhone (WAN or eSIM). However, I cannot hear audio from the Clip4 during phone calls. I am aware that the Clip4 does not have a built-in microphone anymore. I am using the iWatch mic during calls, but I want to hear audio via a waterproof Bluetooth speaker under some noisy conditions. Audio can be routed from the iWatch Ultra to a SONY SRS-XB43. Why doesn't the Clip4 work in a similar way? Any suggestions about how to fix this issue?
I have the Bose Sounlink Micro but have stopped using it due to no turn off option. It always switches back on automatically and repeats ready to connect in middle of day, night, anytime. I have submitted several feedbacks to Bose on this but it seems this is as per design. Sound is great but I have stopped using it due to this inconvenience. Does the JBL or Marshall also auto-starts by itself when turned off? I need to buy new speaker, please sugggest
Astutely and thoughtfully reviewed - thanks! Much appreciate becoming aware of the little Marshall. Might check it out. And thankful to the commenters here who are also proposing the Tribet StormBox Micro 2, of which I also wasn‘t aware. Will also check it out. Reviewers like you make me love RUclips all over again! :-) As for the contenders: JBL is out of the race for doing the easy thing best (upper frequencies are easy to get out of a small box), and Bose is just doing its old, dusty, sound-signature thing, i.e. dulling/mellowing out the sound for relaxed and „full-sounding“ reply, though with very little trueness to detail (treble and upper mids). As a musician, I dislike the Bose coloration. It only works for me on my Bose S1 Pro. There, enough detail is available for acoustic guitar and vocals, whilst providing a huge bass thump, and the speaker doesn‘t sound dull at all (plus it has EQ). But that‘s an entirely different kettle of fish, as in far more expensive and tons heavier. Just an example that Bose can do better. ;-)
Marshall looks very stylish and sounds great, the Bose looks like a smoke detector!! The Marshall is the Versace Suit🤩 and comes with a strong brand heritage. Great Review! 😄👍🏿
For me it's really down to two which is Marshall & JBL. JBL has the better sound when it comes to music, Marshall would be good for calls, podcast, & movie watching on the road. Bose is coming off muddy.
Honestly personally i would say JBL sounds great....for bass heavy song... Any music with more clear sounds&vocal heavy the bass disrupts the clear sound 🤔 but if you listen to mostly bass heavy music then yes great
Your videos are great and informative as always. I remember you had a picture of these sport Anker wireless earbuds. I was wondering if you were going to review them soon. You had a small picture preview a few weeks ago.
@@CEONTHEMAKING I cannot wait. I love the Momentum 3’s from Sennheiser. I don’t use them in the gym very much because my workouts are intense. Hopefully these Anker’s can satisfy the thirst like Sprite.
t.j. Maxx now has the JBL clip 4 for $44 . I thought about returning but multiple reviews have revealed that you're not going to get much more for that price tag so just enjoy
i owned jbl clip and never regretted the sound . After watching the video JbL has the best sound. Though i will get the marshall as well for the look and my name is marshall😉
I got the jbl clip 4, but it made a weird crackling sound so I got a refund and bought the bose micro that sounds so much better, no regrets with that purchase at all
I listened to this video with AirPods Pro and what I found was, Bose is giving more bass, JBL is treble more treble, while Marshall is giving the balance of both. I own a Soundlink Flex and thinking about buying a Soundlink Micro, but after watching this video, I might taking the Marshall Willen cause for this size of speaker I might just wanna use it as a speaker for Podcast or Audiobooks or for backing up my iPad, while the Soundlink Flex still the go to speaker for listening to Music.
Funny thing is yesterday I went into Best Buy and was looking at all 3 speakers. I listened to all 3 in demo mode and the JBL sounded flat while the Bose had a great natural sound. But I went with the Marshall because it had good sound and it had a punch to its bass not to mention the battery life.
Same thing to me I finally purchased Marshall and battery life is sick. I also like the bottom at the front that can control volume, next and previous songs.
I have the Bose and the clip. I like the Bose. The tribit is also great. You have been killing it lately with the videos. My kids are famous RUclipsrs so I know how much work this takes
@world's biggest a*$hole it so not crystal clear. It is more of a mellow sound The JBL has better highs imo. Definitely not as good as the bigger Bose speaker that I have
The writings were on the wall with this comparison. The Bose needs updating so badly it’s bordering on painful. I copped the JBL because I was enamored with its form factor but after a week I returned it because the bass was very anemic. You should try to cop the Tribit StormBox Micro. I think that speaker could give the Willen a run for it’s money. Cheers
I got the stormbox micro. The battery life sucks after a few months. I can barely squeeze 3 hrs of play time out of it. And thats with the sound being on low.
It makes sense that Marshall is the best one. over here in Australia, it's double the price of what the JBL Clip4 is. So you would hope to get what you pay for. Marshalls have always had that premium feel with any of their products.

Maybe it's only me, but I felt the the clip 4 had the best sound!

Right!?! Like I was kinda confused on that myself lol I feel the vocals are more pronounced on the clip 4
It’s better if you like more treble than bass. Marshall is better if you like bass. I like BASS so it’s Marshall for me.

@@SuperRichyrich11 compared bose VS clip 4 in store. Bose wins hands down, that rich bassy sound is way better than clips.

Bose is insane. Tiny package, but the sound is great. And that BASS!

Definitely! The bose has a warm mellow sound to it. Awesome in person.
У меня есть и клип 4 и босе микро. В живую босе на голову выше , чем клип. А вот Маршалл не знаю в Реале как. Я думаю точно лучше , чем jbl.
