Bass deliverance is clearer and deeper on the Sony. It's more an overall balanced sound. JBL is loud for sure

They both are great. The Sony is more for your desk/room/travel with while the JBL is meant to be wore with the clip on a hike or on a bike.

I have the XB 12's from a few years ago. It's not the best in terms of volume but it does the job. I think the thing that puts it over the top compared to other speakers is the fact that it's pairable with another speaker, giving you a true stereo experience. You'll have speakers that sound better on their own but you can't pair them with a double. That feature sets the SONY XB series apart from it's competitors. if they ever were to fix the volume issues with these models while keeping the sound integrity these would be truly impressive.
Jbl let’s you pair speakers in stereo and party mode. Almost all companies do that. Tribit soundcore Bose jbl. Why you lying?

Thanks for this review. It helps me to inform people buying speakers at work. I have had many Sony products over the years, some hit and miss. I was curious about this speaker. I have the Go2 and Go3 and like them for small speakers, but this seems better for about twice the price. I may get one. I still like my Charge4 and may get a Charge5 soon.

these sony speakers in stereo mode can be easy desktop speakers who wants small foot print or smaller table and they have good battery back up too. Nice video !!!
So I just got the jbl clip as a present, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. I wouldn't buy it for the new price, but if u can get it below 30 bucks u got your money's worth for sure

The longer strap vs that little clip looks more versatile also if you're on the move.
I had the og jbl clip, for a small speaker it sounded epic and had many functions like a built in aux. Then had a flip 2. Served me well but wasn't too loud in bass. Now I have a Beats Pill+ and it does sound good, but not 250 euros dope. luckely I've bought it when it was on sale
I just bought my XB13 over clip 4 today and you were right! Sony is the go for me! I'm so happy to have a pair of them and my room sound way better now!

I have the xb12 and it aims too much bass down onto the surface, sometimes causing it to audibly vibrate.
I went ahead and ordered the sony SRSXB13. I liked the price the builded n the features. Hope the sound quality down let me down. I will update you and the community. 👍🏿
What is your review on the Sony?
I don't know if the speaker is great or my headphones are great but that Sony sounded amazing. Listening on some galaxy buds pro
Also with the Sony depending what surface you put them on you can get a deep bass..I think it’s the way the vents are at the bottom..if you put your ears where the vents are you can feel how deep the bass is
Sometimes it causes the surface to audibly vibrate. Which sounds horrible and is just bad design.
@@JerkyFraser nothing bad design about that tons of speakers/subs use different surfaces to boost the bass/sounds of the speak, its the reason the the sony tends to sound way better than the JBL

Phone is not a big deal to me..... but the design of the JBL is what drew me to it.... waterproof, and can clip onto spots within the shower.... also can clip to bikes, belt loops, bags, etc.... much more versatile. The Sony unit doesn't sound appreciably better to me, personally, and it's form factor is undesirable.
Sony is waterproof as well it doesn't have a clip but it has a strap. The sound of the Sony is way better and if you combined 2 together it's even better JBL can't do that.
If you see it clearly Sony is winning in every category just the clip is better in JBL but Sony had the answer for that, the second best thing the strap so whatever you want to hang the JBL you can hang the Sony as well.
@@DroneDaysgr JBL boombox vs Sony XB60 , I chose the latter. Sony's sound quality is just proven good.

JBL Clip 4 is more suitable for outdoor.
If you keep it away from the floor, you get a deeper sense of space.
Strongly agree with you Bro, Sony sounds way better. High are more defined and clear, Mids are well tuned and not outlandish. Bass are Deeper and pronounced.
As per the JBL, yes its louder but the overall sound is dispersed like its coming from everywhere. Bass seems like just a midbass. I think its more built for podcast. SONY Wins!!!

Dayum Floss for 60 bucks both sound good. That 2nd track got me feeling those beats. I like how small and portable they are....I hated lugging around my JBL Charge 3 lol. The Clip 4 is lacking in the thump department which is a bit sad considering it's bigger than the Sony.....and JBL is known for having mind blowing bass. And that speakerphone on the Sony is clear as well....Sony doing good this time round with clean bass and clear sound, speaker phone capability, and stereo connectivity

I went to best buy about a week ago and listened to both of them i respect your choice but I definitely choose a jbl Sony wasn't as loud and clear as the jbl. In my opinion! Great video bro I always choose my tech based on you!

Most of the time the JBL is the clear winner, but trust me, when it comes to these small ones, the Sony is 100% better.
The Sony wasn't loud enough for me at work. I had to keep it tied to my shoulder to hear it. The JBL seems way louder.

Jbl has more 'Mids',But Sony has more Highs-Lows & sounds much cleaner. I really like Sony's sound Signature !

Nothing beats Bose Micro (yeah, it's 100$ but it's worth it). By the way, Floss, are you going to make a review of new Sony Xperia? And B&O Explore portable speaker?
I've been using my Sony XB12. It's still amazing. The battery life is just off the hook. Can't complain. Definitely getting the XB13 for an upgrade.

@@gargieagnihotri at full volume it’s great for the size, it will fill a room nicely, outdoors it won’t sound as loud, but that’s with any small speaker, the good thing about the Xb-12 is that it has an aux port, the xb-13 doesn’t, but overall it’s a great speaker

I own both of these. I always go for the clip, just because of it's versatility. Once you roll with the clip for awhile, you can't go back. I clip it on my tool belt at work , and jam all day.
Thank you for putting together this review. I need to replace my JBL clip 3 which I stood by 100% until I blew it out. With today being prime day I figured I’d give Sony a try. I’m mostly using the speakers for when I ride my motorcycle and at least this time I know if it’s too quiet, I can pair it up with a second one. Props to your kitty for helping out and the girl on the phone for helping with the demonstration!

I got the Sony and I really like it. The strap is a very nice feature and it’s tough as nails.
And one more thing, consumers are saying that the rubber backing on the back of the JBL speakers is peeling off.

Oh yeah. Basically, you can put this speaker anywhere you can put a small water bottle. I’m able to hang the speaker on the rearview mirrors on both my scooter and my motorcycle but this is for riding around town.
My Samsung Galaxy A42 5G and clicked the dolby atmos and the normal eq the whole entire JBL Clip 4 the Bass is Solid....
I think the Sony has the better bass, but the JBL has an overall better sound. The bass makes the Sony sound muddy.
They both sound great! I guess the SRS-XB13 are an evolution of the SRS-XB10, which I have, and they sound excellent. They also have a good margin for equalization.
I am using dindinmodern bluetooth speaker, and I think it is very good among low-priced speakers.
