- While driving around looking for overgrown lawns to mow, I noticed a yard that was only half mowed. Curious about the situation, I pulled into the driveway and knocked on the door. An elderly lady answered, and I kindly inquired why her yard was only partially mowed. She shared a frustrating story: she had hired a company, paying them $75 to mow the entire yard. However, when she returned home from work, she was dismayed to find that they had only completed part of the job.
Despite her numerous attempts to contact the company to understand why they didn't finish the mowing and to request a refund, her calls went unanswered. She expressed her disappointment and frustration over the poor service and the loss of her money.
Feeling sympathetic to her plight, I decided to step in and help. I assured her that I would take care of the rest of her yard, ensuring it was properly mowed and looking neat. It's unfortunate that some companies take advantage of people, especially those who might not be able to handle these tasks on their own.
This experience highlighted the importance of integrity and the need to help those in our community whenever we can. It was a small act of kindness, but it made a big difference for this elderly lady, and it reminded me why I started offering free lawn mowing services in the first place.

My grandson has his own lawn care business. He doesn't make them pay until he's done and has them walk the yards to make sure it's done the way they like. Then if they want something else done he tells them the price. He's had a few add redesigning flowerbeds to their requests lol
Great job! That was a busy street, I gasped several times. Many would have just weed-whacked it, but you did it ‘Wells’! 😀 Continue to stay safe in all the good you do for others. That woman was so blessed when you took notice and stopped to help! Shame on the ones who cheated her! Lesson to be learned or reminded….don’t pay for services until job is completed.

Thanks for noting the problem symptoms and making the time to stop by and check.You got started with edging, and right off how much good feedback that other company missed was right there. Your work is starting to make that place "look good" already. Excellent trick on how to get a mower in an impassible gate. That place being on a corner and with busy traffic, having it up to a good standard will be a treat for all. Appreciate you made the time to catch-up on backlog. That will have her place look good for a while. Mulch was a kind thought.

Wow, great work for such a large yard. Corner lots are so big and demand so much work. You came on time as that would have been an extreme job to have grass longer than it was. What a blessing you were for that elderly woman. A suggestion though ... please leave your camera placed at one end of the front yard or back yard, so we can see a wide angle of what you're doing, as opposed to let us view an area of 20x20 ... it will save you time from having to keep moving it and we can still see you, even if you're at one end of the yard. Thanks in advance.
