No mow May? I get the feeling this homeowner was also going to have a no mow June, July, August, etc. You did an excellent job, Fill. God bless you always.
For years....that's about terminal height for most grasses and the walk hasn't been cleared in at least 5 years. No mow May was a convenient answer....uhhhh yeah! No mow May. Now I can spend more time with my wife....uh ..Morgan Fairchild.
Never heard of no mow May. Those of you who haven't subscribed your missing out. This young man leaves no blade of grass ungroomed. He does an amazing job. The parents of this young man did a very good job raising him. His videos prove all I've said.
No mow May is a new thing people won't cut the grass because of flowers blooming are food for butterflies and bees. It is dumb bees gather the pollen not just in May. It's just an excuse.
I have gardens galore and do not use insecticides ne’er blooms for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. I have never seen or heard of bees and butterflies nibbling/ drinking nectar on top of grass , ever! It’s just laziness! Besides a hub for ticks!
This is the first time I have ever heard of "no mow May." It sounds like a good way to get behind on one's yard for the entire growing season. If the goal is to create more habitat for bees I would think that planting perennial flowers in a flower bed or adding flowering shrubs to the landscaping would have a much greater effect than ignoring the upkeep of your yard for an entire month.
Your comment is good, but you have to realize that those perennials won't be up and producing until June/July. So the bees looking for early year food sources take advantage of the native plants and grasses to get them through until the perennials pop.
@@PaulaJoDavis That's just not accurate. I have a large clump of purple perennial salvia that has been in full bloom since the beginning of May. It measures three feet across and is 16 inches tall and is covered in blooms from early May through October. It is also covered with bees from dusk until dawn each and every day, as is a large clump of perennial pink penstimon that measures two feet across and is 14 inches tall. Also, in April of each year I plant numerous clumps of purple alyssum (an annual) that has been in full bloom since the beginning of May and will continue to bloom all through the summer and fall right up until it starts to frost. This alyssum is not only a favorite of bees but also hummingbird moths which flock to my yard each year. So due to all of my efforts I provide a feeding habitat for bees and moths not just during the month of May but throughout the entire growing season.
I hadn't heard of No Mow May until last year. My neighbor told me it's about leaving the early blooming weeds and flowers for pollinators to get a jump start as early as possible. I mowed with my blades up higher just to even everything out. It left the clover, dandelions, and violets. They were happy, I was happy. As for this yard...it looks great! My favorite part is the edging. Sharp and clean.
I'm 72 and never heard of "no mow May". I guess because where we live we have an HOA and they wouldn't allow it. Your work is always so neat. Love your videos.
I tell you what: I don't know what camera you're using here but it feels like we're sitting right there with you -- extremely "real time". Kudos! Excellent work as always :)
I’ve never heard of “No mow May” either. You did a great job with what you had to mow around. This homeowner just doesn’t take care of his property, the junk he had all around. I agree there are many homeowners who would appreciate having someone help them with their lawn because of health issues or disabilities.
No Mow May is a bee conservation movement that encourages people to not mow their lawns in May to help pollinators. The idea is to allow wildflowers and weeds to bloom, along with longer grasses, to provide food and habitat for pollinators when other floral resources are scarce. These pollinators, in turn, are a food source for birds, bats, and other wildlife.
Except it’s not true. If you mean dandelions…that’s about it. Wild flowers are not grown in over grown grasses and butterflies and bees do not feed on grass seed tops. Now a hub for mosquitos, mice, ticks ( lymes disease), gnats, And their larvae, and other insects that are going to destroy your gardens and grass ……right🙄 FYI birds and bats don’t eat bees!
What a lovely idea. But maybe if it was confined to a portion of the backyard that wasn't visible, the yard could still get cut and look nice and the pollinators coyote have access to the rest. Just a thought
How funny!! I sat down to watch youtube TO AVOID WEED WHACKING MY YARD and this video came up in the side bar.I started watching it. I was so impressed!! You should see how many robins in the Spring and crows in the summer come down to the lawns and look for worms after a mow!! Its a beautiful sight🙏
No mow May is an easy cop out.. Why not have no move March or no dig December. Want bees? Plant a lot of flowers and watch the bees and butterflies come flying in very quickly. Leave a wet lawn over anytime and you get a lot of mosquitos, more mosquitos bigger risk of Malaria. Good job again Fill and love the way you work. You deserve a much bigger audience.
I love the way you are so respectful to the things you pick up and move. Your work is very meticulous whether it’s on someone’s lawn, or a public space. I really enjoy your videos ❤
No matter what some of the nay-sayers post, I think you always do a great job. You’re waaaay more detailed than most of the others that do “Free” lawn care. You actually clean up everything and haul it off which is more than what most actually leave. Bravo to you, sir!
Great job Phil! I couldn’t help but notice that the neighbor next door was out with his blower (after you mowed), blowing the grass clippings back into his ‘messy’ neighbors yard. I can’t say that I blame him though. His yard was very nicely maintained. I wouldn’t want the weed seed to infiltrate my yard. Just sayin’. Thank you for all you do! God bless you.
After watching many of these lawn makeovers, I’ve come to decide my favorite part is the edging and cleaning the gutters❤ It’s amazing how many people don’t do that on their home. It just frames the whole yard and you do an amazing job of edging❤❤ Yard looks Awesome ❤❤❤

Excellent job as always! Thank you! In response to your question, I've never heard of "no mow may." I live in the Mojave desert in California, it was 115 this week and we'll get up past 130 before the summer is out. Very few people in our little city have grass. And we have to really watch our water so we don't grow it. The bees pollinate just about everything. There is a local honey Grower about 3 blocks away and I was swarmed for about 2 months rwo yrs ago. It was interesting to watch the bees fighting the hummingbirds for the pollen. They each shared. The bees actualky crawled inside the tiny hummingbird feeder holes to get sugar water. Most bushes, plants and trees grow yellow flowers and the bees and hummingbirds are on it! I have 1.27 acres and a good part of it is full of creosote bushes, they say the oldest plant in the history of the planet. It knows how much water it's going to get and spawns seedlings accordingly, a specific amount of feet from one to the other plant. One reason I love watching your program is because of all the beautiful green! (From MN) I would not participate in this activity because I believed that grass cuttings and grass cutting encourages Healthy Growth of more grass. I also believe that letting it grow to that height cuts off sunlight and overnight moisture in the air for the undergrowing grass.
You make all your lawns look easy and organized! I have watched you since your beginning and you have become a true lawn cleaner with the perfect edging that you do.
Fil, the yard looks great, the walkways are clean, the edging is sharp and straight and clean. I know the neighbors are so happy you cleaned up his yard. God bless you Fil God bless your Family. See you on the next video.
Looks amazing!! Your attention to detail is incredible and a joy to watch! I live in New York state and I never heard of "No Mow May" around my particular area, in fact, I never heard of it of it at all until your video. When I see over grown yards in May, I assume the individual(s) just haven't gotten around to mow yet but don't know for certain! God Bless you and your family!

I'm excited this makes my Sunday. Love that you are always up for a challenge. I don't have to wait till the end, you always do an amazing job no matter what you come across. Have a great week, stay safe.🦋
Lots of people and Councils in the UK, now do No Mow May. Just today, driving through roads lined with banks of wild daisies and flowering grasses was stunning. Helps the bees for sure. Helps the Council’s bank balance too!
Fill, I love watching you take care of lawns and properties that are out of control. They always look so great when you are done. You and one other channel I watch do your edges SO PERFECTLY! Thank You for helping so many people! Have a Blessed week.
Fill, no mow may wasn’t a thing when I mowed lawns. I started mowing lawns when I was 12 and stopped mowing when I was 33. I’ll be 50 this fall. I miss yard work. But I’ve just been able to walk again for about 20 days now. I enjoy everything about your projects. Especially the edging and the tree trimming. And the whole process. I find it relaxing, educational and enjoyable. Thanks again for the great video. Take care.
Not sure why you would bother with this junk yard when the owner is clearly avoiding cleaning it up. There are far more deserving people who are facing tough times. You are a good man Fill.
Content. Same reason these guys mow abandoned houses knowing it'll just go back to how it was. It's not about helping, it's about having a video every week.

Everyone in our town takes care of his property No one lives with tall grass-----too many copperheads that love tall grass!
Hey Fill I’m a hug fan of your work! You do amazing job weeding and mowing grass and giving back to your community. Thank you for what you do.
Seems like he's upgraded to no mow summer :)
Fill, I love watching you take care of lawns and properties that are out of control. They always look so great when you are done. You and one other channel I watch do your edges SO PERFECTLY! Thank You for helping so many people! Have a Blessed week.
Beautiful work as always :)
Loved watching you clean off the side walks.
Geez, the guy knew you were coming back so he could have cleaned up the yard for you. He might be No Mow Ever and Lazy forever..Psh! Unreal...Haaaaaa
I don't know much about nomomay I do mine all the time ⌚ living in SFla as of late the grass neverstops 🛑 growing so it gets cut at least every 2wks 😊
Enjoyed the entire video, I have never heard no may mow. Wonderful transformation. Keep on keeping on 😊
Great job Fill. ❤❤😮
Agree.
I agree also
Everyone has short comings and faults. We all need help at times in our lives.
Content.
Same reason these guys mow abandoned houses knowing it'll just go back to how it was. It's not about helping, it's about having a video every week.
@@lakeeriehouse6298 Yeah, but God help those who help themselves.
Never heard of No Mow May. Great job! Lookin’ good! 👍
