- One evening, my wife and I drove by this overgrown property. Seeing the need, I returned to check the property in the morning and noticed that the city had either come by super late the night before or early the next morning. It wasn't a citation or ticket; it was a warning saying that they have 7 days to clean up their overgrown mess. If they didn't, they would more than likely have been issued a citation and would have had to pay a fine. I'm glad I could help them out.

It might be a lovely thing to do for someone but there could be repercussions. I would miss watching you do your yard work if something happened.
@@helenfitch3440exactly. Like if the ferns ganged up on you, lodged in your throat. Choked you. Probably wouldn’t happen, but what if it did? What would be you last thoughts? Mine would be, “I always knew it would be the ferns.”
Code enforcement will get pissed off and come back and condemn the buildings.
I'm here in Nova Scotia Ca. never seen anyone around me clean up properties like that one unless there's money involved. seen a few abandoned properties grow trees and bushes when not taken care of. you did a great service to the owners and the neighborhood and saved the owner from a hefty fine. 2 thumbs up

Yes, a peony. They can live 50 years and were a favorite for planting in cemeteries because of that.

You should keep an eye on the property in the coming weeks. As I watched the video I couldn't help wondering whether the owner was a slum lord. The structures on the property should be cited as well and probably torn down. Let us know in the future if this just goes back to the way you found it.

Another enjoyable clean up! One of the best things you do that I especially like, is when you bag up much of the debris. So many other similar RUclips sites just mulch up and leave all the extra debris and blow it back onto the yards. Your methods are way above and top notch in my book. Hey Fill, I am watching from the foothills of Northern California. On this video, around the 2:55 into it. Through the shed/garage man door you can see what looks to me like fireworks on a TV, like a screen saver.

Watching from Colorado. I love it's this cute modest little original home with a big yard in the midst of all the large modern ones. That would be the house I would want if it ever went up for sale. The yard is beautiful and full. Sure was a little tall but honestly it looked beautiful still. You did a lovely job and a generous service.
Sadly, it will probably be torn down to make way for monstrosities like across the street. 😢

I am watching from the UK 🇬🇧 I love watching this type of content on how people can make a difference in the lives of others in a society where people are no longer able to no the meaning of charity or unconditional love and support for complete strangers or biblically neighbours. It’s so heartbreaking to see how people are struggling with large property costs of growing fees for ground care and services for tidying up their yards for people on limited income and pensions for the growing number of elderly and disabled people living in our neighbourhood and having no families who can take care of their children either live far away or they have no family to help. It’s a global problem for society to deal with today.
We're in our late 70s and pay $35/wk just for mowing and more for other lawn work.

I'm in New Zealand. I agree with you, though I did wonder if this was being land-banked by the owner. It looked like the house and outbuilding had been abandoned. Beautiful street!! This is the image I have (or used to have) in my mind of American streets - nice houses, big beautiful trees and generous yards. I could handle living in a neighbourhood like this!
Also in 🇬🇧, we’ve been mowing our next door neighbours house for years (10+) as she has seizures, and we think the fumes from her mower triggers them, we now have new neighbours to the other side of us, that we also now mow as their mower is not very good. Our front lawns are really big and we really don’t mind as it makes everyone feel a little happier 😊 can’t understand why some of the neighbours can’t chip in 🤷🏼♀️

I think we saw it on his other channel, Fill's Lawn Care Plus. The one where he gives his thought process on why he's using a particular tool and cutting pattern. He's a little more talky on that one. He also uses different cameras for the different channels. I'm enjoying seeing this one too.

I worked at a greenhouse in HS for a year and the owner, Bob, taught me the way you mow... outside edges blown in to get close, for one or two passes, then go down the center and blow the grass on the ALREADY CUT part. Then repeat. Do you know how awesome it is to see someone else do this method!? Bob's line, why put more grass on where you didn't cut yet? You earned my follow and subscription brother! FINALLY, someone else who gets it.

Great Job and you take the time to take care of the grass clippings mowing back and forth and using the grass catcher,so many leave the clods behind, saw a new tool never seen before the broom on the sidewalk,this was a really big change,I know the person was happy when they returned. God bless all of you that mow for free for it is hard now days to pay for lawn service,I have a yard half the size and I can't keep a yard person and I am 82 not able to do yard work anymore but always loved to do my own.

That Toro mower did an incredible job going through that tall grass and when you finished no one would ever suspect the grass had been that high. The lawn looked great!
