- Imagine that you are a potential home buyer, and you come to view the home only to be greeted by a crazy overgrown yard. What would you do in that instant? Well I found a home for sale that had just that. To make it worse, they had a showing lined up the following day with no intention of getting the yard cleaned up prior to showing. I offered to clean up their entire property for free, and both the agent and the owner were super thankful. I hope that our cleaning efforts pushed the sale of the home, and enabled the new homeowner to continue with the maintenance of the yard.

Things I prefer to see edited into all your videos when applicable: mowing, weed wacking, edging, tree trimming. But that's just me.
I did notice you didn't edge the front lawn. But that lawn was quite an undertaking, so getting the bulk of it mowed was more important than detail work. Great job, Fill. 👍
The dandelions will grow back if not pulled out and salt poured into the hole...
mowing over them encourages them to grow even more...

Realtors have become so lazy and complacent that they (most) dont put any effort into prepping a house for selling, along with the sellers who are equally as uncaring. Fill great effort and fabulous job!

It definitely does! My SIL is a realtor she has used her own funds for some basic cleaning/yard work in the past but if property doesn’t sale she is out $100’s. She now ask owners to pay but she also ask the company to start a maintenance fund for the team 🤷🏼♀️
In the town where he works the houses sell themselves. It rare that a house stays on the market for more than a couple weeks. I'm guessing the agent thought it would sell even with a messed up yard. Probably asking 400k or so for that place.

@@scarter8137 If I was a realtor, I would have it in the contract that the owner pays for regular lawn care as long as he owns the property, or no representation.
How could anyone even think to list a house with the yard like this? It is supposed to be attractive and well cared for not looking like its abandoned. Good job!
I will never understand why people keep their trash cans in the front of their house or inside when they have a garage in the backyard it is so tacky

@@ejeanroh377 sometimes a realtor would rather pay out of pocket to do a clean up than spend months trying to make the sale. Considering the % of commission they get on a sale, a couple hundred $ for curb appeal is nothing to them compared to wasting months of their time with no interested buyers.
That realtor could have given you some money for cleaning up that property. I wouldn't even think of closing on that house if the yard was so overgrown! You made it look so nice, Fill! I give you an A+

Good job Fill. Funny story...I was watching someone else mowing lawns (can't remember who it was!) and I found myself thinking, "You aren't doing a very good job. If Fill was here doing it, he would do it right!" Then I thought, "Where did that come from!!" The looked like a duplex, was the whole thing for sale, or just one side? I bet the neighbor was glad to see if mowed! I like the changes you have made! Of the backyard had a lot of weeds, when you put clippings into the holes, won't weeds come back up? While you were doing that, I had to chuckle. One of the dogs was watching like, "What are you doing to my hole!"
You asked the question: I probably would have drove on by. Crub appeal is the first thing people notice. Well, it's what I notice. Awesome for you to take this on for them. Your work is always amazing!!

Hey Fil ! Great work. Enjoy your videos. That one point when you had to dismount from your mower is exactly the reason I never use the mower to cut. That makes for a bad day when you run your mower through tall grass and a metal bar or a stone you couldn't see makes contact with the blades. A 4 cycle for tall grass and 2 cycle for trimming and edging. That mower is not cheap and repairs at times can be costly. Great video 👍

I have liked your channel for a while now but seeing how you were with those dogs I now love it!!! I think you can tell a person’s personality by how they treat dogs and how dogs react to them. Those dogs especially the black lab really took to you lol

Great job. We had those prickers (that’s what we called them), where I grew up. Once you step on one of those as a kid, you learn fast to avoid them. They hurt.

LOL if that yard was enough to scare buyers off they should stick to renting. Yes it should have been kept neat and tidy for sale but if the rest of the house is good that's very minor. Beautiful job as always ❤

I’m as surprised as you were to see they didn’t prep for the sale. Doing a great job on that back yard jungle. As I think about the condition of the lawn, I don’t think I want that real estate company to sell my house if they can’t go look to see what needs to be done.

I have filled up many a hole in my elderly neighbor's lawn with grass clippings. The holes were ankle twisters waiting to happen. Every time I mow her lawn I top off the spots to keep them level with the rest of the yard.

The best part was there was no junk in the yard. I lived in one of those apartments/condo/townhouses and my neighbor only cut his yard once a month. So frustrating! Good job, definitely should help sell the house.
Great job Fill! I find it unbelievable that a homeowner and realtor would show a home to sell with a yard like that. It was full of weeds. I’d think if the yard wasn’t cared for neither would the inside be. They were lucky you came along.
That ‘thing’ by the front door was awful! I was glad to see it be the first thing to go! Great idea to fill the holes with the grass. It made it look better and it will decompose into fill matter.

I am surprised the realtor thought yard care was not urgent before you called her. In answer to your question, I would be asking for a yard allowance, and it wouldn't be a couple of hundred but way more considering what this looked like. 🌻I've never seen a realtor allow a house yo get up for sale with a yard like this. That just tells me they did not put out the $$. Why? The sale of the home would outweigh the cost.🤔 Thank goodness for the blessing that is you.
