He could have losen the bands on the gate and pulled the gate further over by a half inch. Ive done that multiple times with my own gates. Or you called another guy over from your lawn service that more than likely has a narrower deck.

If my equipment won't fit I don't take on the job, when I was new to the business I had one account like this and I made a triangle out of 2x4s. 3 feet long, 8 inches tall. The mower would drive up and tilt and clear the gate.

Everything looks good trimmed. Always better than an overgrown mess.

You really need a fence puller or fence stretcher (yes that is an actual tool) before you try this or you will be hurting trying to pull that chain link back to where it was.

All it takes is loosening the top hinge on the gate and pulling the gate off. 2 min and you don’t screw the fence up… work smarter, think harder!

Next time use a Sky Hook and lift the mower over the gate.
