ALCO's sound is an emotion.
The EMD was pulling Technologically Lightweight LHB coaches then to the old ICF coaches with Alco pullin it..But the initial acceleration of alco is Music to the ears.
They both have good sounds , haven't u heard that jet engine sounds from emd i love it so much and i also like chugging sounds of alcod

This is actually unfair to compare. Here the Alco lost not because of its power but because of the category of the train. Do you really think that a passenger train would win over Sampark Kranti? Even if the passenger was electric WAP4 hauled, still it would get blown away by the diesel hauled superfast Sampark Kranti. Because that was the fate that Indian Railways decided for the two.

Passenger Trains can accelerate fast compared to express trains because the passenger train has only few coaches max (11-12).But in express Trains there are about 17-22 coaches ( depends on link ) so express train locos require more power compared to passenger Trains.
Here in this case, The Alco loco was WDG 3A it was an old loco and will stop service with in few years. Also it was built on old technology. But the case of EMD loco was different. It is built based on the new technology and very powerful.
The LHB coaches are less weight coaches and it can accelerate fast compared to ICF coaches. So EMD + LHB coaches added advantage and the Alco+ICF coaches lost the race😃.

भाई साहब मुकाबला बराबर का होता है। यहां पर wdm3 3300hp का है और wdp4 4000 hp का है। दूसरी बात wdm3 को पुराने भारी डिब्बे खींचने पड़ रहे हैं, वो भी wdp 4 से ज्यादा।🧐 फिर भी wdm 3 is वेस्ट 👍

Emd is much more powerful than alco
There is no parallel race at all EMD is the winner.
Horse power of EMD WDP4 engine is higher. Its a twostoke GE engine. Whereas ALcos are less horse power & 4 stroke engine with max turbo lag. Its the reason.
