    EMD /GE. Dono hi best hai , agar locomotives ki baat ki jaye to EMD bi fuel efficient loco low emissions and sound effects kafi kam hai, bhut ashani se acceleration pakad leta yeh loco testing k time 180speed cross kar chuka hai ,waise to yeh 2000 mein record bana chuka 165km/ph Roha - Madgaon section par janshatabdi ,dono waqt hisab se betar Hai magar baat yah comparision ki hai to GE aaj hisab se advance loco hai technology hisab se, magar Railway minister vkuch bhut galt decision le liya jise ka aane time bhut nuskhan uta naa paade ga, 100% electric ka Faisal lekar bhut baadi galti kar di , Bina diesel locomotives k Rail jaada dur nahi chal skata, GE locomotives jo aaye hue hai freight k liye unka. Tractive effort acha par passenger train k liye suitable nhi hai use kar skate hai yeh loco 100km /ph hi set hai, india railway chahti to GE k hi battery loco bhi kar skati electric se bhi kam karach par chal skati ti GE k hybrid locomotives new tech k sath

    GE and EMD will work 2gether. GE had come 2 India, only 2 Replace the ALCo Fleet. It has come 2 replace the WDM3A, WDG3A and WDM3D.

      Well you can see that most of the ALCO Fleet are being replaced by EMD locomotives and the rest of them are in the process of getting replaced in near future. Other than that GE has come up with new technology with increase in fuel effeciency, power output, low maintenence in comparison to EMD. Hence railway is opting for different alternatives specifically for that fleet.

      @@learnahead-satya3092 not fully. If u wanna see, till 2017, ALCO's and EMD's operated Side-by-Side in the Unelectrified routes. After GE came, ALCO's are now getting displaced quickly. In fact, the most fuel efficient variant of the 710G engine is the epa tier-3 emissions variant, which is being used in ECo Repower Locos made by Progress Rail. The Tier-3 emissions variant, though 1.5x weaker than GE GEVO engine (GEVO-12N produces 4500 HP while 12N-710G3A-*T3* produces just 3000 HP), it is the second most fuel-efficient engine after the GEVO. Hence, The WDG4 and WDP4 family can have a 4500 HP 16N-710G3A-*T3* engine. BHEEM's family can have 5500 HP 20N-710G3A-*T3* . I don't want the jet engine of the 710 2 fade away.

      Thank you for your warm response. Coming to your query, for now Indian Railways in collaboration with GE have started joint venture for the production of GE locomotives at The Diesel Locomotive Factory, Marhowrah which falls in Bihar. They are in a contract of delivering 1000 locomotives with an estimated production cost of 14,656 crore. We might witness 1st unit roll out from the factory very soon.

    Finally we will go all electric except in hill area s and makes more sense to convert old EMD s into all electric or hybrid dual mode by railways research conversion wing Save money and give employment at same time

    Why india always imports loco from different countries... I have not seen any single loco model (except some emu train and shunting engine) which is made in india without importing the first model.
