Cut donations and all funding to universities until common sense and reasoning comes back to professors and the staff that work in these institutions. There is something seriously wrong when our top academic institutions are vocalizing support for a terrorist organization and are condemning our only ally in the Middle East. More importantly America has its own issues that our leaders need to start addressing.
Who decides what will be common sense and reasoning? What if others disagree with that? Then what do we do?

No one answered Comer with a "yes" or a "no" but tghey each had the same "scripted" answer, which speaks volumes about what they are really doing.
I mean, Comer was pretty transparently conflating things that weren’t related. For instance, he says “5 billion dollars from Qatar over 22 years to ALL universities.” Then “UPenn received 1.5 billion from foreign sources.”
First of all, 5 billion over 22 years divided among all major universities…isn’t a lot of money at all. Secondly, he says 1.5 billion to UPenn from “foreign sources,” so Canada, Germany, UK, etc. count in that category. But the way he phrased it was meant to trick the viewer into thinking “UPenn got 1.5 billion of the 5 billion Qatar gave!” and you’re literally falling for it.
Then, he tries to conflate Alumni donations from Qatar with the government of Qatar. “Should you accept donations from countries that harbor terrorists?” This is clearly referring to Qatar’s gov’t. They say they only receive donations from private individuals, I.e. not the people harboring terrorists, alumni who happen to be from Qatar.
Just because a government is shitty, doesn’t mean every single citizen is shitty. It’d be like if I wanted to buy a car from a Japanese company and they denied me because “we don’t take money from countries that wrongfully invaded Iraq.” Obviously I have nothing to do with the invasion of Iraq.

And so sp[eaking to the money being injected into academia has mandy tentacles but the damage is to the mission of these institutions, which should be to educatge citizens to go out into the world and make it better and not destroy those who are of a didderent belief syste. Supporing destructive groups inadvertenly and without accountability is a real issue that needs to be audited by these places of learning so that those meaning to do harm to America. Greed is a terible and pwerful motivation to not follow a core mission.
