Draw with Jazza No problem man. Either you're tapped into the collective consciousness of us creators or you smell my vibe cos this topic is the highlight of my life right now. I was wondering what was causing it and lately I've been feeling uncomfortable in my studio room. It all makes sense. I've been going through such a creative block I just made a cartoon about it. ruclips.net/video/1rcJuTC7HF8/видео.html

I realize that I cannot draw or write a story whenever someone's in the same room as I am. I feel like they're silently judging me even when they're not. I know I should go somewhere else, but I live in the dorms. There's people in the common area and at the library. I just want a place where there's only me so that my ideas can flow out like fairies and that I won't feel restricted to draw or write crazily whenever I have an idea. I guess I should consider moving out into an apartment or something...

Noise cancelling headphones. Lyric-less music. Find a comfortable area, focus on the music, not the people around you. Might take a few minutes, but hopefully soon enough you'll be in your own little world and able to draw/write/create.

I have the same...just to a bigger extend. For me the house has to be empty OR everyone is sleeping. Thats why I have a completely fucked up sleeping schedule very very often. It country for pretty much any kind of work, may it be studying, business crap or even just playing computer games. Im never into it completely, because deep down I expect to be interrupted any second.

Well actually sometimes I think life might not be real and is just my imagination. I don't know that anyone else is real because I can't see from their perspective or their mind. In my mind sometimes, I'm the only thing that's real but I should still pay attention to other people just in case.

Lately, I've been avoiding art/creative block altogether just by going for a walk to the nearby park or Starbucks. Both these places really help keep me inspired or just relaxed enough to draw whatever I want. And going for a walk definitely helps me feel alive lol

Ugh, where were you in my life 7 years ago! Haha everything you said is soooooo true! Actually, exercise alone helped me overcome a bad batch of a 15 year old depression. And editing my environment in a similar way you suggested also made an incredibly huge improvement on my art process. I would add to decorate it and modify it in a way that inspires you every time you walk in it. It's better if it's done slowly with found objects, because it becomes a project and it will look different every time, and when you walk in, it feels like a magical den of creativity where art creation is the only thing that matters there. You rock, man

Overcoming creative block? I never have to worry about it since I keep a notepad document of sketches, movie ideas, jokes, characters, game ideas, etc. Simply looking through cluttered notes that you've kept over the years brings up ideas. Throughout the day, just think about what you'd like to do next, never force yourself to think of an idea with a deadline. Every day I add a joke to it and I've already got dozens of animation ideas, several movie plots, and a couple game ideas.

I totally agree with everything you had to say about keeping your body healthy related to writer's block. I tend to be a lot more creative during marching band season, as I am a lot more physically fit and the exercise really clears my mind. Additionally I notice that no matter how much I may WANT to draw, if I am dealing with eye strain, I just can't manage it. Thanks for all these great videos!

Another top-notch video, lots of great advice. Love your rapid-fire presentation as well, you obviously put a lot of work into these! I find the time of the day helps a lot, I need to work first thing in the morning to make sure I'm making progress on my personal projects or the rest of the day squeezes it out. It becomes a routine- get up at 5, make a coffee, start drawing.
I also make schedules: I write down all the steps and assign a day or 2 to each step. (I got this idea when Adam Phillips shared a page of his project schedule). Cheers!

The Approach you present is plausibly one of very fundamental importance in understanding the 'Systemics' in certain of the deepest and most complicated "Creative Blocks" Patterns.
I also cannot not stress that the Environmental aspect shall include a stimulating Artistic Social (with People) Environment. For example, if the Artist gets for too long isolated from real artistic communities of his "domain", this can be VERY dangerous; it's like there is no one to speak to that really understands the Artist; not taking this Environmental aspect serious enough, can lead to long-term Creative Blocks, which are very destructive, persistent and resillient.
    Thank you for the video.

I don't know if you talked about it in your previous video on creative block. But I notice this about inspiration: Sometimes I'm at work (drawing is not my day job) and I youtube some playlists to get some music in my ears. Everytime I'm on a music mixed called (or any variation of) "EPIC EXTREME ACTION MUSIC LEGENDARY MIX" (we all know those), I find myself unable to work because ideas are pouring in my head and I just want to go home and draw. Atmospheric music can create powerful images in your head. At first you might not get the full picture, but you'll have an idea of the mood, and then, step by step, you end up with a complete drawing.
I tought your viewers mught be interesting in trying that.

I found out to overcome to the creative block (music block as i make music) Is to stop watching Videos and videos of the interviews/tutorials Stop reading endless books about the subject. just "do it" No matter if its a crap art / crappy music every time you do crappy painting/music/writing (whatever your doing) you'll be one step closer to the thing you want to create. And don't look back and think dam this area needs fixing (you'll get bored) and lose focus / motivation. Just do it as much as you can, every day and you will be successful.

This video was motivating in itself! :D Although I already do these things, it's comforting to hear I'm not the only one who has to suffer healthy eating and exercise to gain motivation! :'3

Meditation helps a lot to boost productivity and creativity. I had creative block some months ago and I was always like "I want to curl and cry!" so one of my friends (who is also a desinger) told me to give it a try.
Also doing a 30 minutes (dancing, running, hiking...) of exercise helps. It keeps your mind clear.
And finally, my favorite thing that I read on a book (Which I like to tell myself in a ghetto way): Treat Yo'self! Treat your inner artist/child/alien/whatever-creative. Buy something simple like markers or something cheap to draw like a little kid.

Hey Jazza! I love your videos and have seen your drawn to life, so I'm aware that you struggled with walking for a long time. I'm in a similar boat and was wondering what other tips you might have for those who can't walk?

People can connect thoughts to things that they see you around them which is why people sometimes forget what they were doing when they walk into another room. This same sort of thing could also probably be conected to like you said have it easier to work on a new project after you clean up from the previous one.

When you were talking about tidying up your workspace I was just sat avoiding looking at my desk covered in paint, clay scraps and dust...Yeah. Need to tidy that up...

I recently changed my dietary habits (except coffee, my one and only), and since I've started my job 7 months ago, I've been walking around a mile a day 5 days a week. I've noticed a boost in my ideas but because of my horribly long commute, I don't have the time. However, I am counting the days till I move much closer to work, and can't wait to start creating again!

A good example! I find some of my best ideas have come when just sitting around and not working, so a commute might be good too!
