Listen to this young man. He knows what he's talking about.
thank you good sir :)
Draw with Jazza No problem man. Either you're tapped into the collective consciousness of us creators or you smell my vibe cos this topic is the highlight of my life right now. I was wondering what was causing it and lately I've been feeling uncomfortable in my studio room. It all makes sense. I've been going through such a creative block I just made a cartoon about it. ruclips.net/video/1rcJuTC7HF8/видео.html
***** haha funny animation man! xD
You deserve more subs, got some good vids mate
Quit brown nosing. He doesn't like you, nor does he think of you when fucking his Wife.
That being said, thanks for the tips. Artist block is a bitch.
Yes! I really appreciate that you don't just make animation tutorials, but also cover topics such as motivation.
I'm glad you like the content, thanks for watching!
Draw with Jazza i hope you still interact with your fans (2017)
Jadhen Pangilinan nope
I realize that I cannot draw or write a story whenever someone's in the same room as I am. I feel like they're silently judging me even when they're not. I know I should go somewhere else, but I live in the dorms. There's people in the common area and at the library. I just want a place where there's only me so that my ideas can flow out like fairies and that I won't feel restricted to draw or write crazily whenever I have an idea. I guess I should consider moving out into an apartment or something...
Noise cancelling headphones. Lyric-less music. Find a comfortable area, focus on the music, not the people around you. Might take a few minutes, but hopefully soon enough you'll be in your own little world and able to draw/write/create.
MichuV omg same like I can only draw in my room but I can color and shade werever
Oh my gosh, I'm a college student too and I live in a dorm, with a roommate. It's so weird to try to be creative with people around all the time; there aren't places to totally be alone anywhere. I totally relate.
MichuV the toilet, works for me
I have the same...just to a bigger extend. For me the house has to be empty OR everyone is sleeping. Thats why I have a completely fucked up sleeping schedule very very often. It country for pretty much any kind of work, may it be studying, business crap or even just playing computer games. Im never into it completely, because deep down I expect to be interrupted any second.
This is by far the best channel I've come across in a long time. An absolute breath of fresh air. Your passion and talent is obvious. I think deep down, you are telling me what I already know, but it is really powerful someone else is saying these things to me in such a clean and well executed way. Your videos are really helpful to me at this challenging time. Thanks a ton. You have my respect.
+Horror of Video Games I'm so grateful for your kind words, thank you :)
ditto!!!
i clearly know i am not the center of the universe… but i really feel this video was addressed to me. i guess everyone else feels the same way :D
you are though
We are all of us, the center of our own universes!
Someone hasn't been watching Vsauce!
"If reality is dependent on what each person perceives it to be, then reality as a collective does not exist." -MindChamber
Well actually sometimes I think life might not be real and is just my imagination. I don't know that anyone else is real because I can't see from their perspective or their mind. In my mind sometimes, I'm the only thing that's real but I should still pay attention to other people just in case.
I'm building my very own hyperbolic time chamber that way I can release a video once a week. Thanks for the motivation, Jazza!
good luck! :)
hahahahaha
How to get rid of the block that is keeping me away from cleaning my room and exercising :D
Lately, I've been avoiding art/creative block altogether just by going for a walk to the nearby park or Starbucks. Both these places really help keep me inspired or just relaxed enough to draw whatever I want. And going for a walk definitely helps me feel alive lol
Cluttered space, cluttered mind, it really helps to straighten up you space... 🤗🙃🤗🙃🤗🙃🤗
I love how.. through out my life.. my parents have told me;
"Keep your room clean, you'll feel better about yourself and everything you do."
And it takes Jazza saying it might help with art block to get me to do it.
This video has helped me out. I used to get creative blocks a lot. I was going through depression and just couldn't get motivated. I took a walk around my yard and played with our pitbull. I felt the heavy weight of depression lift and now I have less creative blocks.
You nailed this.
funny how such a massive problem can be solved with a little solution
When I feel anxious, I clean out and organize my mom's fridge and cabinets! haha It's rewarding feeling.
Ugh, where were you in my life 7 years ago! Haha everything you said is soooooo true! Actually, exercise alone helped me overcome a bad batch of a 15 year old depression. And editing my environment in a similar way you suggested also made an incredibly huge improvement on my art process. I would add to decorate it and modify it in a way that inspires you every time you walk in it. It's better if it's done slowly with found objects, because it becomes a project and it will look different every time, and when you walk in, it feels like a magical den of creativity where art creation is the only thing that matters there. You rock, man
Overcoming creative block? I never have to worry about it since I keep a notepad document of sketches, movie ideas, jokes, characters, game ideas, etc. Simply looking through cluttered notes that you've kept over the years brings up ideas. Throughout the day, just think about what you'd like to do next, never force yourself to think of an idea with a deadline. Every day I add a joke to it and I've already got dozens of animation ideas, several movie plots, and a couple game ideas.
Notepad the program and physical Notepads are probably the best thing for ideas ever! ^_^
this is exactly what I do, I have a 9 year old notebook with literally all my ideas - its a great tool!
omg thanks!
Thanks man! I watch your channel to improve my art, even though I am a programmer, and recently this has been an issue when working. I realised writing lots of lists wasn't going to let me think clearer, these tips will. Thanks!
This is EXACTLY Correct. I've seen this in my own life! There are things I have for my art that I HAVEN'T EVEN USED! Partially because some things won't work with what I have, while other things are more about organization and not being able to get to/find things. I just.. need my roomates to actually organize themselves too..
At 8:51 : '' This Video is sponsored by YO'MAMMA'' hahahaaha! You nailed it!
One of the most instructive videos you've done! Thanks! Fan from Puerto Rico!!!
Boricua artist!
again, nail on the head for me as well. Organized, clean, fed, watered, ....GO! you're a gem
This is perfect thanks. I was stressed and wasn't able to produce anything at all, i'll clean things up and start back the gym :D Love your videos thanks
I'm such a fan of your channel and your tips & tricks about how to better handle the feeling of being overwhelmed by your environment is super appreciated. I feel this way myself and that's why I occasionally will clean up my desktop & downloads folder on a biweekly basis.
Thanks for your encouragement...and talking about the mess that I make in my creative space...glad I'm not the only one! Also, I bought your Anatomy Tutorials and they are great!
As of the latest videos, April 2018, Jazza is actually following the tips he presents here. So cool!
I totally agree with everything you had to say about keeping your body healthy related to writer's block. I tend to be a lot more creative during marching band season, as I am a lot more physically fit and the exercise really clears my mind. Additionally I notice that no matter how much I may WANT to draw, if I am dealing with eye strain, I just can't manage it. Thanks for all these great videos!
I now have the sudden urge to clean my office space. Maybe I'll start planning some walks, getting my bike out every now and then, and maybe crack a window open.
Thanks Jazza! I was feeling this strange unwanted laziness consuming me and developing back pains by sitting an doing nothing for too long. I knew I needed to fix this curse and you were the first thing I looked for and I found this video shouting my name.
Also, I never realized how... beautiful your eyes are. Really nice to look at.
Another top-notch video, lots of great advice. Love your rapid-fire presentation as well, you obviously put a lot of work into these! I find the time of the day helps a lot, I need to work first thing in the morning to make sure I'm making progress on my personal projects or the rest of the day squeezes it out. It becomes a routine- get up at 5, make a coffee, start drawing.
I also make schedules: I write down all the steps and assign a day or 2 to each step. (I got this idea when Adam Phillips shared a page of his project schedule). Cheers!
up at 5!? wow respect, i can't do that lol
Draw with Jazza Haha, yep gotta get up before the kids!
+Draw with Jazza thing is I get good ideas but I suck at drawing and I can't create the picture
Rene Pfitzner I wake up at about 6
Jazza your an awesome man. thank you for what you do.
I have actually found that art itself motivates me to be neater and cleaner. Rather then being clean and neat helps my art. It just goes to show that art and workshop maintenance does go hand in hand. Excellent video ^_^
You’ve helped me so much as I’ve gone through different stages of becoming an Artist, and I just want to say that I love your channel
Jazza youre soo right...Thank you for this Video!
Thank you, Jazza; you're wonderful. I think this video was at the perfect time for a lot of us. I'd been sick for a while and now that I'm feeling better I was looking around and wanting to clean up and go for a walk.
I absolutely LOVE these types of videos you make Jazza, it really gives me a boost!
Thanks, I'm glad! i'll do a few more then :)
Very helpful advice - thanks for talking about these things! - especially the dust/allergy stuff, which tends to be a bit off the radar but really can have a huge impact on one's mental clarity and energy...Time to deep clean the carpets around here, methinks!
lmao I watch this when I want to make an OC but I can't think straight.
so helpful! I cleaned up my workspace and bought a new drawing desk from this advice. Now I make much more thoughtful art.
Great advise Jazza! Thanks!
Fantastic vid Jazz, this helps a lot. God bless!
This is some awesome advice and really different, I've never heard this before but it is very relatable.
This is an amazing video :D
Thanks for the motivation tips :D
This video is spot on! Great advice :)
And someone might ask me why are you my favorite artist teacher!
Thank you so much for taking the time for making this video to teach us!
I thank you again for your advise. I will start working on this RIGHT NOW!
I have depression and I exercise a lot so I can relieve some of that stress.
it's a great help for depression and self esteem, for sure
Love your sense of humor
Thank you so very much I really, really needed this. I can't thank you enough.
Thank-you Jazza, this was very helpful🙃😊❤
Love the way you are using your mural in this video. Awesome new feature!
Wow! Thanks jazza this really really helped!
The Approach you present is plausibly one of very fundamental importance in understanding the 'Systemics' in certain of the deepest and most complicated "Creative Blocks" Patterns.
I also cannot not stress that the Environmental aspect shall include a stimulating Artistic Social (with People) Environment. For example, if the Artist gets for too long isolated from real artistic communities of his "domain", this can be VERY dangerous; it's like there is no one to speak to that really understands the Artist; not taking this Environmental aspect serious enough, can lead to long-term Creative Blocks, which are very destructive, persistent and resillient.
Thank you for the video.
"Try to look around you" Exactly what I'm doing at the moment: I'm searching for my pens.
Thanks for your tip on motivation Bro ! thats whats up !
Tanks for the video. Helped me a lot
Thank you for sharing so many great tips, Jazza!
One of my favorite ways to overcome creative block is to do something comletely different, be it creative or just regular chores, or even get a cup of sweetness or take a walk. :-) Now i have a lot more things to try and do. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks Jazza! This was really hopeful. :)
Thank you jazza you have helped me infinite times just wanted to say thank you😊
This video actually helped alot! I am now extremely excited to re-organize my room, and clean it.
I'm glad! it can be difficult to motivate yourself to do a room makeover, but every time I do, and the more effort I put in, the better I feel and more ready I am to start working after
Draw with Jazza Thanks Jazza! I also love how you reply to all the comments
Thanks Jazza. I knew I subscribed to your channel for a reason. Needed to hear this today.
I'm glad you found it helpful, thanks for having subscribed!
Marie Kondo says this sparks joy 💙💚💛
Your videos really help me! Thank you!
I'm glad, thanks for watching!
Dear Jazza.
I want to thank you for the videos that you make. Your videos have helped me very much. I am thirteen and have been struggling on make good art and having fun while doing art. Your videos have made me be able to do art much better. Never change
From Bloodprince gaming
Exactly! Totally agree with you Jazza, I've been trhough this a lot, and all of this really helps. Another thing that helps me a lot is to listen to music. I just blast some here in my room, and it just gets me motivated :D
this is so true especially when making crafts. Me oh my.
Wow. Like others have said, this video appears to be tailor made for me. Everything from messy workplace, dust allergies to depression, excercise and poor lighting. They're all things I know I need to address, but hearing it all together like this, with the common goal of rekindling creativity, really helps get my motivation up. Thanks!
Awesome! Good luck mate
Thanks! It really reminds me of cleaning my bedroom.Btw,Jazza, you have the potential to become a comedian!
OMG best how to overcome artist blcok ever. I never watch another artist block video anymore😊 Thanks Jazza 😊👋🏾✌🏾👍🏾👋🏾
Thanks Jazza!
This came at the right time I've been having this problem latetly
hey jazza its been some time i've been watching your videos, and this mural, this new (awesome) background was the best idea ever! nice video btw
I'm so glad you like it! I'm certainly happy with how it turned out, I didn't have the play button in mind as a frame but it worked out as a happy accident haha
Way to go, Jazza!
your such a great artist man , i really wish i could ever become that good and im illustrating every day but i really want a tablet ! your such an inspiration to me
Jazza, i love your videos, first off. I've drawn digitally for just a couple years, but I'm a long time traditional artist. That being said, organization is a type of art in itself. I love the tips you've given, but i also wanted to say you can get a shoebox, hot glue down some toilet paper rolls and stick rolled up cables in that. Saves a little more space. Had to share. Thanks for all the awesome tutorials and motivational videos.
I absolutely love these types if videos :)
I'm glad! thank you
:3 you should do more like this
I get inspired when I buy new art-suplies, Eather a new sketch-book or pencils :)
I don't know if you talked about it in your previous video on creative block. But I notice this about inspiration: Sometimes I'm at work (drawing is not my day job) and I youtube some playlists to get some music in my ears. Everytime I'm on a music mixed called (or any variation of) "EPIC EXTREME ACTION MUSIC LEGENDARY MIX" (we all know those), I find myself unable to work because ideas are pouring in my head and I just want to go home and draw. Atmospheric music can create powerful images in your head. At first you might not get the full picture, but you'll have an idea of the mood, and then, step by step, you end up with a complete drawing.
I tought your viewers mught be interesting in trying that.
yeah music can be a big one. when I am working on my medieval RPG Ortus, I listen to spotify radio of epic film composers
Jazza - life mentor :D ^_^ thanks for all your work Jazza!!!!
hI Jazza, Really helpfull. Thanks! Great humour!
I think its awesome when you can overcome artist block because then you can do even better things then before sometimes you just get that one really kick ass picture and it feels great XD
I love that feeling too, especially when you start with your feet dragging and by the end you're practically flying
Thanks, it helped c: You're the king Jazza
Don't think I've ever wiped the table hahahahhaha but I will now! Thanks Jazza, really useful.
Every 250 words I write during my heavy writing days I stop and do some squats and jumping jacks. It helps a lot.
Awesome video Jazza. Im under a creative block for quite a long time now and have trouble with doing really nice designs. This just might do the trick. Thank you and take care :)
Thank you, and good luck!
I found out to overcome to the creative block (music block as i make music) Is to stop watching Videos and videos of the interviews/tutorials Stop reading endless books about the subject. just "do it" No matter if its a crap art / crappy music every time you do crappy painting/music/writing (whatever your doing) you'll be one step closer to the thing you want to create. And don't look back and think dam this area needs fixing (you'll get bored) and lose focus / motivation. Just do it as much as you can, every day and you will be successful.
thanks needed to read this
Thanx jazza
this helps me alot.
This video was motivating in itself! :D Although I already do these things, it's comforting to hear I'm not the only one who has to suffer healthy eating and exercise to gain motivation! :'3
Meditation helps a lot to boost productivity and creativity. I had creative block some months ago and I was always like "I want to curl and cry!" so one of my friends (who is also a desinger) told me to give it a try.
Also doing a 30 minutes (dancing, running, hiking...) of exercise helps. It keeps your mind clear.
And finally, my favorite thing that I read on a book (Which I like to tell myself in a ghetto way): Treat Yo'self! Treat your inner artist/child/alien/whatever-creative. Buy something simple like markers or something cheap to draw like a little kid.
All really good points! Thanks for sharing :D
Hey Jazza! I love your videos and have seen your drawn to life, so I'm aware that you struggled with walking for a long time. I'm in a similar boat and was wondering what other tips you might have for those who can't walk?
People can connect thoughts to things that they see you around them which is why people sometimes forget what they were doing when they walk into another room. This same sort of thing could also probably be conected to like you said have it easier to work on a new project after you clean up from the previous one.
Good advise there!
thanks for that, but the last few minutes motivated me to start stretching and exercising more. It would be a good thing and I appreciate all the advice you gave us. ^-^ sorry for repeating that last part. :3
15min jog is the best way!
When you were talking about tidying up your workspace I was just sat avoiding looking at my desk covered in paint, clay scraps and dust...Yeah. Need to tidy that up...
thanks for this advice. :)
I love your videos.
you sir! are AWESOME!
I never even thougt about this, and yet, now that you mention it, its so simple! offcourse I can't work when there is a mess everywere! I don't even have space enougth to think.. thank you for the advice! :3
I'm glad you found it helpful!
So true!!
I understand and appreciate your response. even your channel I will continue constantly. upload more videos with drums jams I like. I also play drums. Thank you
Great video!
thank you!
I recently changed my dietary habits (except coffee, my one and only), and since I've started my job 7 months ago, I've been walking around a mile a day 5 days a week. I've noticed a boost in my ideas but because of my horribly long commute, I don't have the time. However, I am counting the days till I move much closer to work, and can't wait to start creating again!
A good example! I find some of my best ideas have come when just sitting around and not working, so a commute might be good too!
Important stuff!
Dude, I love you.
