16:34 I like how the characters features, eyes, ears, tail and legs mimic the head lights, front suspension and tires, bucket and the exhaust. I don’t know if that was specifically planned out, but it does make it look like the vehicle belongs to her.
I like the way you guys approach drawing other stuff. The general idea is simple. We love to draw characters, so why don't we give the same love to drawing other things. Draw backgrounds as if they are characters themselves. Draw cars like they are characters.
I'm going to put this video whenever I draw a car from now on, thank you. Also, I found your interstitial goofy segments to be genuinely entertaining. That's not always the case for some channels, so great job with that too.
That opening is something I figured out last year! I’m someone that likes portrait studies and wanted to try something new. The car came kind of naturally because of this. Recently, I’ve wanted to stylize cars and this video helped me understand what I was doing without being able to explain it to myself and understand how to stylize like I wanted. Thanks!
This is so cool, the drawing at 0:39 and 18:28 were actually done by one of my animation professors, Fredrick Gardner! I'd recognize that indigo blue prismacolor anywhere. He showed us his original design slides and this drawing was in it. It's so cool to see his work as examples of great vehicle designs. Edit: I showed this video to him and yep its his drawings. He was really interested in the channel so I shared it with him
This is great! Love this format- it reminds me of the Etherington Brothers' "How to Think When You Draw" books (which I'm obsessed with) in a RUclips style format :) Hope to see more!
Thought so too. Just discovered Etherington and i'm working my way through them one-by-one on their blog. And watching BaM for inspiration, ideas and technique.
I used to draw cars all the time as a kid. I was inspired by the sketches of Chip Foose, I wanted to be like him. Now this was mid 2000s, so all the cars I drew were brightly colored, garish tuner trash a là F&F. Never drew humans, faces, etcetera. Naturally your personality is reflected on what you draw, and I was very introverted back then. Wish I stuck to drawing.
Thank you guys so so much for making these videos!! They’re fun, very informative, and they inspire me to challenge myself and draw new things! Also, these videos are always of absolutely amazing quality, so massive props and thank you to you guys for putting so much effort into these videos
unfortunately you guys don't post that often because your skill to explain things is really excellent. Even an art beginner like me can understand it easily. Thank you
not only this is educational, its also entertaining. i just love their artstyle and video style. idk how this video isnt more watched... n love the jokes too hehehe
you guys are the best you've helped me so much and now my perspectives look better. And now after watching your videos my art has improved a lot ,thanks🤩❤❤And congrats , I didn't noticed you guys are at half a million subscribers🥳🎉
omg new BAM vid will be out when i wake up tmrw LETS GO I’ve been trying to animate on my ipad using procreate dreams because i don’t have anywhere to put my huion anymore, but by golly its a bit frustrating 😅 so for now ill absorb as much knowledge from ur channel as i can
omg so excited for this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to draw cars for a long time (dive deep) but i only drew one (good) car and never dove deep into this subject!!
I would love to see a video about doing vehicle turn arounds and tracking details when turning it. We did a vehicle assignment and this video saved me but I had no idea how to turn it in perspective because there were a lot of cylindrical tapering shapes lol
This has been on of the most beneficial art videos I’ve watched in a while! A lot of these tips will be useful, even outside of drawling cars. Thank you 🙏
One issue I had once I felt I had figured out the exteriors was I had such a problem drawing interior seats that didn't look like they were designed for miniature humans. But I guess it's all part of the process.
hi. i don't have time right now to watch the full video, but wanted to share my experience. i do drawing and graphic design job for living. i asked one day my dad when was probably 4 or 5 years old how to draw a car to look realistic. before that my car drawings were silly side view scribbles. he put a toy car in the front of me and told me to draw it how it is. i drew it with perspective etc. my dad was shocked and since then i draw cars and pretty much else as they were 3d.
Where u guys at I miss your vids it's few tutorials out there that are as good as yours. It's so visual explaining my autism love it plz will u make more videos a bit more often ❤?
Awesome video, lots of good info to put to use, Alex Toth is another great vehicle artist and his work is is deceptively simple and you likely know it from early Hanna-Barbera stuff, and the first couple you did had that Toriyama vibe who's also always a great shout for cartooned vehicles
I used to draw a lot of cars when I was a kid. But I grew tire of it.
Man I need to save that one for when I have kids lol
I don’t care that you guys don’t post often, every time you do, it’s a party 🎉 💜
I could watch you guys draw cars all day, the end results are so appealing!

characters are cool, but cars seem easier...

I thought drawing cars was a handful, but I'm four minutes in the video and this has gotten 10 times harder already!
Drawing vehicles like cars are much harder to draw than backgrounds.
